chili_con_carne Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 Got a feeling this lad is going to be a player. Seen him play a few times and looks very good. 20 years of age. Could become a squad player next season or most likely on loan to a championship club. League 1 at lowest. Anyone else seen him play?
LCFC FOX Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 He's been injured for months hasn't he? Don't put too much pressure on a youth player though
Stevosevic Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 20 - surely would have been involved by now if he was going to break through with us? Especially if we are promoted.

chili_con_carne Posted 14 February 2014 Author Posted 14 February 2014 Prasise from Luton fans aswell
Guest MattP Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 If he's going to be around the squad in the top flight he should be making an impression in the championship by now. I like what I've seen from him but he's miles away from Drinks and James level and not that much younger. Must be weird for development players, in a way you wouldn't want us to go up as it diminishes your chances of playing for us.

To be honest mate, It wouldnt matter to me (Unless you supported leicester) Wouldnt matter to me if leicester went up and I realised I had no chance of playing for them... Either you are good enough or you are not.. If you think you are, stick around and prove it in training... If you are not good enough, you were never going to play anyway, so stick in a transfer request and go somewhere you can play...
1964FOX Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 He's a decent player well not a lot of people know that - Sorry.
chili_con_carne Posted 14 February 2014 Author Posted 14 February 2014 If promotion is confirmed early then expect him to get game time. Pearson is not going to risk him now with so much at stake. He is still 19 but 20 this month. All I'm saying is expect his breakthrough season to be next season. Probably on loan.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 IF we secure the title with games to spare would love to see him and Adam Dawson given some sort of run out. Surprised he hasn't had a spell out on loan
Bert Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 He is absolute quality. Wellens rates him very highly, he kept saying to Pearson that he needs to be involved with the first team squad a while back.

Yes that was during our appalling run last season but Nigel refused to risk him, this season it's easy to see why he's not been given a chance with how well we've been doing. He's also had a slow start to this season for the U21's but in the last 2 months he's been quality by all accounts. He picked up an injury that was rumoured to be ligament damage but he was back in business within a few weeks. I'm surprised he's not yet gone out on loan, especially given how highly thought of he is. I'd have him out in League One until the end of the season.
Fox92 Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 Can't comment on his ability considering I've never seen him play, but some of the 'reviews' I've read of him are excellent. Always nice to see a young player come through, could happen if we have 'nothing to play for' (in a sense), lack of pressure etc.
Kitchandro Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 I bet he never plays for us in the league.
Buzzell Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 Never heard of him, never seen him play and he won't be in first team anytime soon.

If you are not good enough, you were never going to play anyway, so stick in a transfer request and go somewhere you can play... Always want home grown youth players to come through but of course they have to be of the required quality. We cant have situations like we did with Matt Heath/Levi Porter where people were looking at through with rose tinted specs trying to convince themselves they were good enough when they were nowhere near the standard of ability we needed for what we wanted to achieve. That quality will hopefully be jumping massively next season after promotion (fingers crossed) and if the lads are struggling to get around the Championship squad now at the age of 20 I don't hold out too much hope that they will be regular Premier League footballers at anytime in their career. He won't be being shifted into the side later in the season for dead games either, James and Drinkwater will be playing as many games together as possible as I expect us to go into the top flight with those two as starters.
Dan Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 I've always liked the look of Cain when I've seen him. Looks very calm on the ball, eye for a pass - but sadly what chance does he have of getting in now? Andy King, a midfielder who would be the best midfielder for a lot of clubs in this league, can't even get into our side at the minute. Never really seen Dawson. I quite rate that Alie Sesay.
Guest MattP Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 I quite rate that Alie Sesay. Yeah he looked good on the occasions I've watched him, another one who is nearly 20 though. One thing I've noticed compared to others is how old our "youth team" is, Derby's seems to be full of 16/17 year olds and ours 19/20 year olds, probably due to our spending comparison Derby have had to push the Hughes, Brysons etc into the first team. If you play in a youth team it's probably a good idea to get yourself into a club that is skint and you'll end up needing to be called upon so you will get that to prove yourself.
lgfualol Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 We've got a few quality youth players. Shame they're all going to probably play in the reserves until they lose interest and move on.
LeicesterBran Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 I like the look of Michael and think he could be a good player in the future. I'd like to see Pearson give him a chance in the first team. Hope we see him involved when we have got promoted. Reckon he'll get loaned out either this season or next season.
