Referee today.

We've had worse, I'd rather see someone like him over a ref who dishes out some silly early yellows, then has to show reds for big tackles later on,

Card happy refs kill games, he was a crap ref though.

QPR were dirty, I'd put that down to frustration.

Well QPR came to scythe us down at every opportunity and he was just happy for them to do it. They're a dirty team and the referee should be stopping them from being like that.

He was so reluctant to punish them for anything.

For anyone watching on the TV, was the Nugent offside in the 2nd half actually offside? Everyone seemed adamant that the lino had got it wrong, and it did look that way from where I was sat. Just seemed like one of those shocking "if I can see that, how can you not?" kind of decisions.

Just watched it back, definitely offside

Fair enough then. I didn't have a good angle of it myself, but it seemed as though he'd got it dead wrong. Apparently not!

That one was actually offside but there were one or two in the first half when Nuge was incorrectly called offside.

The penalty claim at the end was unbelieveable.

You could see O'Neil tearing across straight the way.

In the first half he allow Karl Henry to go completely through the back of a player with a sliding challenge. He won the ball but it was very dangerous. Then followed it up with ignoring the clusmy challenge on De Laet.

To top it off at one point, we stood over a QPR free kick. He stopped them taking it quickly at the advantage of us as the defending team.

He was rather poor.

Was very lenient and let a lot go to the point where he avoided giving a couple of cards that should have been given, in particular the Krancjar one. Thought some of the other decisions he got right though including the Assou-Ekotto cards and the penalty appeal at the end.

Agree that the Schmeichel decision was bizzare however. Firstly, their player collides into Schmeichel who is pulling out of the challenge and secondly he calls play back from an advantage when their player had got his shot away at goal, if that's not an advantage I don't know what is!

The main thing that annoyed me was why he had to run 60 yards to check if Schlupp needed the physio despite the fact he'd been on the floor holding his knee for a minute or so. The same thing happened at Blackburn when Mahrez was down (the ref had even played advantage for the foul on him) and the ref had to run about 70 yards that time to check that he definitely wasn't faking injury. One day there will be a player down with a broken leg and in agony whilst play continues only for the ref to have to run the length of the pitch to the player to get there and think "oh yeah, your leg's bent in an L shape... better wave the physio on". Use some common sense and get the physio as soon as play stops!

Watch it again if you can. Their player gets there first, Kasper misses the ball and boots him. Anywhere on the pitch it's a yellow. He got a touch off but he was impeded by Kasper's foul. This was one of his better decisions of the day.

It was a free kick, nothing more, and certainly not a yellow card. Ridiculous decision from a typically poor Championship ref.

I've seen the replay and despite their player getting their first, he also clearly instigates the contact, not Kasper, who was pulling out of the tackle. It was the QPR player who left his leg out in an attempt to make contact with Kasper, presumably to win a penalty. In doing so he actually trips Kasper, not the other way around.

Just because the QPR man gets there first it doesn't automatically mean Kasper is the one who's committed the foul.

Just watched the game again. Thought he got most of the big calls right, Kranjcar should have been sent off for a second yellow and Mahrez should have been booked for diving at the end, but otherwise I thought he was spot on.

Dont know how he let play go on when De Laet was in a heap yet when their player went down for something that wasn't even a head injury he stopped play.
