ronnup Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 We need to keep him. Transfer fees for somebody similar or premiership quality will be at least 3 million. Then wages on top. Pay the man.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Sorry not linked but someone on Saints forum reckons deal is done
Buzzell Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/southampton-set-to-swoop-for-schmeichel/? Apparently all but confirmed Southampton on a 4 year deal? Eyefootbal.com??? fingers crossed its not true Bull and Shit!
KFS Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 lol I can't wait for next week when he's pictured squiggling on a dotted line.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 As if he's gonna go there with all the speculation surrounding their manager and spurs vacancy. Not having this.
Soar Fox Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 If he goes to Southampton then he's only going for the money, which I didn't think he was like tbh.
steveherbe Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 If he goes to Southampton then he's only going for the money, which I didn't think he was like tbh. And the weather, been glorious down here all day. Praps he wants a tan on that pasty Danish frame....

st albans fox Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Perhaps it's time for terry Robinson to step aside from negotiating with kasper's agent and to hand over to wasyl! Should be sorted within 10 mins!!

Then wages on top. Pay the man. 'somebody similar or premiership quality'? Pay the 3 million and get a premier quality keeper then. He's good but there are plenty of good keepers out there, he wouldn't be difficult to replace.
Babylon Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 I would think many players would think twice about rushing to sign for Saints at the minute. Speculation about their best players and manager, I'd be sitting tight and waiting to see what happened if I was half interested in going there.
KFS Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 They've got ample quality in that position anyway. Why would they just collect goal keepers? My Southampton supporting uni pals are obsessed with Boruc and think he's top four quality. Gazzaniga sits content on the bench, it's hardly a signing they need to make.
Webbo Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 Whether he's on the bench or not, if he's guaranteed another £25k a week for 2,3,4 years he'd be stupid not to take it. Good luck to him, he was a good keeper but not irreplaceable.

It would probably still work at cheaper than signing a replacement.

Guest Kopfkino Posted 15 May 2014 Posted 15 May 2014 I think it's looking increasingly likely that he'l leave and believe this has always been his intention despite the bullshit in the press. Decent enough keeper, done some cracking stuff and made a few memorable saves but he's got his downfalls and isn't irreplaceable. I still hope he stays but wish him all the best if he does go
Soar Fox Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 I meant in addition to the £30k a week. Ah sorry I thought you meant £30k a week at Southampton. To be honest I've always thought he'd leave whether we got promoted or not. chapero82 Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 I don't believe we have not made an offer tbh he says the same thing every time he leaves somewhere, that he didn't want to leave it's the clubs fault etc but he's replaceable so we will have to wait and see
ibbosuk Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 lol I can't wait for next week when he's pictured squiggling on a dotted line. He carn't squiggle on the dotted line till July 1st 2014 can he ? keep reading that's when the transfer window opens.
Banks Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 Sideways move if he goes to Southampton. Very disappointing...
Monsell1976 Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 Sideways move if he goes to Southampton. Very disappointing...Would be a shame if he leaves, great shot stopper, but weak at set peices, and commanding his box.Our lose would be Southampton gain, but he can be replaced quite easily.

Happy Fox Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 According to Rob Tanner, Kasper has 4 representatives no wonder it isn't as plain sailing!, having said that he also said that City are confident of getting the deal done.
Bert Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 I hope he signs. A good keeper who has a good rapport with the fans although I think some of the lads wouldn't be bothered if we was to leave.... Don't even think he's anywhere near his peak yet. Not irreplaceable of course but he's only gonna get better. I think he owes it to us to at least have a crack in the prem with us next season and if it goes tits up then yeah, it'll probably be best for both that he moves on. Has the potential to become a club legend, always says how much he loves "working" here and has been speaking as if he's going to stay. I'm hoping that's not all a front. Wouldn't begrudge him a move to a team playing Europa League or higher but I'd be very disappointed should he move to another PL side that aren't in Europe.
