Guest MattP Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Thank you, I'm here till the end of the season. Buying loads of good quality premier players is a way to succeed in the premier. I don't believe we have 8 players at the club who will be capable of playing PL football week in, week out, I certainly don't believe that we have the majority of the bench who are capable of the same. That is basically what those who I quoted were saying. It's all about opinions but apparently mine are bollocks. But you have stated for quite a while that you didn't believe Nigel had built a squad even capable of challenging for promotion this year so might have to take it on the chin that people think you are talking bollocks. The way you talk it's like you think our target would be 6th not 17th. If Palace can make a fight of it this season with their squad we would be able to.
Munshi Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Kasper Kyle Naughton. - I'm actually an admirer of RDL, however his weaker defensive ability would unfortunately show in the Prem, he'd be great backup for Naughton. Morgan. Moore. Fryers. - Young, Fast and a player who is improving all the time. Konchesky as second choice. Knockaert Drinkwater James Scott Sinclair - Almost a forgotten player, still think he would be a great player and could get him on the cheap from Man City. Vardy Guidetti - Always been an admirer and think if we get in the Prem he'd maybe want to come to us on a permanent. Think we'd need a Big and Strong Centre-Mid in aswell to add that physicality thats a must in the premiership nowadays. And a Second choice keeper aswell - Marco Bizot as mentioned in the transfer rumours, 6'5, U21 and Dutch, not bad. Also, Thorgan Hazard as an attacking midfielder, creative and runs at the defences, maybe on loan?
Vlad The Impaler Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 We'd need 6 quality players coming in, i'd go for RB - One of Byram/Trippier CB - Caulker (If Cardiff go down) LB - Aaron Cresswell OR Neil Taylor (Not really featured for Swansea since his injury, good player though) CM - One of Darron Gibson/Cleverely/James Morrison from WBA LM - Routledge ST - Gayle

!-LCFC-! Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Anyone reckon Yakubu would sign back? Try and cut his wages a bit? Would be a good signing for the prem!
conLAD logan Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Anyone reckon Yakubu would sign back? Try and cut his wages a bit? Would be a good signing for the prem! just signed for another club recently actually, so very unlikely
conLAD logan Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 imo i would like to see a team similar to this: Kasper (doesn't look likely atm) de laet moore morgan cresswell drinkwater cork knockaert cleverley mahrez Vardy note: cleverley is very unlikely i know, but hull got huddlestone; so really why not? and also mahrez is only included on the basis he turns out to be supposedly a cross between dyer and knockaert
Stadt Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 As much as Vardy has improved I don't think he'd be able to do it against prem defences.
!-LCFC-! Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 As much as Vardy has improved I don't think he'd be able to do it against prem defences. I think you could be wrong. Seems to get better every game. And with he possibility Kevin Phillips joining the coaching staff at the end of the season, he could become even better with the right coaching.
conLAD logan Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 As much as Vardy has improved I don't think he'd be able to do it against prem defences. i think his work rate alone will help us dearly in the prem and having Vardy up front is more realistic than somehow finding a player for relatively cheap who is going to score us 15 goals. hopefully the players around him can help carry the load to
Vlad The Impaler Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 As much as Vardy has improved I don't think he'd be able to do it against prem defences. Really? I think he'd be a real handful for most premiership defences. A year ago I could never have seen myself saying that, so I could be wrong again, mind.
Unabomber Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 I think it will be interesting to see how Vardy does in the prem, I mean if Dwight Gayle is doing alright I don't think it is beyond Jamie.
!-LCFC-! Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 My team would be: Schmeichel Naughton/Trippier Morgan Moore Taylor/Rodriguez Knockaert Drinkwater L.Bridcutt Mahrez Vardy Guidetti Ricardo Rodriguez would be a big ask and a big buy, but would be a quality signing if we would put the money there!
FoxLAD Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 for me.. Kaspar Trippier Moore Morgan Cresswell James Briddcutt Drinkwater Koncky Nuge.

dave_the_fox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Why are people saying and putting elliott bennet at centre half!?
hackneyfox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 But you have stated for quite a while that you didn't believe Nigel had built a squad even capable of challenging for promotion this year so might have to take it on the chin that people think you are talking bollocks. The way you talk it's like you think our target would be 6th not 17th. If Palace can make a fight of it this season with their squad we would be able to. Have I said that? I think my doubts have been about the manager and a couple of individuals rather than the team as a whole. I've also mentioned that I'm changing my opinion about the manager and individuals as the season progresses. I believe our owners would be hoping for something above 17th, well above, that's why I think we need more than 3 players. Personally I'd be ecstatic with 17th.
eddylcfc Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Kasper Wallace (loan) Moore Morgan Creswell DD James/will hughes Mahrez Knockaert Pablo Hernandez Facundo ferreyra
Guest Col city fan Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Dont forget that any signings we made would need to be 'Pearson type signings' ie. Good professionals, team players, good attitudes etc. I doubt he'd go for anyone who thought they were bigger than Nigel and/or the club. Thats why I thought he might go in for Danny Graham. A player with talent, yet currently underachieving... its probable Nige would get the best out of him and he may well be available? Just a thought..
foxfanazer Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I agree Col. That's why I said Mark Noble would be a good fit
