Tielemans63 Posted 3 March 2014 Posted 3 March 2014 He wasn't made captain because he's an arrogant **** - anyone see his interview on BBC news today? Deluded.
Super_horns Posted 3 March 2014 Posted 3 March 2014 Having heard him on 5live just he is clearly bitter about particular people being picked ahead but saying its down to colour is wrong and actually is making a lot of unfounded allegations which hardly help his argument.
Bryn Posted 3 March 2014 Posted 3 March 2014 He's damaged, Sol Campbell, I'm telling you, and I'm not saying this to be funny, he'd be on my watchlist for serious depression and worse if I was working for one of those mental health in football charities.
Corky Posted 3 March 2014 Posted 3 March 2014 I doubt most fans would care what skin colour their captain has. Ours certainly don't, Morgan is the best man for the job, leads by example on the pitch and organises the team. I'm sure if managers felt Campbell was the best man, having worked with him in matches, training sessions, meetings and watching him for his club sides, they would've appointed him as captain.
Dan Posted 5 March 2014 Posted 5 March 2014 I see the media have basically ignored it. So we'll have a tv docco on a handful of underdeveloped and drunk forest fans furtively chanting something they think makes them look well 'ard but a black man launches a racist attack on the entire population and it's just let go. What a wonderful liberal world we live in One way street.
Dan Posted 5 March 2014 Posted 5 March 2014 Only said it in an attempt to sensationalise his book and sell a few more copies I'd like to hope if the British public have any sense then the sales will drop dramatically. If I publicised a racist comment like that, I'd be done for it. Why isn't he?
Captain... Posted 5 March 2014 Posted 5 March 2014 I'd like to hope if the British public have any sense then the sales will drop dramatically. If I publicised a racist comment like that, I'd be done for it. Why isn't he? Is it a racist comment though? If I said I got picked on at school because I was white, am I being racist, or just deluded and completely overlooking my obvious personality flaws. Accusing others of racism, is not the same as being racist, he is not at any point saying that there is anything wrong with being white, just that being black held him back. Not saying he is right, his comment was stupid, ill advised, cynical and pretty offensive, but I don't see it as racist.

It's a race motivated snipe at people who have helped him and given him chances in his career. It's indirect racism, if there's such a thing. It's easily as bad. I think the reason he was never captain's been exposed really. Could you imagine if a character with this victim mentality was England captain? Jesus Christ we'd never get anywhere.
Uncle Albert Posted 5 March 2014 Posted 5 March 2014 Worse than that **** Alex Ferguson for making ludicrous comments to sell a book. Also on a side note, the (insert your own insult) who said Woodgate would have been better than Ferdinand and Terry.. !
Parafox Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 what chance has a gay black man ever got of being England captain? Quite a good chance if you're also in the Disability World cup
