GeoLCFC Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I don't know if this has been posted before (sorry if it has) but in your opinion where can we finish realistically. For me I say 14-15th place, If Pearson buys the right players, which I am sure he will, we can be a good team in the Premier League, then push on for next season for possible top 10. EDIT: Also ,God forbid, if we are in the relegation places at Christmas would you sack Nigel, in my opinion no as look we stuck by him and look where we are, would be interesting to see others opinion
Renart Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 For the first season I will be happy if we stay up - anything else is a bonus. Top of the bottom half and being secure at this stage in the season would be great!
Sampson Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Let's not get too ahead of ourselves. I'd be over the moon with 17th first season, anything above that is a bonus.

Top of the bottom half and being secure at this stage in the season would be great! Yeah as long as we can survive I would be happy Let's not get too ahead of ourselves. I'd be over the moon with 17th first season, anything above that is a bonus. I agree survival comes first
lcfc1994 Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I'd be over the moon with 17th. Though I reckon about 14th.
Vlad the Fox Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I personally think we'll do better than a struggle for survival. Some of those teams down the bottom are dreadful it's fortunate for them that they can't all go down.
GeoLCFC Posted 6 April 2014 Author Posted 6 April 2014 Realistically we can finish anywhere. That is very true
Hack Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 11th. Yes I think this is realistic. Hull is the model of what to do in the 1st year up.
GeoLCFC Posted 6 April 2014 Author Posted 6 April 2014 I would love for us to do what Southampton have done just prove that you can do it with Young kids I mean only 5 or 6 Of the usual starting 11 are over 25 which is good
MPH Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 It's just way too early to tell. We don't know what players are staying, which ones we are signing. Only when we know for sure who is going to be here next season can we have a clue.
EnglishOxide Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 10th will be the target. Would be happy with 17th first season though. Of course Pearson shouldn't be sacked if we struggle. Wouldnt even sack him if we came straight back down as he would take us back up straight away. It will take next season for him and the players to assess what level they need to be at as its a new experience for everyone involved.
GeoLCFC Posted 7 April 2014 Author Posted 7 April 2014 9th If we finished 9th I would be over the moon
Anthrax Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Depends on who we bring in. A couple of good signings and I can't see why around 13th is unrealistic.
dorsetboy Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 i think you have to think who are we as good as in the prem based on the table at the minute if sunderland ,cardiff and fulham take the drop i would say we are equal to or better positioned than the following the 2 that come up with us and norwich, west brom, palace hull and stoke with maybe 3 quality signings then i would add swansea, villa and west ham to that mix so thats potentially ten teams we could be on a par with i would be happy with 17th but ecstatic if we could hit maybe 11th or 12th in our first season .. as most things this is something that can not be judged yet cur to money. How do we know vichai wont find another huge sponser that wants to come in with cash and say look nigel we want to more than just get 17th heres 150 million to spend this question would be better answered about a week before kick off
Leicester_Numan Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Realistically, anywhere in the bottom half. That's not to say we can't or won't finish in the top 10, we may be the surprise package of the season, who knows? Personally, I'll be happy with anywhere above 18th in the first season and be looking for us to build from there, slowly but surely.
MattGamble92 Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 I agree with not sacking Nigel even if we go straight back down. If we are thinking about it logically if we were to be relegated straight away we'd have a manager who has built a side that have walked the championship, something i doubt we'd have if we made any rash decisions.Having said that would the people giving advice to our owners advise a quick change in the hope of staying in the prem at all costs? This is Leicester.............
foxfanazer Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Let's just stay up first season and kick in from there. Need to make the KP the fortress it has been this season. 15th

I think we will struggle a bit - but Pearson has proved himself to be a fantastic manager, and that is not going to change, even if we are bottom at Christmas.

I think we will struggle a bit - but Pearson has proved himself to be a fantastic manager, and that is not going to change, even if we are bottom at Christmas.I hope all city fans and owners have the same sentiments .Bruce, lambert, and NP are young managers, who have some nous, but need tremendous backing, when their sides go through bad patches.I would expect however, in Hulls, and AV postion slight improvements for next season. Eg....AV should be looking for top 8-5. HULL comfortable top 14-12. City lets face it, we can only speculate, we all hope for a Hull type of season, or even accept a Crystal Palace run in. A stoke or southampton type of form, as they are now, would be exceptional. The future potential, I believe depends on potential realisation, of players like Vardy, Schlupp,Knocky, Mehraz, Moore, Drinkwater, James and King. 8 players we hope can find a level equal to the PL. Adding Morgan and Rdl to find consistency. Any new buys, we need them to find their team Rythm, within 1st 2-3 months.
