MooseBreath Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 You've got Nugent as a CM? Yes as a CM set to attack. Couldn't find a place for him and he was throwing his toys out of the pram about not playing, so I gave him a shot in midfield when we had lots of injuries and he got so many assists and goals he was just undroppable. He has an average rating of about 7.4, which is the highest in the squad. Tom Lawrence is also fairly handy at CM despite having a poor positional rating.
Finnegan Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 Don't be fooled, they're still both dreadful central midfielders. The good news is that you've likely set your tactics up in a manner that is nicely complimentary to that position. If you were to stick a decent midfielder in there you'd get even better performance, so don't "settle" for Nugent long term because of perceived good form now. I've had this discussion before with people on here trying to claim Schlupp or other such shit players are effective. They really aren't per se, it's often just your tactics.
Stadt Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 Yeah if you've got a shit player with enough support and space they'll probably play alright
MooseBreath Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 Fair points, I've got nuge training CM as a new position as well but at 30 he's not the long term solution, need to make some more investment in midfield as I don't think the likes of King or James are good enough for a top-6 push. Such a shame that the fm team didn't buy that £180m Srivaddhanaphraba pledge and have given Leicester such pitiful transfer budgets.
Finnegan Posted 15 May 2015 Posted 15 May 2015 Lucas Romero / Youri Tielemans, go go. Matthias Kranevitter / Gaston Gil Romero if you're skint. I love the central midfielders in this game.
RoboFox Posted 15 May 2015 Posted 15 May 2015 Ok, so I finally caved in and got this game after a boring evening at home. I've done well considering I said I'd never buy another after '13 (I've owned every one since CM2) due to spending FAR too many hours playing it over the years and deciding I'd be better off putting my spare time into something more constructive. ...But what's more constructive than attempting to take a relatively young RB Leipzig team to Bundesliga glory? If anyone wants me I'll be sitting on my sofa wearing p*ss-stained pyjama bottoms, and covered in biscuit crumbs.
Stadt Posted 15 May 2015 Posted 15 May 2015 I find the selection of midfielders that can finish disappointing
Ross-Kemp Posted 15 May 2015 Posted 15 May 2015 Lucas Romero / Youri Tielemans, go go. Matthias Kranevitter / Gaston Gil Romero if you're skint. I love the central midfielders in this game. These are the ones.
BigLeicesterFan Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 7 games remaining in my first season with Northampton. Predicted to come 16th, and we are 1st, 5 points above the team that is 2nd
Stadt Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 im in 2018, just typed in tielemans fully expecting him to be at top, top, massive club but he's at Mainz Declare interest > For transfer
MooseBreath Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 Jhon Arango is my midfield man. £700k in early 2016.
Dan Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 My tactic seems to produce magic form from my right winger. I've got Keko on loan from Celta Vigo as back-up, he's come in for someone who's injured and he's averaging about 8.00 he's literally Championship standard too. I only signed him as I had about £50k.
Stadt Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 I got Lucas piazon on a free (tweeted about it and some fan girl retweeted it, bizarrely) and I've been playing him as a raumdeuter and he's got 20 goals and I'm only in March
FoxLAD Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 I'm coming home next week and going start a new save with Leicester, What are they like with the new update? Witch signings of players and staff would you recommend?
Dan Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Raumdeuter? Nah, winger on attack. I play a 3-1-4-2. I concede a lot but we score loads. Regularly outscore Atletico. Did like the Raumdeuter though. Had Riviere playing there on loan in my first year up and he bagged about 12 which I thought was a pretty strong return for the level we were playing at. I'm not half bored of missing out on third meaning we keep losing our best players to poorer sides who happened to have one good year. Building up Las Palmas into a top four standard team only to see our players request to join shit like Torino & Olympiakos was not something I'll be partying about.
Dan Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 I find the selection of midfielders that can finish disappointing Was all about Abeid on FM13. He used to bag me 20 a season from midfield. Finnegan then probably informed me of his fraudulence and I replaced him with a proper player.
Richard Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Choudhury's rated by my assistants/coaches as a decent premier league midfielder at 18 - 3.5*, 4.5* potential... Getting cambiasso then james to tutor him did wonders
Finnegan Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Bored. Downloaded a database with an Americas league system. Four tiers of 16 and then North/South conferences. Couple of MLS teams but big bias towards Latin America. Had to rejig the positions of some teams, he had Boca and Corinthians in the second tier and Flamengo in the third which is stupid even if you're trying to balance out by country. I fobbed off some of the Costa Rican and Honduran teams to balance it out. Simulated a year on holiday to see how it went before I wasted my time on a broken database and it seems okay. Boca bought Mauro Icardi and one of the others got Iturbe back so I quite like that it should be a strong league system. It's on steam called continental 1 of 5 or something. Rest of the world is normal.
Stadt Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 won the league with nantes in 2018 in only my second full season in charge, I saved them from relegation in the first whilst winning the league cup. I'm so proud of myself. However Piazon wants to leave for Everton just 3 days after winning the league, 3 days ffs.
maynefox Posted 21 May 2015 Posted 21 May 2015 Took over FC United when they were in the conference in 2020:First season = won the conferenceSecond season = 3rd League 2Third season = 7th League 1Fourth (current) season = top of League 1 in March. I'm really enjoying this challenge after a short but turmoil spell at Bordeaux! I've got a cheap backroom staff who are very very good for the lower divisions. I brought a striker for a record £450k, 22yrs, Irish international and scored 23 goals in his first season in League 1 and currently has 27th . I have a good feeling about this save and I think I will go to the top with FC United. However, it's frustrating that the club doesn't have any money. My ground is 5000 capacity (not bothered about that at the moment. But more worryingly, the training facilities are 1-star and Youth Level is shocking. Keep asking the board to upgrade, but they say they have no money. Anybody else done a save with FC United?
GLC Posted 21 May 2015 Posted 21 May 2015 just found this on FM-Base http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/football-manager-2015-discussion/190812-future-game-saves.html I downloaded the 2030/2031 save! should be a bit of a laugh
