ceredigion Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 I'm sure most football fans will agree that it's hard to beat the feeling of seeing your team get a vital last-gasp equalizer or winning goal. And there's no worse feeling than having one scored against you. Especially if it's an away match and you've got a long trip home to brood over it, We used to get more than our fair share of such goals and we've had a few this season too. It's always a sign of a side with a good team spirit and a never say die attitude. The goal which rescued a point against Yeovil last month is an point in case. A couple of examples which stand out for me are Richard Smith's last minute winner against Crystal Palace in 1992, ending a dreadful sequence of 3rd round exits in the FA Cup. A very late, re-taken free kick by Steve Thompson which won all 3 points against Derby at Filbert St in the same year. Steve Walsh's header against Arsenal in ridiculous 3-3 draw with Arsenal in 1997 where 4 goals were scored in injury time. Walsh's goal went in while all the Arsenal subs were bumming each other on the bench with joy at what they thought was their last minute winner by Bergkamp. Do any other Foxes have their own favourite injury-time goals?
Mark_w Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Gradel vs. MK Dons, Howard vs. Leeds & Knockaert vs. Forest.
LC/FC Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Emile William Ivanhoe Heskey. Coca Cola Cup Final equaliser to clinch a replay. The rest, as they say, is history.
VLC86 Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Surely not even an argument on the best one in recent history.... Knocky against Forest, I could watch the replay 100 times in a row and still get goose bumps every time. Best feeling ever leaving the ground!
Dan Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Knockaert at Forest and I'm convinced it won't be beaten.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Knockaert at forest. Anyone know how far into injury time we were? All I know was it seemed ages from the goal til the FT whistle
AndWhat? Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Knockheart at Forest Clemence at Forest Connolly at Forest I love last minute goals at Forest! Scrowcroft at Reading in the FA Cup Dublin at Charlton in the FA Cup De Vries against Spurs in the FA Cup I also love last minute goals in the cup! Knockaert at forest. Anyone know how far into injury time we were? All I know was it seemed ages from the goal til the FT whistle Wasn't it just as the board went up?
ScouseFox Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 King v Plymouth 09/10. Not sure why but always sticks out, we'd battered them in front of a full house for our 125 anniversary game and then up pops kingy in the 94th min. Think that was the game when people started to believe we might do something decent that season, too. Other than that ones that have been mentioned of course. it'll be gradel... right footed... ITS THERRREEEEEEEEEE
LanguedocFox Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Probably too many to count! Claridge against Palace, Heskey against Borough, Walshy against the Ar$e, Izzet then Parker penalty against Dutty Leeds in the 98-99 League Cup, Knocky against Florist, and three or four this season, including Hammond against Wigan last Tuesday. Love it. Mind you, I'd quite like us to be 6-0 up going into the last minute tonight.
Richard Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 I remember listening to that Knockaert goal and it taking me at least 10 seconds to work out from stringers commentary whether he'd actually scored or not...
Haydos Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Claridge v Palace is always going to be the last minute goal for me.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Knockaert at forest. Anyone know how far into injury time we were? All I know was it seemed ages from the goal til the FT whistle Went down as 90+2
StanSP Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Craig Hignett vs Arsenal to rescue a draw. Ashley Cole sent off in that match.
TrentFox Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 I remember listening to that Knockaert goal and it taking me at least 10 seconds to work out from stringers commentary whether he'd actually scored or not... One of his better radio commentaries, then?
