billyn88 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Not been much sk1 buzz about this game but I'll be there today so hopefully enough singers will have congregated to make a good atmosphere. Last Leicester game for a good 4 months at least for me, gutted.
Stadt Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Probably the best you've been since Charlton (Brighton doesn't count).
Soup Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Had a Spurs mate come with me today,he sat half way.He said I wish it was like that at White Hart Lane.Praise indeed
Lobsterboyuk Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Really enjoyed our first time in SK1, good mix of old school chants in there as well, Molly Malone, Wings of an Eagle and one or two at the end I don't know the words to. The WYS chants were some of the best efforts I've heard for a while. Glad we swapped out STs for Doncaster as well and will deffo move over permanently for next season.
billyn88 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Enjoyed today, pretty consistent singing from the area all the way through albeit a relatively small group, everything needs to start somewhere though. Even if it's only a small part of the ground, I enjoyed having somewhere I could stand and sing all game without annoying anyone.
purpleronnie Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Sounded silent on the TV even the commentators mentioned how quiet it was, sound mustn't travel well....shame.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Credit to both SK1 and L1 as they both kept going at times today. SK1 were non stop albeit in a fairly flat atmosphere generally
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 I had a cracking time up there again today!
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 By the way did anyone catch the words to that song the lad at the front was signing on his own to the tune of Don't Look Back in Anger?!
Langley Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 By the way did anyone catch the words to that song the lad at the front was signing on his own to the tune of Don't Look Back in Anger?! "So Harry can wait, he knows it's too late as we walk on by..." I had a cracking time over in SK1 today. I will be defo getting a season ticket there next season.
NewburyFox Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 From J3 it looked like it encouraged and spurred on the Kop today. Good work!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 I was in them JTT areas today (I think C1?) and it sounded as though SK1 were trying to get the kop going all game (worked better second half as first half was a bit flat) Back in SK1 for Donny game
steveherbe Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 I was in sk1 today, and had a personal nightmare. Just wasnt at the races today, apologies all round. Should have been subbed at half time.....

Voll Blau Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 The Palace ripoffs need binning off, but apart from that thought it was very decent again. Love seeing the kiddies a few rows in front clapping along. The club need to realise that children like singing and clapping, and when the times are tough on the pitch it's a great atmosphere that will keep them interested.
anotherharboroughfox Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 Had a great time yesterday to be fair! First time in the section since Union FS has been about.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 That was certainly the best day in SK1 since the Charlton game. A good effort throughout from all involved and it was great fun to be a part of. Imagine if we could get something like an extra 100 people in the area and singing along throughout. It'd be fantastic! There is potential here, we just need the people who enjoy being in SK1 for the games to commit to it for next season, whether they're a STH or not.
billyn88 Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 I'll definitely be back in that area when I come back for games next season tickets permitting. One of the few great things about our stadium is that the higher you are generally the better the view. I do fear it will be a matter of take what you can get in the league next season as a non season ticket holder.

I think SK1, especially where 'our' section is, will still be quite empty next season, you pay the same price as being in the middle behind the goal and you're over to the side which means it isn't the most popular part of the ground. Put yourself on the Union FS members list so you can buy tickets in the reserved section!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 The trick is for anyone wondering how to made decent confetti, (And so it does not smack the person in the back of the head infront of you) Is to cut it into a rectangular shape, It spins as it falls and takes longer to drop Guess who's been on wedding websites this morning looking for confetti haha Best measurements is 2x5" Great effort buddyI'm in Sk1 for the Donny game I can only get to between 5 and 10 home games a season due to work etc but I defo intend to get ticket in SK1 whenever possible
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 I tried to get in SK1 for the Doncaster game, but I left it too late, so I'll be watching from G2. Try and get the people singing so far that it reaches me.

Seemed to work at QPR and Reading, balloons did all right as well, I saw one made its way to the front of K by half time!
