David. Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 He's been fantastic! Saw some flickers of what he could a couple of times last season and he took some unnecessary stick at times, especially for someone who made a massive step-up the leagues. But the lad's come on leaps and bounds this year. Great stuff- nice one Vards.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 If pens don't count then as Vardy doesn't take pens he must have scored about several more than his official 10 this season now :-/
Father Ted Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 On his current form, I reckon he will hit 20.
Dickov22 Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Loved arguing with what seemed like everyone about the fact he was better than Waghorn even last season! They're not in the same league. What a player
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 We could have 2 strikers hitting the 20 goal mark this season
Sharpe's Fox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 A lesson in coaching and man management from Nige, Shakey and the rest.
Thracian Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Happy to say I've rated him from the first time I saw him although he didn't always show himself at his best. This season he's been a revelation in every way. His goals tally has mounted steadily, he's made so much of chasing seemingly lost causes, he's won penalties, made things happen, has been a constant pain in the opposition butts and been a first class team man with his selflessness.
JonnyBoy Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 hats off to the lad, bloody brilliant this season
Corky Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 He'll get the LCFC equivalent of the Football in the Community's patronising "Most Improved Player" award.
Jace Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Take him to the World Cup let's face it the only chance we could possibly have is if we play with a designated penalty winner, player of the season for me so far
Finnaldo Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 A lesson in coaching and man management from Nige, Shakey and the rest. I think it cuts two ways. Obviously Shakey and Pearson did a good job coaching him up but it would of been useless if the effort and determination wasn't there. He came out several times and said how hard he worked over the summer to improve and that's really shown. So many lower league players move up to a much higher standard, struggle and give in, later returning to where they came from. Vardy's came out of last season having been inconsistent first time round with the fans on his back and showed real grit and determination, and now it's paying off. So a big thumbs up to Vardy, been a real professional and we're all reaping the benefits.

Langston Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Loved arguing with what seemed like everyone about the fact he was better than Waghorn even last season! They're not in the same league. What a player But last season was last season; I defended him but the truth is he found it hard to acclimatise to this level of football and, quite simply - wasn't very good. People would've been well within their rights to stake a claim that Waghorn had more about him last term (not that I was one of them).

MrSpaM Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Playing like he did at Fleetwood, which is great news!
Dickov22 Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 You love bigging yourself up don't ya. No. Just don't like fickle fans who don't know what they're on about
Unabomber Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 No. Just don't like fickle fans who don't know what they're on about I agree, I'm sure many people have always rated Vardy etc but it gets boring people bringing up points telling everyone how right they were.
Langston Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 No. Just don't like fickle fans who don't know what they're on about It isn't fickle to suggest that last season he wasn't very good and struggled to adapt; and most fans that flat out slated him seem to have held their hands up and admitted he's come on an almost infinite amount.

Unabomber Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 It's quite satisfying though I prefer a flan.

Correct, more short sighted and lacking in knowledge than fickle..

A lot gave him dogs abuse on here and twitter. He has improved dramatically I agree. No one could have predicted it
Langston Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Correct, more short sighted and lacking in knowledge than fickle.. I don't even think it's lacking in knowledge. I hate boo boys but on the other side of the coin I doubt even the staunchest of Vardy advocates could've predicted the complete u-turn in his performance this season. His movement and finishing at times last season bordered on woeful, I'm aware he struggled with injuries and fitness but there were instances it seemed he didn't want to help himself. I expected him to improve this season but never to this extent, as well as looking fitter his all round intelligence seems to have seriously developed. A lot of people would've written fair and balanced that criticisms of Vardy last season that would've been engulfed in "VARDEH IS SHIT" nonsense and tarred with that brush, being cast aside as tripe. Not every moan is for the sake of it, some are of merit. There was also a sizeable few that wanted to see him go out to Wednesday to prove himself, more of our fans were behind the guy than people initially think.
Guest Col city fan Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 The funniest thing of all re Vardy are those who were claiming he's the same player this season that he was last season. Is he bollox! He's much better. City have taken a raw talent and honed him into a far superior one. It will be interesting to see if he can become even better.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Surprised nobody has said that tonight's goal was a superb effort. Lovely jink in the box. Nice one Reg
