RonnieTodger Posted 2 April 2015 Posted 2 April 2015 Biggest score you lot have seen on this version? Real Madrid stuck 9 past Levante on mine last night. Chelsea beat Halifax 11-0 in the cup on one of my saves
Donut Posted 2 April 2015 Posted 2 April 2015 Biggest score you lot have seen on this version? Real Madrid stuck 9 past Levante on mine last night. 14-0, my Bayern Munich team vs Saar 05, before i deleted my Bayern Munich game. I put the picture up a few pages ago. But it was a huge mismatch, i used it as a preseason game to get the fitness of my first teamers up, Saar 05 were from either the 3rd division, or German non league.
Stadt Posted 2 April 2015 Posted 2 April 2015 Friendlies don't count, everybody has stuck 10+ Past a lower league team
Donut Posted 2 April 2015 Posted 2 April 2015 Friendlies don't count, everybody has stuck 10+ Past a lower league team It was in the German Cup I meant that because it was giant v minnow, i was treating it like a friendly. I used it as part of the friendlies schedule and cancelled a couple of actual friendlies.

Dan Posted 3 April 2015 Posted 3 April 2015 Set myself up there didn't I? Despite winning my opening six I've gone and lost 8-0 at Barcelona. ****ing typical.
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 3 April 2015 Posted 3 April 2015 Just beat Man City 4-2 in the cup with a 2nd string team after a run of 5 games without a win in the league
Grantham Fox Posted 4 April 2015 Posted 4 April 2015 Anyone have any good recommendations for signings, for a non league team, with like no budget as expected? Cheers.
Narborough_fox Posted 4 April 2015 Posted 4 April 2015 Just got into January in the 2nd season with Palermo and I'm somehow to of the league having only lost to Juventus all season. Balanta and Munoz have been class at the back but Ginter is available for around £9million. Was wondering if anyone had played with him and if so, how good is he? Never mind, he's gone to Barcelona...
GLC Posted 4 April 2015 Posted 4 April 2015 I was just looking around the leagues to see how other teams are getting on..... AC Milan in Serie B!
Donut Posted 4 April 2015 Posted 4 April 2015 Anyone have any good recommendations for signings, for a non league team, with like no budget as expected? Cheers. David Moyo will bag you a lot of goals.
Grantham Fox Posted 4 April 2015 Posted 4 April 2015 David Moyo will bag you a lot of goals. He's only just joined Brackley on non contract terms. I'm St.Albans... No pace or quality. Struggling to find any tactic that seems to work consistently. And I'm new to this haha.
Donut Posted 4 April 2015 Posted 4 April 2015 He's only just joined Brackley on non contract terms. I'm St.Albans... No pace or quality. Struggling to find any tactic that seems to work consistently. And I'm new to this haha. Im absolutely no authority on this, but i have managed at the top level and at the bottom level. Ive won loads at the top, and im just embarking on a "natural" career starting at the bottom and working up. If you look above, i started a game with Solihull Moors (although now taken a step up to Dagenham & Redbridge). They were predicted to finish about 18th in Conference North, but i got them to 4th where i lost in the playoffs. I just tried to keep things as simple as possible. I played a simple style. It started as a 4-4-2, and then progressed into a 4-1-4-1. Just basically had them playing the percentages. Rather than playing expansive, fluid systems, i had them structured, less expressive, and running with the ball less on the bobbly pitches. Dont get your players doing risky things. Lets face it, youre not going to get St Albans Tiki Taka'ing their way through the sleet in January in the Vanarama. Id get players doing their jobs first and foremost. Get defenders defending for example. The style of play frankly wasnt great on the eye. I liked the ball over the top on the 2d pitch a lot, clearing the ball to the flanks, DEFINITELY NOT playing from the back. I tended to use a target man and then get a few forward players to work off them at the 2nd ball. Vary the set pieces, and hit early crosses to the front man. This is good for if you have a striker who has good physical attributes, strength, jumping reach etc. If you have a pacey striker (at the non league level id say around 12 for pace and acceleration) if you play him as an advanced forward, he will have more pace than the defenders he is up against, so with that instruction he should spring the offside trap pretty regularly, and trouble the defenders who wont match his pace. Two key attributes for players in those levels i found were stamina, and work rate. One or two good players can make all the difference at that level. And dont be afraid to use experience too. As i say, im no authority. It doesnt seem like people manage this far down in the game much, but hopefully others can give their ideas too.

So go to basics, and don't try to be too fancy and overthink things at that level..
Dan Posted 6 April 2015 Posted 6 April 2015 Any funny things happening on your game then? Leading on from what the other poster said about AC Milan going down that actually doesn't shock me that much. They're shocking. On mine... Sevilla are really poor, they're a bit of a Newcastle on my game now, they're flirting with relegation and it looks to me only a matter of time before they drop. Villarreal as well are slowly declining and are playing a team largely consisting of 20 year olds, although some are excellent. Bolton Wanderers are an absolute shoe-in to kick off next season as a non-league club. They're playing a team of youth players and sit bottom of League Two after two straight relegations, with it likely to become three. Sunderland are now a solid League One side and don't look like going up or down. Schalke actually won the league Eibar have been bought out by a tycoon, although they're looking a solid bet to head straight back down. They splashed £6mil on Sinan Kurt whilst in the second tier but have spent very little this season for some reason. Oh and of course, Las Palmas are European regulars (two years in a row through league finishes counts as regulars don't it? ) although we're having a bit of a mare this season, but it's nothing a couple of signings won't fix.
Frost Posted 6 April 2015 Posted 6 April 2015 Arsenal got relegated on mine on the last version (or maybe 13, can't remember). Was about 15 years in but still. My mate had to lose the last game of the season (as Luton, already won the league) to relegate Newcastle to League Two. Lost on purpose
Donut Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Well, what can I say. Season 2 of the "natural" career is over, and I dont think ive ever seen a season promise so much and deliver so little. The Daggers were predicted to finish 22nd in league 2, so avoiding the drop was always going to be a priority this season, but to finish 13th has left me happy in the sense we were comfortable in the table, but highly disappointed considering up until christmas, we were in the playoffs, and even topped the table for a brief period around 10 games in. The squad have suffered from "Curbishley Syndrome". As soon as we reached around 45 points, around the time of the new year, everyone switched off. Performances had been horrendous after that and ive never seen one of my teams dip so badly down the table. Early exits in all the cups, Capital One Cup to Ipswich, Rochdale in the FA Cup, and Southend in the JPT were particularly disappointing. The graph shows just how badly results tailed off in the 2nd half of the season. Ive barely won a game after going behind, a sure sign that the determination in the squad is fragile at best. A few notable mentions in the squad though. Connor Hunte, a left footed youngster brough in on a season long loan from Wolves was fantastic in making 16 assists this season. Id love to have him back next season. Justin Hoyte, a free transfer from Millwall brought bags of experience and steady performances to the squad and is still doing it on the international stage for Trinidad & Tobago, whilst Zavon Hines scored 10 goals from out wide and contributed plenty of assists to the cause, a quality player at this level. POTS was Abu Ogogo. Richly deserved, as good as a 7.2 average from the heart of midfield, ill be looking to build the team around him again next time around. Much work lies ahead though, its clear i need to sell. Ashley Chambers, ex Leicester, is the definition of deadwood. Useless. Christian Doidge showed promise initially, but Jodi Jones, a local lad and 17 years old, is the much better prospect in his position. Tactically, ill hold my hands up. I got it wrong this season at times. Over cautious and with a counter attack mentality, i didnt do enough to retain possession, nor create enough chances on goal. Plus some of the player roles ive chosen havent got the best out of my squad. Hopefully, Mikele Leigertwood should be joining the squad, and ive tested the waters with a bid for Paddy McCarthy from Palace. My first what id call "failed" season on the game.
LAprice_ Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 When I first started FM2015 with Leicester, I was atrocious; I actually thought Will Hughes would be okay. Once relegation was a certainty, I decided to play stupid tactics versus Chelsea: Wood (ST) Ulloa (LS) Nugent (RS) Schlupp (LW) Will Hughes (LAM) Powell (CAM) Knockaert (RAM) Mahrez (RW) King (CM) Cambiasso (CM) Schmeichel (GK) It goes without saying, I lost the game. 19-0. The post-match team-talk suggestion from Craig Shakespeare was fantastic, "We were really unfortunate today, reassure the players, let them know they played well."
Stadt Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 i thought abut trying to lose by a massive score on purpose the other day but 19!

Narborough_fox Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Just finished my second season with Palermo, won the Italian Cup and despite losing only 2 games all season I came second in the league to Juventus. This was how close it was... Played the same tactic as last year with just a few changes in personnel... Got 5 players in the team of the year. I won Manager of the Year, Dybala won Fans' player of the year, Butland was 2nd best goalkeeper of the year, Bellerin was Defender of the year and Belotti was 2nd top goalscorer. Just been offered the AC Milan job and really not sure whether to take it or not.
