MGLCFC Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 I really feel this guy is the engine in our midfield. He covers so much ground, breaks up play and has so much time on the ball. No coincidence that when he's not playing we aren't as effective. Hope he can get through to the end of the season injury free. Unsung hero.
Stadt Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Compliments Drinky so well, we look so much better with him in the side rather than King.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 He really is excellent, but he won't play every game and Kingy will get a decent run eventually.
kingfox Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Technically the best Footballer in our side. Whoever doesn't rate him is an idiot.
Babylon Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Thought he was shite in the main today. Him Konchesky and Dyer were a bloody nightmare down the left losing ball after ball.
Happy Fox Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Happy Fox will not be happy with this thread. Boooooooo! Matty James the enigma, the only thing lacking in his game is goals.
MGLCFC Posted 25 January 2014 Author Posted 25 January 2014 Thought he was shite in the main today. Him Konchesky and Dyer were a bloody nightmare down the left losing ball after ball. Strange how people see games differently, thought he was one of our best players. Does so much covering and never panics on the ball.
Unabomber Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Strange how people see games differently, thought he was one of our best players. Does so much covering and never panics on the ball. He was superb today.
Lobsterboyuk Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Worked hard today, some great covering when we were under pressure
Babylon Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Strange how people see games differently, thought he was one of our best players. Does so much covering and never panics on the ball. Watch harder!!! Ha ha. He improved when we got on top, first half poor, started the second half poorly as he seemed to play like the pitch was still drenched. Nearly cost us on several occasions when he didn't release the ball when he could and ended up losing it. But was decent for last 30.
MGLCFC Posted 25 January 2014 Author Posted 25 January 2014 1st half he was pap! But spot on 2nd half First half was farcical. particularly in the centre mid where the ball hardly moved across the surface. However, I'm not debating today's performance, more the importance of James in our promotion push. If he got injured, I fear we may start dropping points.

What makes you the expert Babylon - I think I can watch a game as well as anyone - to me he's a complete midfielder week in week out

Guest seanfox778 Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Surprisingly skilful on the ball too, I've seen him a few times when he's had two players on him and he's managed to wriggle free with the ball
Brookslcfc Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Thought James was class today, he doesn't get the praise he deserves! Him and drink are a great pairing, I like king but can't see him gettin in again for some time
Bayfox Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 For the 1000th time. dd and king look better with james alongside them. This season dd and james. back end of last season james and king. You do the math.
Babylon Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 What makes you the expert Babylon - I think I can watch a game as well as anyone - to me he's a complete midfielder week in week out Well I would hope the "ha ha" gave it away that I was joking. But if you can't remember him giving the ball away then perhaps you blinked. My admiration for James is well recorded. Certainly long before Kingfox joined the bandwagon and decided hes's amazing.
Dickov22 Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Thought he was shite in the main today. Him Konchesky and Dyer were a bloody nightmare down the left losing ball after ball. To an extent I agree. He was crap first half. Gave it away a few times second half too. Last half an hour though he was brilliant

My admiration for James is well recorded. Certainly long before Kingfox joined the bandwagon and decided hes's amazing. I started liking him, ever since the start of last season, when we played Peterborough in the first home game of the season. And I know you like trawling back in time, so why don't you do it on this occasion, before making out, I was calling him shit, something which I have never ever done.

Yes I can remember him giving the ball away in the first half along with numerous others - perhaps the conditions may have had something to do with this. For me, if James got injured, this may have a serious impact on our promotion push. I really think he is the integral part to our success.
