Culletonfox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 When Nigel came back to us after the Sven era with the strap line "I have unfinished business here at Leicester" we all thought it would be promotion via the playoffs! Now it seems we are blowing away teams and running away with this division, surely he will attract attention of some top half clubs in the prem because of his impressive signings and football style of play! If this were to happen what is everyone's thoughts regarding his ambitions with us? I would like to think he will stay with us and try and get into Europe! Do you think he will be given big money to push on or will this be the best success we will experience.
jonthefox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I reckon we could be a top ten side with Pearson (given reasonable funding of course). Being Leicester, could we possibly ask for any more?.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 He's easily capable of making us a regular premiership side. His potential knows no bounds. I'd also trust him not to waste any money and his signings are always shrewd anyway. The bloke is God
Renart Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Newcastle might well be looking for a new manager soon
Fox92 Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I can't express how much I actually love the guy being our manager. Gutted when he left, thrilled when he came back. Have always believed in him, even during that horrid won last season... There's only one Nigel Pearson.
Nick Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Certainly deserves the time and the opportunity. Trading in the Championship though seems to me to be a bit different to the Prem in terms of buying players - It's even a big jump to the top half of the Prem table from the middle - Just ask David Moyes.
Culletonfox Posted 2 March 2014 Author Posted 2 March 2014 I'm intrigued to see what type of players he will sign! We all know you need that extra quality to do well in the prem and £1m players are not enough......
cityfanlee23 Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 It will be interesting to see how he handles some bigger names, It's blatantly obvious that he wont be able to build a squad good enough to be comfortably clear from relegation with all championship signings, He is not stupid and knows he will need to sign players with experience. Unfortunately with that normally comes a price, Either in wages, Fee, Or attitude! Can see somebody like Jenas coming in TBH, Rated him for a while
Culletonfox Posted 2 March 2014 Author Posted 2 March 2014 I like that Tripper at Burnley or what about Ings? Although I reckon he will go overseas.
jonthefox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 We need to look at players who aren't getting a look in with their clubs. Jack Rodwell springs to mind. I guess it depends a lot on wages though.
LeicesterLuke91 Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Always liked sako at wolves. Big brute in midfield. Overseas players tend to be cheaper than English but our scout system seems to do the job right recently

Can see somebody like Jenas coming in TBH, Rated him for a while Judging by his previous signing strategy, Pearson would probably go for anyone but for "bigger names". And if we should be signing a more well-known name in the game, it's highly likely to be someone with a positive attitude and a great working ethos. Who says we'd need to build an entirely new team in order to be able to compete in the top tier?

Culletonfox Posted 2 March 2014 Author Posted 2 March 2014 We definitely need another LB! A top striker, although I think Vardys pace will do well in the prem. Another keeper to keep Kasper inform, and a creative midfielder with prem experience. Just 4 players IMO.
sdb Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Moses, Rodwell, Sinclair are nice ideas. Not a fan of us splashing out £40/50/60k a week on players instantly though (I think they'd expect that, depressingly). Jenas - no thanks!

Lionator Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 deffo!! I wouldn't mind Scott Sinclair. Rodwell and Sinclair messed there careers going man city You've seen what Huddlestone has done for Hull, we need someone in the same mould.
Alex_LCFC Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Neil Taylor at Swansea would be great addition at LB. He hasn't really had a chance since he broke his leg early last season
Bettsj2 Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I genuinely think our current team could compete Me too. I think they'd finish lower mid table. A couple of additions in the right area and top 10 and above. COME ON CITEH!!!
NewburyFox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Neil Taylor at Swansea would be great addition at LB. He hasn't really had a chance since he broke his leg early last season That's a good shout. He's going to be back up to Ben Davies for a while it seems.
LAprice_ Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 You've seen what Huddlestone has done for Hull, we need someone in the same mould. He reminds me a lot of Matty James. Not the quickest but ALWAYS seems to have so much time on the ball. Note how Hull play with two central-midfielders who know eachother's game inside out. Just like James and Drinky. After looking at other threads and doing a bit of research myself, one name that does come to mind is Tom Cleverley. He's a decent player who's been used as a scapegoat at Man U. He has played with James and Drinkwater in a Man U reserve team that had something like a 19 game unbeaten run. Like most others, I always assumed that Pearson didn't like big-name players... But actually, I think it's more a case of him not liking 'big-ego players'. Danns, Beckford and Mills are not big names. They are big egos. My one request is that we don't turn into 'one of those teams' that ends up with your journey men egos like Peter Odemwingie, Fabio and Bent. We can be better than that.
Brooksy Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I reckon Ryan Bertrand would be a decent replacement for Konchesky. Realistic shout too as he's currently on loan at Villa.
