lancyclaret Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Leicester take another giant stride towards the title while Burnley see their hopes of finishing 2nd boosted without even playing. Bolton get a battling draw to deprive the Rams of two vital points while the Seagulls deal a severe blow to QPR's hopes od automatic. Hope Burnley can capitalise on this helping hand at Birmingham tonight and even a point would be very useful after Rams/Hoops slip-ups. On paper, Burnley should win but they might find it difficult to get pumped up after the emotions of Sunday's long-awaited Derby win. Even if we win, I don't think Burnley have a realistic chance of catching the Foxes. If you offered me a draw for our clash at Turf Moor later this month, I'd probably take it.

The consistency of LCFC and Burnley is what has got us both tantalisingly close to automatic promotion. Last night demonstrated the fact that those below us are going to drop points. I think Wigan will drop points tonight. Cannot see any reason why both of our form should dip enough to allow the "chasing pack to overhaul us"
lancyclaret Posted 12 March 2014 Author Posted 12 March 2014 I have heard Blues have a Man City loanee Emyr Huws who has been earning rave reviews and won his first full cap for Wales last week and was rated the best player after Gareth Bale. I hope Burnley have done their homework on him or he could dominate the midfield.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 I have heard Blues have a Man City loanee Emyr Huws who has been earning rave reviews and won his first full cap for Wales last week and was rated the best player after Gareth Bale. I hope Burnley have done their homework on him or he could dominate the midfield. Not to be complacent but I think you should win tonight comfortably, to be fair as you've already said even a draw keeps things ticking along nicely

They have been hopeless at home all season and haven't played well for ages. 2-0 to Burnley.
Devonfox1884 Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Lancyclaret, your burnley side are a bloody good team and you are an extremely well-run club, i hope we both go up this season. I think you will win 1-0 tonight, ings of course.
Vlad the Fox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 If Burnley win tonight I can't see anyone catching them and we can both then concentrate on the race for the Championship. While I hope burnley come up with us I'll be cheering brum tonight. I want the rest of our season to be a procession with cigar smoke drifting across the kp and the regular chink of champagne flutes to be heard coming from the jovial stands.
RobHawk Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Its great to see another sensible fan from rival teams on here! Its going to take a monumental **** up from us or Burnley, or a great run from one of the teams below for either of the top 2 to change! Personally i cant see it, but stranger things have happened!
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Birmingham have gone 12 league games at home without a win. Burnley have won five of their last six. Then again, Blackpool won their first league game in 18 attempts last night so miracles do happen...
hackneyfox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Good luck tonight, I think you'll won comfortably. I'd definitely take a draw at your place Why would you wish good luck to our rivals for the Championship title? I want everyone beneath us to lose games.

The form that we are both in, and with the tie at Turf Moor where you haven't lost all season, I don't think either of us should take a draw. There's two sides more than capable of winning the game and it should make for a fantastic one.
morris1234 Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Birmingham have been awful at home haven't they? Surely a burnley win.
foxfanazer Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Why would you wish good luck to our rivals for the Championship title? I want everyone beneath us to lose games. Just being civil And I don't think Brum have a chance in hell
lancyclaret Posted 12 March 2014 Author Posted 12 March 2014 Birmingham have been awful at home haven't they? Surely a burnley win. But I am a superstitious person. Birmingham have not won for 12 home games. So Lucky 13th attempt? Burnley are unbeaten in 12 league games. So "Unlucky 13"? That great run we had at the start of the season. We were unbeaten in 12 (8 wins 4 draws) and then we lost next game 2-1 at Huddersfield. Blues will have a big crowd backing them tonight (£10 for home fans and £1 for kids). Still, not many teams have TWO 12-game unbeaten runs in the same season.

Their fans are fed up, their owner is in jail and they really are woeful.
Finnegan Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Emyr Huws is a great prospect and the next in a fairly long line of good central midfielders we've churned out over the last twenty years. I'm pretty confident he'll be a solid top flight footballer, he's very composed and can both break up the game and distribute well with a deft first touch. All of that said, he's really not going to win a game against a team of Burnley's calibre single handed. No excuses for your lot if you can't put them to bed, they're collectively pretty shit.
Swarles Barkley Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Lancyclaret Im surprised you think you can't catch us. We have some very tough away games against yourselves, Brighton, Reading and wigan where potentially we could easily lose 1/2 putting you within 2pts of us. Could be a very close finish to the end of the season. If i was Burnley I would definitely be looking up rather than down! Good luck for the rest of the season but not enough so you could catch us!
Kitchandro Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Leicester and Burnley are up. It's like the other promotion chasing sides are ushering us through the door. I think if we avoid defeat at Turf Moor we'll have the title sewn up, so I'd be happy with a point there. The only other game I'm worried about is Wigan really. We should beat everyone else.
Munshi Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Why would we take a draw at Burnley? We're flying at the moment, top of the league and playing some sensational stuff, I'm going into any game we have believing we should come out with all three points. We've shown this season that we are capable. For Example, we went to Qpr, I think it was on the back of two away losses and a draw at home to Burnley. They themselves were unbeaten at home but we played brilliantly and came away with all three points. Aim High.
