kingfox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 8 wins in a row is absolutely fantastic and all that, but please don't let it overshadow the fact, that Jamie Vardy tonight has just reached double figures. What an absolute turnaround from last season, when he only managed five goals, and we didn't think he was cut out for Championship football. All his goals this season, have come in the league also. The lad deserves endless praise tonight, what a player he has turned into
ousefox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Thought he didn't have a hope at the end of last season. Can't fault him at all this season. Fantastic season.
HoustonFox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Turning into a real cracker of a player. Shows what confidence and the right coaching can do. Talent and natural raw pace were always there.
Stadt Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I'll happily hold my hand up and admit I thought he was sh*t last season. Well done Jamie.
halfpipe Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Imagine if he was our penalty taker as well - he'd be looking at close to 30 goals by the end of the season, surely?
Carl the Llama Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 And we all thought Pearson broke strikers at one point. Far from it!
WinslowFox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Probably one of my favourite players this season, I always thought he had it in him to come good but knew it would take time, I always thought we might of loaned him out last season to a league 1 club to gain much needed experience of a higher level. But his work rate and desire is second to none, I think one of the main reasons why we are where we are!!
Tom17LCFC Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Yeah I'd completely disregarded him last season but he's proved me wrong! Sensational season.
Fox92 Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Said during the summer on here that we just needed to stick with him. The jump was to big for his first season. He showed potential last season, I remember Blackburn away when he looked brilliant, but has really stepped up this season.... Never gives up and plays for the team. Really do like him.
fazzyfox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Phone call any time now;- "Woy Hodgson here, you twemendous twicky stwiker, fancy a twip to Bwazil?" Vardy:- "F*** off Nuge you cheeky t**t" Hodgson puts down phone " Oh well I twied"
Buzzell Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Unbelievable turnaround from the lad. Brilliant season so far, hope he keeps it up.
Jakemoore Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I'll put my hands up and say i thought he was crap last year but my oh my he deserves so much credit this season! He's been super!!!
STUHILL Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I remember saying to friend at start of season "Oh crap, Vardy is starting!".... How wrong I was. One of the first names on the sheet now. Let this be a lesson to us all, to not write players off too early!
XLM Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Thing is if he can build even further on his game, maybe improve his decision making, and can do what he's doing in the premiership, there's no reason why he can't get an England call up. Rickie Lambert should act as proof that players from the lower leagues can make it.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Knew he would come good, considering he came from non league football it was obviously going to take him a while to adjust
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Have to hold my hands up and say never thought he'd make it, the zenith being that pen he gave away (vs Watford?) where I started to scapegoat him. And never been happier to be wrong about a player he's probably my favourite now. How good can he be?
Lobsterboyuk Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Had a great game tonight, loving him this season, boy's come good
irishfox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Will also admit, I thought he wasn't good enough for this level and absolutely delighted to be proved wrong.. Listened on a stream tonight from Ireland and from what I hear from Youngy he made a couple of bad decisions in front of goal, all to be worked on in the training ground no doubt. I'm going to have a Jamie Vardy type party tonight :
