Guest Col city fan Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Danny Graham. I think he'd play well for us.
The Man In Black Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 I know it's a bit farfetched, but who would you realistically sign to survive the prem? Just a bit of fun I'd go for : Patrick Bamford- Chelsea Jean Beausejour- Wigan Mustapha Carayol- Middlesborough Gabriel Obertan- Newcastle Kazenga LuaLua- Brighton Hal Robson-Kanu- Reading Elliot Bennett- Norwich Guy Demel- West Ham Jos Hooiveld- Southampton I would sign literally none of them!
The Man In Black Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Striker, Left Wing, Central Midfielder, Left Back and Right Back.
Stadt Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Diame from West Ham if they go down althought it probably won't happen.
kingfox Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Kyle Naughton Steven Caulker(If Cardiff go down) Aaron Cresswell Rodolph Austin Ruben Schaken Alfred Finnbogason Adam Le Fondre
eye666 Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Striker, Left Wing, Central Midfielder, Left Back and Right Back. This + a back-up keeper (sorry Conny) and a top draw CB. The CM should be a defensive minded beast - a Wanyama-type if you will.
Leicesterpool Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 To be honest you shouldn't need to overspent to survive in the premier league, QPR did and within two seasons they were relegated. You only have to look at the success at Swansea and Norwich they've managed to survive nearly three seasons! Leicester probably do need to spent with seasons to come but for their first couple of seasons they need to concentrate on premier league survival. In my option i do think we have a premier league squad that i think can push us into the top ten.
hackneyfox Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Big changes are always a bad idea, we will need maybe 3 starting players and maybe another 3 as backup to add depth... A new left back, possibly an attacking midfielder, and a striker is what we need if we get there. We'd need a lot more than just 3 new players to have any chance of survival.

Foxymcoxy Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 We'd need a lot more than just 3 new players to have any chance of survival. Says who? Think that's bollocks personally, how much has this team improved since last year? If they show the same kind of improvement then there is no reason most of the team can't rise to prem level. Definitely need to strengthen a bit but I would hate to see 6-7 come in to our starting 11.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Would only need 5-6 players including 3 squad ones for me, depending on who leaves (hopefully only Kasper) A new striker, LB, GK. A better back up GK, another winger and CM would also be nice.
KIRBYFOX93 Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 so many people on this forum are massive bellends. jesus what the f**k else are we gonna talk about apart from promotion?? relegation?

cityfanlee23 Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Realistically aren't they all championship standard players.. no better than what we've already got. Would you take carayol over dyer? Bennett over morgan? I wouldnt choose one or the other, but I'd sign carayol like a shot, Not just based on saturday, Few boro mates have been talking him up since he signed, seen him personally quite a few times and think he's a good player
Foxymcoxy Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Says who? Well it was me, that was why you quoted me. That's really witty mate. You stated as if it is fact and that buying loads of players is the only way to succeed in the prem. If there is one thing that the past few years have convinced me of it's that stability is a good thing.

If there is one thing that the past few years have convinced me of it's that stability is a good thing. Thank you, I'm here till the end of the season. Buying loads of good quality premier players is a way to succeed in the premier. I don't believe we have 8 players at the club who will be capable of playing PL football week in, week out, I certainly don't believe that we have the majority of the bench who are capable of the same. That is basically what those who I quoted were saying. It's all about opinions but apparently mine are bollocks.
Corky Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 The squad would need reinforcing, can't see Hammond, GTF, Wasyl and Phillips being used much, if at all. A winger is a must, the midfield I think would do ok with Drinkwater and James, a left-back to help Konchesky, a back-up keeper (hopefully Kasper will stay) and another striker. Pearson and Walsh will have plans in place, doubt we'll be like Palace and just sign anyone.
Guest MattP Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 What an appalling list of suggestions. In all reality we need to try and follow the Swansea/Soton model - focus on 4-5 high quality additions and build them around the young consistent players we are watching this season. Looking at the bottom 6-7 of the league we have nothing to fear.

There's about five players at the moment I see Premier League quality SHOULD they have the necessary additions to really solidify. Pearson's transfer policy has worked terrifically and I reckon Walshy could pick out the players necessary to keep the squad in contention for survival.
