DANGEROUS TIGER

THE KP STADIUM.

In all our euphoria, let's remind ourselves, that ten years ago, the Walkers Stadium was built with a view to accommodating Premiership football, only to find ourselves relegated.

Now, after ten long years, our stadium will be baptised for the purpose for which it was built, it's first full season, and I hope that it will be blessed with great moments, great players, and great supporters, and will become as legendary as our beloved Filbert Street was.

So here's to the start of a new and exciting era, at the King Power Stadium.

Well it currently looks like a ShitHole. Needs more blue, needs repainting and needs more decoration. It's such a shame that the Ricoh looks better than our ground and it's sat doing **** all. Absolute travesty that we had to build a new stadium out of an Ikea flat pack due to finances.

19 times, surely? :D

Ahh, yeah!

How many times did we win? Blackburn, Portsmouth, Leeds?

I recall us drawing a lot. Everton, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Bolton...

They are sadly the only three wins I can think of!

I'm sure there is 4 (maybe 5) but I can only think of those three off the top of my head.

I hope that we work on the stadium.

It's a damn sight better than a lot in that league, but it's still not right.

People complaining about the state of our current playing arena haven't been to Burnley then......Fans of the established Premier League sides will not even notice a few shoddy bits of paintwork after going to Turf Moor!

Some people on here do make me wonder.

It's as if nalis never scored. Sir les was never here lol

De Vries vs Spurs (granted it was the Cup), but still a memorable goal!

lol

Away from the fact we've clearly played in the Premiership at our new ground before....

It will never be 'legendary' in it's current guise. It is not unique enough, and not only that, it's just not very good. There's nothing interesting or attractive about it at all, I'm sorry to say. I'd like to draw as little attention to it as possible.

They'll probably notice that it is Burnley's ground though. The only thing they'll notice about ours is that it looks like a cross between Southampton and Cardiff's ground.

The stadium bankrupted us, led to ten years of under-achievement, including the loss of our great record of never playing outside the top 2 divisions.

Give me Filbert Street any day.

I'm sure the owners will provide some cash to touch up places here and there outside the stadium. Getting promoted is a special occasion and one of the ways they'll mark a return to the premiership is giving the ground a bit of a make over. Personally I'd like to see a statue of a club legend put up outside. Something that was suggested in FT previously in the Gordon Banks statue thread.

This! That place is horrific, that said, it matches the town well, but makes for an awesome away day.

Statue as been talked about for sometime, one idea I liked was turning the old Filbert Street land into some sort memorial garden or a park something with a couple of statue's on it. Like Keith Weller or as you say Gordon Banks, but of course I believe that land is going to be housing.

However they get easily have a statue outside every stand, Gordon Banks outside the family stand, The Birch outside the main stand, Gary Lineker the kop & Keith Weller the east stand.

We could do with a big screen outside!

Yeah so all of the plastic bastards could watch the game for free outside while all is proper fans watch from inside while chomping on a pie

Been to Loftus Road recently? The stench of piss has been ever present since my first visit around 30 years ago. When they leave they will soon be recalling the good times there. I loved Filbert Street but it had to go since we couldn't expand it.

No it wouldn't show the match live they wouldn't be allowed. Most clubs who have big screens outside the ground show interviews and highlights of recent performances.
