Hugo Sanchez Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Got in the champions league. Would you pay the £77 quid that their charging Man City fans. Plus their no kids prices either. You think, if we ever did get in the champions league ( not holding my breath ) How much would our wonderful owners charge us ? Would you pay over £60 to watch us play in the champions league every season ?
Guest MattP Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Considering they are charging 40 for a seat v Watford on Saturday I would dread to think......
Dan Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 I can accept paying high prices for the genuine top games although I don't really have a policy as such.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 4 February 2014 Author Posted 4 February 2014 Considering they are charging 40 for a seat v Watford on Saturday I would dread to think...... Exactly what I was thinking, the thing is though bert. If you was playing champions league football every year. Could anyone generally afford to keep paying for all the games ? League Cup, F.A Cup, Premier League and Champions league !!! How the hell do people afford it. I'm guessing no one takes coaches to Madrid anymore
Donut Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 i think youre confusing the issue, you said Barcelona AWAY in the title, and then go on to talk about our owners at home. So yes id pay £77 for Barcelona away most likely, but these are two seperate issues. It wouldnt be £77 for Staeua Buccharest at home. Youd hope

How much do The germans charge away fans in the champions league ? Alot of people bum Dortmund but how much did they charge arsenal fans ? Can see it being over £50.
Harry - LCFC Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Can you imagine what it'd be like to win a European tie away? It's the prospect of that happening that would no doubt lure me in to paying over the top. Occasions like that really are life experiences, very hard to put on a price on that kind of thing.

Youd hope But do you think £77 is a fair price to watch a game of football ?? Does anyone think we would sell the 4400 allocation out ? Can't see us taking 4400 on a Wednesday night with tickets at £77.

Can see it being over £50. Pretty sure I read Bayern/Dortmund charged something like £30. It wasn't dirt cheap but it was great value compared to some clubs. Bilbao charged 90 euros to Schalke for the Europa League. But do you think £77 is a fair price to watch a game of football ?? Does anyone think we would sell the 4400 allocation out ? Can't see us taking 4400 on a Wednesday night with tickets at £77. Wouldn't be surprised if we did though. This is a potential once in a lifetime fixture.

Yeah but what about if you was in the champions league every year ? Surely the novelty would wear off eventually. Shall someone go on the forest board and ask ? After all they're use to big European games every season ...
Bayfox Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Yes. Barca in the champions league and leicester city. Oh I just came a little.
Donut Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Id say for a MEANINGFUL once in a lifetime game against opposition like Barcelona, it would be justifiable in my opinion yes
Kitchandro Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 No. Well, maybe as a one time thing, but not regularly. Especially as I could watch it on TV.
Nick Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 I'm not sure at this juncture it's worth worrying about but yeah, I'd pay it!
RowlattsFox Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 I don't think I'd be able to justify that kind of money for anything other than a final. Factor in travel as well and it's gets ridiculous, for a football match.
Uncle Albert Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 I've always wondered how the United die hard fans manage to go to every away Champions League game, because there are some who don't miss a game.. Like how do they find the money, the time off from work and what not.
RowlattsFox Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Saying that, it's easy to say you wouldn't pay it now but jot be able to resist should it ever happen.

Shall someone go on the forest board and ask ? After all they're use to big European games every season ... I was assuming we weren't going to be a regular in that competition but as you mention it no, I don't think I would keep going for those prices and I'd accept missing out on a number of them.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Actually went there on Saturday to watch them play Valencia. We'd have given them a game, poorest I've seen them play for a while! Vardy would have had a field day! Okay maybe not, but enjoyed celebrating the City result on the way out of the stadium.
Fox92 Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 If it was the other way around and the English club were charging £77 with no child prices, people would be kicking off.

I would love to go to a big Champions league away match with city but every season I think the novelty would wear off. Imagine Moscow in winter ... Couldn't see us taking more then 500 because how do you afford it ?
