AlphaMaleFox Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 http://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/11127481.Albion_No__1_reveals_Premier_League_talks/ Albion No. 1 Tomasz Kuszczak has revealed his agent is in talks with several clubs about a return to the Premier League. The Polish and former Manchester United goalkeeper is one of 11 first team squad members out of contract at the end of the season. Kuszczak, quoted on the onet.sport website, said: "I know I can play in the league above. Some conversations have taken place. My agent is negotiating with several clubs, but for now I can not talk about specifics." "Przeglad sportowy' polish sports daily: Z naszych informacji wynika, że Kuszczakiem wstępne zainteresowanie wyraziły Sunderland, Fulham i Cardiff. Polak jest też na celowniku najlepszych klubów w Championship, które właściwie zapewniły już sobie awans, czyli Burnley i Leicester. No 2 goalkeeper? It must be Wasyl connection...
StanSP Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 I'd take him IF and only IF Kasper leaves. Kasper is better than him and I'd be more comfortable with Kasper in goal in the Premier League. However should Kasper leave, Kusczak isn't a bad replacement. Plus it's a free which would be a bonus.
Buzzell Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Would be a very good back up but doubt he will want to be bench warmer here. Kasper is better than him.

This, as much as Logan gets a lot of stick, it is good to have a player that will just play second fiddle to the number one and not cause any problems. If we are to keep Kasper, then the ideal back-up would be someone like Schwarzer, he was clearly content at this point in his career to be second choice at Chelsea, experieced GK who has been there and done it to support Kasper and provide more reliable cover than Logan, but is not going to be demanding first team football.

He might do at Leicester though. He knows full well he's back-up for someone like Chelsea.
BrummieFOX Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Exactly, if he goes to a bigger club he knows exactly where his place is. If he comes to Leicester he'll probably feel he can push into the first team. Kasper, whilst he's had a great season certainly isn't the finished article and without his faults. Kuszczack would be a good signing I think, very good if on a free.
Captain... Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 He might do at Leicester though. He knows full well he's back-up for someone like Chelsea. I'm not saying we should sign Schwarzer, but someone like that, who knows his playing days are coming to an end, but has a lot of prem experience, could perhaps come in to do coaching badges. A goalkeeping Kevin Phillips if you like. Someone like Friedel or Given would also do.

We need somebody who has the experience of playing in the PL but knows that there game time will be limited, depending on whether Kasper stays. Given, for me, fits the bill perfectly.
Bayfox Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 We need a back up. He's out of contract. Really think he would turn down another shot at the top flight?
FoxTrott Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 See him in the gym when I can be arsed to go. I'll ask him on Monday for you all...
Narborough_fox Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Would be decent as back-up. Good bit of competition for Schmeichel. Him and Wasyl looked very chummy last night.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Would be a good signing, give Kasper some real competition.

We haven't had an American in goal since... well, since forever. Jordan would also approve.
Xen Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Schwarzer has announced his retirement at the end of the season. Not an option. I may be wrong, but I think that's why he started his post with "I'm not saying we should sign Schwarzer"...

MC Prussian Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Since Keller. Not forever. I know, that's what I was alluding to.

But considering he's rejected £50K at Arsenal, I doubt he'll consider us now we've announced our wage cap.
