broughtonblue Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Can't link as I'm on my mobile, but it seems yesterday that a 61 year old teacher was stabbed a number of times in the neck. This was done by a 15 year old pupil. The teacher died almost immediately. I think at 15 you know right from wrong, so the pupil knew exactly what they were doing. In my opinion in cases like this then prison is too good an option. If anybody can link then that would be brilliant

Hell, talk about knee-jerk reaction.

bovril Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Horrible. Poor woman and poor children who had to witness this, scarred for life doesn't even come close.
AoWW Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Reports describe him as being rather 'strange' and having previously been on medication. I'm guessing this may have had some bearing on his actions (although it clearly doesn't excuse them). A very sad event, though, and I feel for all those affected by it.

Just spat coke all over my paper RIP to the teacher, feel for the students as well, some could be scarred for life, it must be absolutely horrific to witness that in the classroom.
Dan Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Lock him up. Lets not pretend he didn't know what he was doing. Bet you get someone defend him because of his age.
Thracian Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 If the reports referred to are true, it sounds like another wacko who shouldn't have been in among the community in the first place - rather like the guy who murdered someone in Luton a while back. It certainly offers a better reason for teachers to strike. They should close every school until there's restrospective legislation to deal with the arsehole who did this once and for all by dropping him off in the Arctic and forgetting he ever existed...preferably by the end of next week ... and that to include the appeal. Alternatively the victim's family should be given retrospective right to decide sentence.
Thracian Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Lock him up. Lets not pretend he didn't know what he was doing. Bet you get someone defend him because of his age. There'll be all and sundry defending him and making excuses - most all of em people who never been the victims of serious crime or those who'll be banging on about human rights, juvenile lack of responsibility etc. It happens every time no matter how indefensible the crime or the criminals. It's time victims came first - always assuming the case is proved.
Buce Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 How he can escape conviction for stabbing someone to death in front of 30 witnesses is beyond me mate! He probably won't escape conviction, or deserve to; I am not making apologies for him. My point is that the poster comes on asking for details, yet has already assumed the position of judge, jury and executioner. That's the thin end of a very nasty wedge.

No details? 61 year old Teacher stabbed to death 15 year old pupil Numerous times in neck Some details above, just said I can't link it, you seem the sort of person from your reply that would happily defend the pupil!

Didn't ask for details at all, just said I can't link, read my post again!
Buce Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Just spat coke all over my paper I'm sure you could snort it back up, with a little care.. RIP to the teacher, feel for the students as well, some could be scarred for life, it must be absolutely horrific to witness that in the classroom. Yep, hopefully there will be counselling made available.

Buce Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 you seem the sort of person from your reply that would happily defend the pupil! Then you mis-judge me. But I am the sort of person who will wait for his trial before passing judgement.
broughtonblue Posted 29 April 2014 Author Posted 29 April 2014 Then you mis-judge me. But I am the sort of person who will wait for his trial before passing judgement. Ok, you possibly wanted to wait for the trial of Lee Rigby's killers before you passed judgement then?
Guest MattP Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 I think in cases like this/Lee Rigby etc it's quite ok to use some common sense from the information we have to make a judgement on what has happened. Whether he has mental issues etc will be assessed but I don't think it's ridiculous to suggest that this guy (or girl, look how Liberal I am!)will be locked up for a long long time whatever. Jimmy Savile was never convincted but I don't many people out there now would refuse to label him a peadophile as it was never proven in a court of law.
Vacamion Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 I just had to turn Sky News over because they think that wallowing in grief with the poor buggers affected is news. For crying out loud - they shouldn't be permitted to interview kids at the school, which they just did. I hate 24hr rolling news sometimes.
Buce Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Ok, you possibly wanted to wait for the trial of Lee Rigby's killers before you passed judgement then? Not at all, I saw the video evidence with my own eyes. All I 'know' about this case is what I've read.

Agree, no benefit to anyone watching young children cry through grief.

Ok, we will have to agree to disagree. If it's comes out at the trial the teacher 'self harmed' I will come round to your way of thinking
Vacamion Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Agree, no benefit to anyone watching young children cry through grief. Absolutely. Anyone kids or otherwise, crying through grief is not really fit to be broadcast. And the problem is, all people are different, some cry some don't, but you can bet those put in front of the TV cameras feel they have to cry to show they care.
