DangerFox Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 I'm not one for causing fights or arguments etc. But where are the forest fans or Cov fans trying to cause trouble? I will say I hope Derby doesn't go up. I want to be selfish and be the best team in the East Mids. (Although we already are!)
Mark_w Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 They genuinely don't care about us. And they've got nothing to taunt us with.
Weller in Tights Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Let's forget about them (small time Forest, Derby and Cov) Next season we face some of our proper rivals from days of old. Chelsea and Villa.
Guest bss9401 Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Yes the smug assholes are aplenty when we are not doing well so we should savour every minute. I definitely do not want the lesser east mids teams promoted. I want to be condescending from afar while they toil in their lesser leagues.
DangerFox Posted 21 April 2014 Author Posted 21 April 2014 Sounds good to me. Nice to be top of the pile!
ceredigion Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Derby or Forest could yet go up and Derby are guaranteed for the play-offs. As for Cov, it will be years, if ever, before we see them back in the big time. But surely some people will miss the big local derbies. And I seem to recall the last time LCFC, Forest, Derby and Coventry were all in the same division we had some excellent results against the others.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 I want derby to go up for the 6 easy points they'll give us next season

I see your point but I will happily trade east mids derbies for games against Arsenal, Liverpool, Man C etc for a while. They can rot for all I care.

stevelcfc Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Personally would like to see Derby come up, there's an easy 6 points there!
Leeds_Fox95 Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 I think you need to add Birmingham to this, I know a few blue noses and they really don't like us (for whatever reason that may be). But to be perfectly honest I fxcking hate them as well so fair is fair. Derby certainly don't wind me up as much as Forest, everything about Nottingham Forest annoys me, but like somebody has already said, they don't care about us in the slightest. Villa next year will be a tasty atmosphere, as will Chelsea, we don't need to be worrying about rivals next year we just need to enjoy the season and hope for survival!
Dan Posted 22 April 2014 Posted 22 April 2014 Would any of you go and wind Forest fans up if they'd just won the league?

Fox Ulike Posted 22 April 2014 Posted 22 April 2014 We don't really have any rivals. Forest are just geographically close to us. That isn't enough to create a rivallry. Ditto Coventry. Derby is on a par with Peterborough for me. We're all on our own. We should be proud of our aloofness. No one hates us, we don't care.
Bayfox Posted 22 April 2014 Posted 22 April 2014 There's always the Cup Yeah but we're not allowed to enter the cloughie cup

I think we are disliked but not hated as an arch rival. I think there is some mini local hatred such as in Hinckley with Cov fans. I actually think it's a shame to not have an arch rival. I personally look out for Cov, Forest and Derby results because I have family and friends who support them.

Let's get something straight here, we've not 'created' anything, Leicester & Nottingham were always the rival cities in the East Midlands and Leicester-Forest was THE East Midlands derby before Clough. Derby were such a nothing club (and still are at heart). I don't really give a shit what Nottingham ****** think of us, but it does annoy me when people try to suggest we're somewhat falling over ourselves to have a rivalry with Forest that wasn't there before - that's more true for Derby than it is for us. More importantly, this was supposed to be a gloating thread not a discussion on who hates us and who doesn't.

Yeah and Leicester Fosse v Loughborough Dynamo was probably the rivallry before that in the 1890s. Bit things change. It's time to move on Grandad. Nothing has happened in the last 40 years to make Forest v Leicester a serious rivalry. Forest have got Derby now, and the two of them seem happy to have a fairly lame rivalry together. Leave them to it I say. You make us sound desperate to keep harping on about a Forest rivalry. I actually quite like Forest. I'd prefer them to go up than QPR, AT LEAST WE'd get a good local Derby against them.
Voll Blau Posted 22 April 2014 Posted 22 April 2014 Forest and Derby won't be too bothered. After all, they'll get to play each other for the biggest prize in football again next year if they both stay down. Still chuckle every time I realise they compete for an actual physical trophy. Fvck 'em. As much as I enjoy the rivalries I'm much happier being in a higher division than them. We've been the East Midlands' number one for the vast majority of my lifetime and I hope it stays that way.

Agreed, I can cope without Derby's crap away support and Forest's continual boreathon about not caring about us. They can have each other in the Championship, we can have the big games against today's big, well-supported clubs.
Finnegan Posted 22 April 2014 Posted 22 April 2014 I really hate the "are you watching Nottingham?" shit. **** sakes, biggest time for us in ten years and we're being needy. Much, much prefer "we're all on our own." Turn it back on them and have a bit of a giggle.
ithuriel Posted 22 April 2014 Posted 22 April 2014 They are no longer rivals, underlings is a more fitting term.
