Let's be honest

Really do hate the word "retard" being banded around as some kind of insult. Incredibly childish, although I do half agree that some people are getting ahead of themselves.

I do apologise Harry I wasnt meaning to insult anyone (honest)

We are the only side in the league who could be disappointed with second.

We are the only side in the league who wouldn't be surprised to be champions.

Burnley will be looking at QPR, sheep and trees, and they'll all be looking at Burnley. If we end up in the mix it won't be anyone's fault but ours.

We just need to keep doing what we're doing. We can afford a bad patch, and no one else can. It's not over, absolutely not, but I'm enjoying expecting results more than hoping for them, and if we keep it up we will win the league. I'll be disappointed if we're not promoted in April, Champions in May. I'll be surprised if we're not promoted automatically. And I'll be astonished if those people claiming to have feet on the ground would be anything less than shocked and gutted should we end up in the Championship next year.

We all know it can be thrown away, but if you can't get a bit carried away and enjoy our position now, you never ever will. Ease up with the 'realistic' threads: realistically teams will go up 95%+ of the time with the lead we have.

Huh? Don't think your getting me at all bud

Should make the play offs err YES

Should get promoted Far from certain but YES

Should go up as champs very distinctly possible YES

But NONE of these objectives have been obtained yet

Fear of anything? Only ourselves to blame if we fook it up now

But as I keep saying can't we just TRY and ENJOY it as it unfolds ? Maybe ?

Id say we need a few more wins(or to keep a similar 10 point gap to 3rd) in a month or so. If were say 10 points clear around 36-37 games played..this is when it will be at a point where anything other than a record breaking collapse, we'll be there.

Right now, whilst admitting it would be very bad to not get promoted from here, Id say were not quite late enough into the season for it to be 'UNBELIEVABLE' if we were to throw it away..we could quite easily lose tomorrow, drop points at home to Ipswich then the pressure is on against Charlton, chasing teams get confident and theres a gap of less than 3 points to 3rd.

Conversly if we get a result or 2 over the next 5 or 6 games..even if we drop silly points we could keep the same kind of distance and remain relativly unscaved.

Itll be interesting but we need a few results more before its gets to the 'unthinkable' collapse zone.

better to be 9 up than 9 down.

Is there anyone on this forum who thought we'd have so much clear space between us and the rest of the league at this stage of the season?

Every team is going to drop points between now and the end of the season. We can afford to drop more than any other and still get automatic promotion.

Yeah, sorry-talent borrows and genius steals...

I was leading up to trying to say that people can post reserved sensible posts as long as they like, in the end if we don't go up from here we'll all be as gutted as each other. Playing it all down for the benefit of future trolls () won't make losing any easier, and they might just miss out on the best time to be a Leicester fan for at least a decade.

I think we've done enough to make the play offs. We're 21 points clear of Wigan in 7th, it will take what must be the biggest fall in football league history for us to finish outside the top 6. I don't think it's going to happen. And lets think about tonight, for example, we're in a position where QPR sit fourth and will not want Nottingham Forest to get a result.

It's this week I'm feeling nervous about the most. Yeah I'm well excited to be going tonight, and I'd certainly take a draw, but I just don't want us to come out the game with nothing and then do the same on Saturday. These are two tough fixtures and we don't need pressure on us.

Every team will drop points, it's football, it happens, teams have to play each other (Burnley play Forest followed by Derby) but I don't think we can hint that we will drop points. Cardiff did it last season, then people came out with the "bottlers" stuff and "of Hull and Watford might catch them up here" which is bad enough in the mind never mind on the field.

I agree

All I'm saying is I'm getting a bit fed up of people jumping the fookin gun

Let's just try and enjoy things as we make them happen

I will be labelled a killjoy by the rabble for that one though

People are trying to enjoy one of the best seasons we've had for ten years which will, in all likelihood, end in us getting promoted. But if we show any sign of ambition or hope that we might infact get promoted, we get shouted down by posters like you calling us 'fooking retards' or telling us to 'get a grip'.

I posted this in a similar thread:

Seriously, what's the problem with people entertaining the idea of us getting promoted? Jesus, if we can't do it - who can? It seems there are plenty of people on here getting annoyed about it because a) it might somehow make the team complacent, which is a bizarre viewpoint, or b) we might look a bit daft if we don't get promoted. Well I hate to break it to you, if we **** it up and don't get promoted now, it's not these threads that are going to make us look stupid.

People know we're not there yet, but we're easily the best placed team in the league to get promoted at the minute and people are enjoying it, thinking about us finally being back where we belong, what players we might bring in. Surely this is what football is all about? It would be pretty bleak and boring if we're not allowed to talk about any kind of success in case we **** it up.

If these threads really bother some people, then they can always just ignore them. No-one's forcing you to post in here. If you want to wait and see what happens, fine, but some of us have faith that we'll finish the job. We don't really need you lot coming along and telling us off for having a bit of optimism.

Seriously, if you can't get a bit excited or dare to dream when we're on the verge of being ten points clear at the end of February, then what enjoyment do you ever get out of supporting your club? Enjoy the ride, for fox sake.

I thought that's what everyone was doing?

No I'm not really getting you tbf.

It wasn't so long ago people were bricking it because Burnley and QPR could both close the gap to 8 points if they won their games in hand. It's us that now has the game in hand and the ability to make it a 10 and 12 points gap, with everyone on equal games!

Posted

What's with all the doom and gloom? We've had 10 years of, for the most part, shit. Can't we enjoy the season we're having and dream - after 21 points clear of 7th with 16 games left, even relegation form (1ppg) would see Wigan needing 37 points from 16 (2.31ppg), or 13 wins from 16. Anyone still saying we might not make the playoffs, well what do you get out of football, because clearly you're beyond pessimistic.

Is this just an off the cuff general rant or is it actually aimed at someone?

I'll stand up and be counted, we are top and clear. Simple really. And if we don't go straight up then it's our own fault. I haven't enjoyed a season so much for a long time. With the trees out of the way we have a nice run of games that will consolidate our position and set us up for a party at reading.

I've seen nothing from us or any other team to suggest that we are not the best side in the league.

4pts from Forest & Ipswich and hopefully my nervousness will ease up so I can enjoy it more.

Tonight's game in particular is a massive one for both sides as we're currently the best two sides in the division

4pts from Forest & Ipswich will do nicely

Sometimes you have to remind yourself how good we have been.

A lad at work asked about decent opposing players I'd seen this year at our place, I could barely think of one as we were almost always the better team and were mostly on top.

Forest have more to worry about than us!

This..

Our season so far has been nothing short of sensational really.

I fear no-one in the division.

However, I do have a feeling in mi water about tonight. I think we'll lose. Hope I'm wrong.

I've had "that feeling" for Leeds, Derby, Millwall, Watford amongst others... starting to think I have an infection.

Threads like this are why I dislike so many other Leicester fans.

People generally seem unhappy when we do well, as they just want something to moan at.

We are top of the league and will remain their.

I used to think we would finish 10 points clear at the end of the season, but now I think it will be even more. :scarf: I don't understand the negativity. Yeah it could go wrong, but we are top, :scarf:  pulling away from the pack :scarf: and we are the best team in the league. :scarf:  If we can't enjoy it now, when can we? ...and we will beat Forest tonight. :scarf: ENJOY IT, it doesn't get better than this!! :celebrate:
