Leaving before the final whistle?

Don't usually leave before the end of a match. I do, however vividly recall the villa game in 2004.

I had a right tantrum after Crouch scored the 5th. Kicked my seat a few times and stormed off to the 9 bar.

This.

it hardly affects anyone else.

It's not the idea that it effects others. It's just WHY??

You pay a lot of money, as has been said, you wouldn't leave a movie, 5-10 mins early.

For us, a home game is a 10 hour commitment, so leaving before the end -WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? Even a local game ( Bournemouth), stay and applaud YOUR team off. No doubt we'll see more of this 'plasticness' next year in the PL.

I once left early at Villa but that was my own safety, I was in the Villa end and like a dick cheered when Claridge scored,by the time Parker scored a pen before half time my life was in danger!

I can understand if the boys are 2 or 3 down, but at 1 behind, drawing or winning, anything could happen-the last 5 mins are the best and most nerve-wracking in the match, sometimes i feel physically sick-but would i miss the last 5 mins of the match? Not for anything. COYB.

Unfortunately Steve, I fear you are correct.

Nah you are wrong it can effect a lot of people on the row, then those behind when they all stand up. They then congregate on the stairs blocking folks view, its selfish and a piss take... You can't care that much if you leave your seat at anytime during the game.

if its crap you would

No, in 53 years I never have.

I pay my money, I watch what is served up.

If its good ( let's face it, this season has been great), then we are happy to stay.

If its rubbish?? Well, as I have taught my 5 children, that is all part of the whole experience of supporting a real football team.

What if you're on an aisle swat or the people around you are standing in any case?

It wouldnt take you until 5 mins before the end to work out a film is rubbish. Youd have some kind of fvcking idea of what you were getting into by the actors in it and the genre of the film.

Unless youre the same people who leave a game on a knife edge to beat "traffic". It carries about as much logical thought to it.

These people probably pull out before they climax.

Regardless, you will still obstruct someones view at thats not fair.

The ones at half time are worse. Can't they sit still for 45 minutes? The ones leaving at the end may have something on in the evening or may need to beat the traffic to get somewhere quickly.

Your stupid if you leave before the final whistle. I have been to hundreds of football matches and never ever left before the final whistle and never will. Football is so unpredictable, what if Man City fans left 5 minutes early against QPR that season etc. I can't tell you how many goals or late drama I would have missed if I left early.

This thread is pathetic. Leaving early just because your team is losing is unnacceptable. But for the people who are actually making a commitment to going to the game and have other things to do, long journey's back etc. its totally understandable. Better to have bothered turning up and supporting them at all than not. Personally, I've only ever left one game early and that's because my uncle was driving and left (I was 13 at the time).

Nice to see the Gestapo making a comeback though

If you have to leave early because of traffic especially if you live far then fair enough. But if you leave 5-10 minutes early for no reason what so ever then quite frankly your a twat.

What pisses me off is some go to leave, but then decide to stand up against the railing bit & block myself and others view, if your going just fook off.
