svensson Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 This thread is pathetic. Leaving early just because your team is losing is unnacceptable. But for the people who are actually making a commitment to going to the game and have other things to do, long journey's back etc. its totally understandable. Better to have bothered turning up and supporting them at all than not. Personally, I've only ever left one game early and that's because my uncle was driving and left (I was 13 at the time). Nice to see the Gestapo making a comeback though Rubbish, if you have taken 4 hrs to drive somewhere what difference is an extra 20mins? As I have said, if you leave early, you musn't care all that much.
Larry_LCFC Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 If I choose to leave a few minutes early to avoid traffic, that's my business. I certainly won't be hanging my head in shame because some jumped up little keyboard warrior says so.
Number 6 Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Folks, save yourselves loads of traffic time by not going to the game at all :-)

Larry_LCFC Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Just dont get in my way when you are pushing past then.I sit on the end seat by the stairs, so I don't need to push past anyone. Don't let that stop your one man crusade though.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 I only ever leave early when the game is dead. Left Barnsley probably a minute before final whistle and sprinted to car to get home quicker. Was back in Pboro by 2330 so makes a big difference. Never leave early when there still time for anything left in the game
Fox92 Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Don't get why people are so bothered about others leaving early. You don't know where they're going. Might be unrealistic but what if they've got an emergency, a flight, work to get to, etc. Plenty of people live outside of Leicestershire.
Dan Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Let them do what they want. You won't catch me leaving early but if people want to do one before the best bit then they spite no-one but themselves. My mate who supports Newcastle left that Newcastle 4-4 Arsenal game a few years ago at half time
Monsell1976 Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 I am disabled and stand in l1, even though it causes me great pain to do this, but I won't let the pain I suffer stop me getting involved in the atmosphere, and supporting my team. What I can't do is que down the stairs after standing for 90 minutes, because the pain is unbearable, so on 85 minutes me and my young son walk down a clear walkway and watch the tv, but not in the stands to applaud the players, as much as I would like to. What I think needs to be considered before making threads question peoples motives for leaving early, maybe look at the bigger picture, and understand there are many reason why people leave early, wether that is they live a long way away and those few minutes can save an hour, or medical reasons. Also when I am watching the closing minutes on the tv, there is hundreds doing the same, and everybody goes mental at the final whistle, the same as those still sat in the stands.
cjslcfc Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 When my mum used to take me a few years back (only a young one so I had no choice on the matter) she would always leave a few minutes early. You all remember the game, Leicester vs Leeds in League One. Where was I when Howard leapt like a salmon and planted the ball in the top corner?!?! I was walking to the bloody car. Missed the goal and the utter madness of celebrations. Was absolutely livid I'd missed it. Never ever leave early now.
maxwelld_ Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 Well done to everyone who decides to stay and applaud our boys off the pitch tomorrow. Crap atmosphere: part of modern football. No balti pies: I can live with that too. Birch at half time: bearable. However the 5000 odd who sheepishly get out of your seats and head for the exit before the final whistle, hang your head in shame. It's like buying a lovely bit of sirloin steak ( yes we used to be donner meat) and leaving the best bit. Don't care what your reason: from broken leg; got to catch a flight to sh@g Beyonce; the wife wants you to pick her up from Asda. You know the real reasons: want to get home to watch a you've been framed repeat or you just want to beat that bit of traffic to get home 10 minutes early. The wife can wait our boys in blue are doing us proud. I leave early as I have my 5 year old son with me and don't want to get him crushed while ppl are rushing to leave. It's called being a responsible parent .
Vlad the Fox Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 I wonder who stays the latest. If there is a fan who literally waits until they are the last ones in there. I bet there is at least one who has to be the last out. I bet some superstitious ritual started years ago that he just can't break and he knows all about the stewards life's and families. He'll then head off to the pub to drink a flat pint of ale his mates have got in muttering on his breath just loud enough to be heard 'last one out again'. I leave early as I have my 5 year old son with me and don't want to get him crushed while ppl are rushing to leave. It's called being a responsible parent . I personally wait for the crush to pass when I have my kids.
svensson Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 I leave early as I have my 5 year old son with me and don't want to get him crushed while ppl are rushing to leave. It's called being a responsible parent . "Crushed" have a long hard think about that term.
lavrentis Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 Never understood why people leave 5 minutes early, just to try and beat the traffic. Need to chill the **** out.
Haydos Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 I do not understand the early leavers. Do you leave a film 10 or 5 mins before the end?? NO YOU DON'T So don't leave a city game early!! Oh, you live in London?? Wel MOVE TO LEICESTER!!!! Do you have a learning disability?
Haydos Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 Never understood why people leave 5 minutes early, just to try and beat the traffic. Need to chill the **** out. Because some people have a life outside lcfc and might have plans for the evening on a Saturday which require them to not wait around in traffic for half an hour? When I went down regularly it would take me an hour and a half to get back (village near Harborough) under normal circumstances. Do people really have the right to judge of people are leaving slightly early because they want to be able to have plans on a sat night?
Haydos Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 Your stupid if you leave before the final whistle. I have been to hundreds of football matches and never ever left before the final whistle and never will. Football is so unpredictable, what if Man City fans left 5 minutes early against QPR that season etc. I can't tell you how many goals or late drama I would have missed if I left early. If someone scores in the last minute then life will unsurprisingly go on. Learn how to spell 'you're' before you call someone stupid. Why does anyone give a shit? Our fans are the same as everyone else's, 90% will stay till the whistle, a few will leave early...
Haydos Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 If you have to leave early because of traffic especially if you live far then fair enough. But if you leave 5-10 minutes early for no reason what so ever then quite frankly your a twat. What pisses me off is some go to leave, but then decide to stand up against the railing bit & block myself and others view, if your going just fook off. Nobody does this though, everyone will have their reasons. It's just that morons on here think that what they do should apply to everyone. I genuinely think the people that feel weirdly passionate about this maybe don't have many friends and aren't used to having other commitments apart from the football. Why else get so worked up about it?
Dan Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 "Crushed" have a long hard think about that term. This. Just wow.
ramadaone Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 Do you have a learning disability? No but he does teach them so this made me laugh out loud
ozleicester Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 never done it, never will. But to each their own
AndWhat? Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 I leave early as I have my 5 year old son with me and don't want to get him crushed while ppl are rushing to leave. It's called being a responsible parent . You do realise it's 2014 and not 1928 yeah?
Illusion35 Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 Not really correct to say it doesn't affect others. At a recent home game I had to get up 10 minutes into the first half to let people along the row. Think they'd know the kick off time. They then looked at their phones for 10 minutes. Then got up 10 mins before half time to 'go for beer'. Come back 10 minutes after half time complaining 'it was busy!'. More faces in phones. Then left on 85 minutes again forcing everyone to get out of their way. Did this during an attack and were in front of me as players were on the edge of the penalty area. Saying 'sorry need to get to the pub before it gets busy'. I think this behaviour is rude and beyond annoying. Why not just spend the afternoon in the pub, as you're clearly not interested in the football! Ps have been taking my son since he was 5, utterly ridiculous to state you need to leave early with a child!!!
