Kinowe Soorie Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 When I was a kid... Gary McAllister. Now I'm a big kid... Matty James! And Muzzy inbetween!
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 Who is this Tommy Wright? Never heard of him.
Agent Fox Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 Speedie - My dad told me he was a professional and I thought that was a special thing... I used to play naughts and crosses on beermats with him at The Dominion pub.
The Doctor Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 Easy question for me. David Buchanan. He made his City debut at the tender age of 16 (he might still be our youngest ever debutant) on New Year's Day 1979 against Oldham in the 2nd Division. He scored on his debut in a 2-0 win along with another City player, the late Bobby Smith, who also scored. Jock Wallace was throwing youth into the fray in that game and a third player also made his City debut. A certain Gary Lineker if I recall, but he was completely upstaged that day. Obviously we all remember Dave Buchanan, but that Lineker fellow, now what became of him I wonder? League yes, but youngest ever debutant is Ashley chambers at 15 in a league cup match vs blackpool
Istilllovefilbert Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 Jim Melrose /Alan Young/ Stevie Lynex / Gary LinekerThisAnd throw in Larry May of course
Thracian Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 Davie Gibson! As a kid I craved the same shirt number, trained in the same gym, walked like him, ran like him, practiced the same tricks - but still wasn't worthy of even cleaning his boots!
Oxfordfox83 Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 Thommo, particularly after the PlayOff goal at Swindon. Then, and forever after, Muzzy, and I still wear 6 at every opportunity, even though I'm a big lump of a CB...
Jakemoore Posted 17 April 2014 Posted 17 April 2014 Muzzy izzet! Although I was fairly young when he retired I'll never forget that goal against Grimsby!
