Donut Posted 10 April 2015 Posted 10 April 2015 Parma. Who is up for the mission impossible? EDIT: Are you even allowed to sign anyone?
Donut Posted 10 April 2015 Posted 10 April 2015 Im a bit skeptical about the administration issue. If you cant sign anyone, and the administrator is accepting bids for your players on your behalf, then not being able to change your squad is taking away one of the big interesting elements of the game. I like the fact its a backs to the wall game though.
Dan Posted 10 April 2015 Posted 10 April 2015 If you wanted backs to the wall without all that bollocks I'd consider Cordoba or Eibar although I'm not quite sure I can be arsed pretty much doing exactly what I've just done at Las Palmas.
Donut Posted 10 April 2015 Posted 10 April 2015 My idea wasnt really a backs to the wall hopeless scenario to make the best of, it was more about who could take a team, with perhaps a little bit of scope for improvement but also some clever management needing to be done, and see how peoples ideas for improvement differed, or what they did to try and get the best out of the club. How we intepreted a tactical approach, who we went after in the transfer market etc, and ultimately, how successful we were for the season we managed them. The Parma scenario puts me off a bit because clearly, thats a club that needs to be rebuilt over a looooooooong time. Or cross your fingers and hope someone buys you fast. But maybe a club like say, Ipswich Town, one thats been in the championship for a long time, and had little to no success in it in that time, how would we go about changing their fortunes. What would we do? who would we bring in? How would we set them up to go away to Middlesbrough and get something? That kind of thing.
Dan Posted 10 April 2015 Posted 10 April 2015 Yeah, that's a pretty fair shout actually. Can see what you're getting at. A bit of a nothing side if you like? I always find my best games start in either the second or third tier as well.
Ross-Kemp Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 Ipswich / Leeds / Sheff We'd are all good shouts. I loaded a game up with Parma last night to view the squad, no thanks.
Finnegan Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 Got to be honest, high chance I won't have time for this anyway so take my opinion with a pinch of salt but we've all done championship a million times. You're in auto pilot when you start, sign the same players, same coaches, set the same formations, know the league backwards, etc. Why not think outside the box? Liga MX, Brazil, Argentina, South Korea, Australia, USA? Plenty of financially stable teams that can compete at the given level without backs to the wall but aren't one step away from a 4.5* reputation league. Why not try and win the Sudamerica / Libertadores with a Botafogo, Arsenal di Serandi, Jaguares or something?

I just used a championship example as its something we are familiar with, easy to compare how we were doing. Id do something in south or central america, that would be fun, despite me having a pretty minimal knowledge of some of the squads down there. Not too sure about Australia, South Korea would be a bit of a disaster IMO, just too far removed from anything we even vaguely know. MLS could be potentially OK, not done it before, but then again Dan said he didnt rate it so perhaps leave that one alone. Maybe we could do someone like Independiente? I have no idea whats going on down in their league at the moment, so these names are just names im putting out.
casablancas Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 The Swiss league? Basel aside a pretty open league and I've a soft spot for Swiss football. I don't actually play as I've not got 15 put I do follow this thread.
Stadt Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 I can't do a league where player names are similar, ****s me over. Aberdeen?

LAprice_ Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 My Leicester loanee Hamza Choudhury has so far picked up 15 yellow cards in 30 games whilst playing for my league 1 Shrewsbury team (2016/17 season)!

He keeps falling out with Cambiasso on my save. I reckon it is all his fault as Esteban doesn't seem the type...
stripeyfox Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 They've released Football Manager Handheld every year but I only played one version and it was too basic for me, so I never bothered. I think I will wait to see the reviews on this because if the iPad needs to be plugged in to properly play, or risk the battery dying very quickly, it just won't be worth it Well it is definitely a step up from FM Handheld. It appears to be more or less the PC "Classic" version. Runs really well on my Lenovo tablet and doesn't seem to hammer the battery any harder than anything else. The touch screen occasionally infuriates but overall a good experience so far. Just finished my first season with City and managed to finish 8th. Having Huth and Karamaric on the updated database helped - Kramaric finished top scorer in the Prem with 24.

Can you give some examples? There are issues we are aware of, but all feedback is welcome and that's my area.

There are issues we are aware of, but all feedback is welcome and that's my area.I don't seem to be able to use the quick sub option in a match. Sometimes sorting lists is a bit sluggish but it could just be my sausage fingers. But overall, the game is a triumph. I've been playing various football manager games since the 80's (can anyone remember "Soccer Supremo" which came on a cassette and bucked the trend by not having numbered values for players, but a separate booklet with written descriptions in). I've played some very very bad ones, and some which were good at the time but wouldn't stand up now, and some which I sunk hours and hours in to. To have an almost fully fledged Football Manager game of this quality in the palm of your hand is nothing short of astonishing.
MooseBreath Posted 17 April 2015 Posted 17 April 2015 Laptop died so I've lost a four year fm2011 save in which I had just started my 50th season. Time to get on this fm2015 ting.
casablancas Posted 20 April 2015 Posted 20 April 2015 Two games in a row I've had two sendings off. Both my back to centre halts. Instructions are to stay on feet but God knows why I'm getting red cards all over the place. Anyone had this problem?

Won the last 4 games, absolutely dominated 3 of them (like 65+% possession) but picked up 13 yellows and 1 red. And all season my players have had poor discipline for whatever reason.
