Union FS - The SK1 Thread

Recommended Posts

I'm sure Union FS will update everyone on here when they've emailed the club.

Yes mate we will, but I think it's only fair to give our response to the club 1st.I don't know which way we will go with this,i've given my view but cannot speak for everyone.

I dont understand, Who is it you are hiding info from.... The CLUB sent you the email, they pretty much know whats in it.

geebus, why the secrecy?

Edit: Is the club threatening. have they demanded not to release this information.. OMG!!!   :frantics:

But if the club have contacted you. They know what they have written.

Your response is not what I'm asking for.

it was stated this was not some exclusive club and you where going out your way to not be the next fosse boys.

I'm afraid you may find yourself isolated from the people you need to help be a success at this rate.

If it is such a private issue. Why bring it into this domain?

I guess it's the only way some of us can communicate at the minute. As soon as we're all set up and know each other I'll be off this site in a shot.Sometimes I think it's more embarrassing that looking at porn.lol

I really don't think a few people holding back information for a few hours should put anyone off wanting to join us.If we piss a few people off that were never going to come over to us, then i've no problem with that.

We are discussing the email that was to sent us from the organisers of Union FS. I don't see any harm in that.

I am 100% sure they will update everyone on here once the members of Union FS have responded to that email.

It's pretty obvious that the guys who have actually joined up should get info first before making it public on a forum?

If you want to have your say on how they are run, join them and tell them!

I think it is fair that those that have shown an interest in the group are able to review what has been proposed first given that, you know, they will be the ones primarily affected by what the Club has had to say.

Union FS, I'm sure, will post as and when they feel comfortable in doing so.

Whilst I want anything positive that improves the atmosphere at the kp to happen.

I have no interest in having a say how a group conducts it's self.

Infact part of me is gutted it takes having to have some organised group. Especially one that need members to sign up. When it was originally stated it was not meant to be exclusive.

Once upon a time at filbo all I needed was my sk1 season ticket and that was enough.

I'm attending the game with 2 people who came and used the section for the 1st game hopefully they will be a little more open in person.

We feel that all the conjecture above is doing neither the group, nor the Club, any good. We have given our members an opportunity to respond first, as would be the right of any shareholder in any business or any member of any Football Club. However, in the interest of non-exclusivity...

A few weeks ago, following a meeting with several people at the Club, we proposed a partnership agreement that would see both us and the Club commit to various things in order to benefit the area that is growing in SK1. The Club have responded with amendments, most of which are agreeable to us. However, there are a few statements that we want to seek further clarification from the Club on. As mentioned above, we do not want to give the impression that the Club are doing anything drastically wrong here and as such, these are the issues that we have most concern about:

1) Union FS will "Organise members to become 'Union FS Marshals' wearing distinctive attire provided by the Club."

2) "Union FS accept the Ground Regulations do not permit persistent standing at the King Power Stadium and the group will strive to adhere to this directive. To achieve this aim, a short pause will be included in singing programme which will provide an opportunity for the group to remain seated for short periods during the match."

3) "XXXX will confirm to Union FS that these supporters are OK to proceed and will ask Union FS to contact the supporters to inform them that they are OK to proceed with purchase"

We hope that we will come to an agreement with the Club shortly. In the interest of fairness to those we are dealing with at the Club, no further comment will be made by Union FS until we have replied to them.

Number 1 is outrageous. The club ought to be ashamed and embarrassed with that suggestion.

The CCTV at the ground is good enough to identify any individual, they're just wanting to be able to link people with the group as an excuse to clamp down.

If the plans for Union FS to join the FCC don't come to fruition, I'm more than happy to raise concerns there on your behalf.

Thank you for a more informative reply.

You did offer self policing so that seems fair.

Although for all sk1/2 existing season ticket holders entertainment I hope it is a lcfc gimpsuit or onesie.

As for the sitting part. What an odd request. Are they going to look to enforce this in l1.

Our group to the left of you have stood with no intervention from stewards for about 6 seasons now.

Is this going to be a new club policy? I sit at half time. Does that count lol

So they want you to dress as stewards? lol Go home Leicester...You're drunk.

Sit down during games? That just misses the point of this whole initiative.

And let you give permission as to who can purchase a ticket in SK1? Seems a bit drastic.

Am I reading it right? lol

Only 80?? lol

Green Brigade at Celtic have been going for about 8 years and have 300 members.

HF at palace have been going for 9 years and have about 150 members.

Only 80?? 80 is unreal considering the time scale. Anyone who has been put off by that needs their head checking!

THIS.

I don't think disclosing there's only 80 members is going to help generate interest I've had a few say they will look to tag on to L1 now instead

80 in 5 months is fantastic, especially asd with liaising with the club took longer than expected, I'd say the idea has only really been set in stone and advertised sing mid february prior the charlton game

You have to start somewhere, and that's 80 not including people's mates. If you presume that people come with at least one other you have a group of 160+.

Besides, I think having more than 80 committed in less than half a year isn't a bad effort considering groups like this is a bit of a culture change more than anything else!

As we know, 80 COMMITTED and DEDICATED fans, are louder and more effective than 500 half arsed fans. Celtic have around 300 members of the Green brigade, and they have the best fans in european football.

Whilst I want anything positive that improves the atmosphere at the kp to happen.

Unfortunately it does not work like that anymore.

With L/K it kind of works as its known as the "Singing section" you know if you get a ticket there you will be in the atmosphere, HOWEVER. the area has reached its capacity due to pricing and section of ground.

Therefore the only option is to ORGANISE, a new section. And unfortunately, these things cannot just be a case of "All turn up at sk1 and sing"

Because clubs are duty bound to be seen to be controlling fans, from standing etc for health and safety, Therefore we need to liaise with the club to build and go forward, Or the club would simply squash the idea by sending more stewards up there to stop everyone.

So it HAS to be an ORGANISED GROUP to succeed.

No, No threats, Just a few simple requests for the group, which most would find a bit petty, Which the group will dispute. Apart from the requests the club have shown absolute support for the group and what we are trying to achieve.

No the last point is that the club will give Union FS the go ahead to accept a new member. Asif they are going to do a background check on them first. Which is ****ing ridiculous.

There is no way anyone at Union FS can and will agree to any of them.

A pause in the singing programme?? what an absolutely pathetic and ridiculous thing to propose.

Should just incorporate sitting into a song, sing it once every 15 mins or so and then can't say anything about persistent standing.

''Sit for a minute, we're gonna sit for a minute'

They said we have to stop singing!!!

I'd propose that too... or 'sit down, if you love Leicester'.

Would be interested to see the Club's take on that.

One chorus of sit down if you love Leicester should do it :)

"We're sitting down, we're standing up" Just chant that once a half and that is that one ticked off.

As to the uniform wow, I would like to see who came up with that idea and whether or not they are just trying to get a reaction.
