Bettsj2 Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 Doesn't all this talk of kasper not fitting in with the "party boys" (didnt want to have to use that expression) kind of fall in line with the stereotype of goalkeepers being a bit odd anyway? Its a much more solitary roll than any other on the pitch. Whenever I've seen him with the rest of the players they all seem to get on ok. Maybe he's not full lad, but not everyone can be really. His relationship with the club and the fans seems fairly honest in my opinion. He travelled around quite a bit before coming to Leicester and i got the impression he wanted a bit of stability for a while. goalkeepers make names for themselves by serving clubs well for years on end not for having 1 or 2 good seasons. We need a full lad between the sticks. Maybe Hamer is a full lad with wicked bantz?
Ashley Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 I've got family who play for LCFC Academy and Kasper never wants to train with the young lads only interested in himself. He also said that he had a very tough upbringing.
Jay89LCFC Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 I remember Peter Schmeichal was on 5Live a few weeks ago, when asked where Kasper would be next season all he said was "he will be playing Premiership football"... I like Kasper, does seem a good character and is a very good goalkeeper with the potential to get even better, but if he doesn't sign I have faith in Pearson and Walsh to bring in an adequate replacement. I hope he signs but if he doesn't I just pray Conrad isn't between the sticks on the opening day!
shade Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 he just takes his job seriously, he's a focused kind of guy, also obviously likes authority, you can tell by the way he obviously buzzes off pearson, kasper is the kind of guy who would be a policeman if he wasn't a footballer.
Beliall Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 i hope he signs....but the longer this goes on, and the mroe i see his dad wearing a man u hat, the less i think he will
jayfox26 Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 I know someone who works for Bolton and once when we played Bolton they refused to turn the flood lights on early for him to train so he had a massive go at the staff at Bolton
Sharpe's Fox Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 Hope he signs, a big player for the club on the field as well as getting bums on seats and bringing international interest towards the club. If he signs just a two year deal we should claw back a decent fee if he wants to leave next season.

Exactly this, he is focused and hates anything not being done right, hence he was fuming after the Brighton game and at the pitch invasion at the end of the season. He wants to play in the Prem for Leicester, lets just hope it comes to fruition!!
Kitchandro Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 Don't we sound a classy bunch spreading around how our goalkeeper is a dick. Apparently showing that you're 'in the know' is more important than having a bit of respect for players who have promoted us. As for Southampton, sure they're better off than us now but all it takes is for their best players to get snapped up and their manager replaced by the next Peter Taylor and it all goes tits up. They're not a big enough club to do as well as they are long term.
Dan Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 I know someone who works for Bolton and once when we played Bolton they refused to turn the flood lights on early for him to train so he had a massive go at the staff at Bolton As long as he didn't call them an idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!! I heard Schmeichel retweets GeniusFootball.

fantastic_mr_fox Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 ReSigned a 4 year contract according to a sun journalist on twitter
StanSP Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 https://twitter.com/CharlieWyett/status/467422195057455104 Good albeit surprised that long if true. Regardless, I'm happy!

Similar to myself. Police = The only real people left.
hackneyfox Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 I can't imagine either the club or Schmeichel getting involved in a four year contract. Sure the club will confirm in the morning, it'll be on the OS sharpish.

Bert Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 I can't imagine either the club or Schmeichel getting involved in a four year contract. Sure the club will confirm in the morning, it'll be on the OS sharpish. Will it? . Delighted if it is true. If he ever decides he wants to leave we'll get a decent fee, or 4 years of a great goalkeeper.
Soar Fox Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 Is be very surprised if it was a 4 year contract. Wouldn't mind it being true though.
Happy Fox Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 Cannot afford to lose him, even if we keep him for another year, that will do me,but if he stays longer we have potentially one of the best keepers in the prem.
Tuna Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 https://twitter.com/CharlieWyett/status/467434897297403904 4 year deal being speculated. Although the key word in set to sign is obviously 'set'.
