sylofox Posted 17 May 2014 Posted 17 May 2014 Don't we sound a classy bunch spreading around how our goalkeeper is a dick. Apparently showing that you're 'in the know' is more important than having a bit of respect for players who have promoted us. As for Southampton, sure they're better off than us now but all it takes is for their best players to get snapped up and their manager replaced by the next Peter Taylor and it all goes tits up. They're not a big enough club to do as well as they are long term. Similar size to us and there top flight record from the 70's is a damn site better than ours. More time in europe and an fa cup. We must be doomed then.
cc_star Posted 17 May 2014 Posted 17 May 2014 Highest paid player in the clubs history? How much was Jermaine 'feck all' Beckford on? Yuki Abe was on £40k according to the club he joined and from various sources Yakubu £35k, Beckford £30k Weren't we paying this sort of wage out when we were relegated and went into administration? If so I'd say Schmeichel joins the highest paid players in our history, but not necessarily IS the highest paid
Bert Posted 17 May 2014 Posted 17 May 2014 it really wont be. i know a couple of people involved in football on the money side and £40k is nothing even to bottom end team these days. Don't forget Cardiff in bottom got more cash than Utd as Champs had the previous year. ALL the clubs have money to spend if they want to. Also, normal player contracts have players doubling their wages upon promotion to the prem - this is likely to include all of our contracted players so some of them will be on half decent money (though obviously all the really big earners had contracts ending this summer) But do they? A lot of that money will go towards debt consolidation.
Daz93 Posted 17 May 2014 Posted 17 May 2014 The article says worth over £40k, so could it mean there's add-ons included with a basic wage at £30k?
FoxTrott Posted 17 May 2014 Posted 17 May 2014 Either Bert is trolling or there is a hitch in this deal. Don't really know if Bert has any credible sources any more as have not heard anything that has been confirmed by him in a while. But src is Twitter: https://twitter.com/BertLcfc

Lesta Legend Posted 17 May 2014 Posted 17 May 2014 The article says worth over £40k, so could it mean there's add-ons included with a basic wage at £30k? Yep could very well be the case And from what I've read (via man city ffp ruling Bumph) bonuses arnt included under ffp rules in the prem... maybe I read it wrong!
FoxTrott Posted 17 May 2014 Posted 17 May 2014 Fishing... Yeah I'd assume so. Not funny though, just annoying.
StanSP Posted 17 May 2014 Posted 17 May 2014 Yeah I'd assume so. Not funny though, just annoying. Or just don't be so gullible Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
Sharpe's Fox Posted 17 May 2014 Posted 17 May 2014 Over 2 million a year for a GK is a lot, hopefully we can recuperate it with a decent fee in a few years if true.
Bert Posted 17 May 2014 Posted 17 May 2014 @Dorselator: Kasper Schmeichel agrees verbally to new contract to stay at #lcfc in the Premier League. He will sign the deal in the middle of this week. Yeah I'd assume so. Not funny though, just annoying.Cheer up pal

LCFCCKEANO Posted 17 May 2014 Posted 17 May 2014 Hamer is supposed to be one of the more supportive characters in the dressing room at charlton, adn as for Kasper, he is just a ultra professional and you can probably imagine if their is friction it is because some see this ultra professionalism and hard work as snobbishness, and he will see them as petulant like a cool kid-nerd relationsship in a high school
Bert Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 Locking this thread as there is a similar one in the main forum and this seems all but done.
