Langston Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 I know it's a bit farfetched, but who would you realistically sign to survive the prem? Just a bit of fun I'd go for : Patrick Bamford- Chelsea Jean Beausejour- Wigan Mustapha Carayol- Middlesborough Gabriel Obertan- Newcastle Kazenga LuaLua- Brighton Hal Robson-Kanu- Reading Elliot Bennett- Norwich Guy Demel- West Ham Jos Hooiveld- Southampton I hope you never get a job in football management, son.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Some silky French lads we've never heard of, that turn out to be great!
Unabomber Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 I'd love to see who Steve Walsh would pick out should we get promoted. We tend to sign players who aren't linked with anyone else which to me suggests that we have a superior scouting network to a lot of teams, so it would be very interesting to see who we would sign should we go up and be spending more money. Who cares who some jokers on foxestalk would sign, because at the end of they day the best thing their going to sign is a next day delivery from amazon.

ousefox Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 IF we do go up I don't see Pearson bringing in an army of players. He's always been a quality over quantity sort of a bloke, a transfer policy that's built up a side that sits eight points clear at the top of the Championship, and I don't see that changing too much. Of the teams currently in the Premier League relegation mix up, I could see Pearson looking at the likes of Whittingham at Cardiff and Adam Johnson at Sunderland. Hope to God he doesn't sign him - been absolutely terrible every time I've seen him play for Sunderland. He isn't a luxury you can afford when fighting relegation IMO.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Big changes are always a bad idea, we will need maybe 3 starting players and maybe another 3 as backup to add depth...
Loggy88 Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 A new left back, possibly an attacking midfielder, and a striker is what we need if we get there.
80footgiraffe Posted 26 January 2014 Author Posted 26 January 2014 Like i said, just a bit of fun. That's who I'd sign.
80footgiraffe Posted 26 January 2014 Author Posted 26 January 2014 Opinions are all valid, i'm not claiming we'll go up or anything, I just wondered what other people thought. I didn't realise I'd cause some members to tear their own dick off

Simonb Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Schmeichel king and pearson.. then extend deals for moore and knocky then look at the new players... gotta get there first tho
Winnershfox Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 I would say lets see what our owners are prepared to put behind an assult on the premier league. Business sense would tell them not a lot, however they might give our Nige 70 million to spend with the consideration that a long stay in the prem may see that money recouperated What happens next season will be very much down to our owners.
Alfie_flowers Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 hopefully the thais open a war chest of money for the premier league, theyve held back abit since sven. just imagine that like spending 50 mill
XLM Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Shouldn't be counting our chickens or anything. But I feel the key mistake Palace have made is not realising that they're squad is still championship. We need to pick out significant quality, given that our squad can already compete with the lower end of the premiership. No doubt Pearson and Walsh will be able to work wonders with a bigger budget.
Alfie_flowers Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 a world level striker 2 midfielders and a full back/defender. 15 mill each.

Two or three might get in the squad. If we went up I wouldn't expect us to sign Ronaldo but I'd be gutted if we didn't give this year's team a chance and bought this bunch to play instead.
Alf Bentley Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 A new left back, possibly an attacking midfielder, and a striker is what we need if we get there. I'd say... Definitely: A left back, an experienced, mobile centre back & a hard-working, goal-scoring striker Probably: A defensive central midfielder & a right back with good defensive qualiities Otherwise, I'd hope that we'd retain and use most of the current 1st team squad (depending on performance/adaptability). I assume that we'd lose most of the current bench players and 1 or 2 of the current 1st team, and that 2 or 3 other first-teamers would become bench/squad players. In other words, a selective transition, with the introduction of a small number of high-quality players and the continuation of most (not all) of the current bunch... All hypothetical for now. Looking good, but only takes 2-3 defeats for things to change....
john doe Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 John terry Anton Ferdinand and Suarez and Evra for team spirit
