Jordan Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 When Man City went in on the MLS expansion team ("New York City FC"), there were rumors around that they were looking to start a franchise of "Citys" in other leagues around the world... If that is so, I wouldn't be surprised if Heart changes their name and colors in the near future. Edit: To be fair, "Melbourne Heart" is a god-awful name and probably should be changed to something else. Anything else.

A football club should be its own club in its own right, not reliant upon the ideas and whims of a bigger club thousands of miles away. No club is ever going to progress if it's best players are only temporary or it's treated as a nursery to bring on other players, how can supporters feel a connection to a squad that is constantly changing or grow attached to any who's only ambition is to prove himself good enough to get moved to the mother club.
Aus Fox Posted 24 January 2014 Posted 24 January 2014 Isn't Melbourne Victorys ground called the Etihad Stadium? There are two stadiums AAMI park and Eithiad Stadium. Melbourne Victory split games between the two, as AAMI only holds 28,000 so the bigger games Heart, Sydney etc move to the bigger Eithiad.

They know the biggest supported club in Australia is Liverpool
