MOTM against Exeter City?

WHY HAVEN'T WE SIGNED HIM ON?

Bert is that how you admit you were wrong?

Don't understand anyone being mean to a kid whose leaving the club. Why is there a need for that?

I agree, billy big bollocks reserve players for a Championship team acting like the don on twitter aren't going to win much love or get very far. Get off twitter and get your head down lads.

Wow! Why are you letting an ex-academy player get to you so much.

Eh? How is a passing comment him 'getting to me'? I'm just mentioning my opinion on it :S

Good luck to the lad. I think everyone wanted him to be a big success like Liam, but sometimes it just doesn't work out. I always thought he could go on and be a decent player but I just guess he didn't make enough progress this season to get a first team chance. In comparison, Liam's made a huge amount of progress and not only earned an opportunity to play in the first team, but also established himself as a valuable member of the team. There's no point in Taft wallowing away in the development team if he's got no chance of moving up (which, let's face it, will be even more limited next season).

Would be better for us to take on Miquel as he's of a similar age, has more experience and he's more likely to improve.

It was actually sarcasm.

Where have I been mean to him? I clearly wished him well and just said that he wasn't ever going to make it. To me that's just having a strong opinion.

Trust me Bert I saw a lot more of him than you did

He WAS more than good enough so where did it all go wrong that's the question that needs addressing here

Maybe the coaching , maybe George's lack of desire , maybe injuries , maybe Agents filling his head full of shite

Don't like the bloke but this reality check might just get him back on the straight and narrow so let's see how it pans out

More than good enough at the level he was playing at yes. We've stepped up this season in academy football and it seems that Taft hasn't been able to manage the step up. I've watched him enough to know that he just was never good enough to make it here. It seems the club seem to agree because otherwise they would've made him an offer.

Nothing personal against the lad, don't know him from Adam to have a rightful opinion to do so.

Taft - taking selfies is one thing, Photoshopping green eyes and a girly pattern on it is another, joining a club forum posing as a fan (when half if not all your posts are defending George Taft)... I don't know what you're trying to achieve. How about focussing on your profession, if you want to be a professional?

Question, is there any evidence behind this?

As for the 'selfies' and posting videos and editing his pictures, he should cut that shit out and try focusing on his footballing career before he ends up labouring on some building site somewhere.

So another next big thing from the academy hasn't made it. Was it Ricky Sappleton who was link with Man Utd and years ago didn't Christian Moore score goals for the youth team for fun. At 20 he can still have a great career ahaed of him and if he is moving to play regular football then fair play. Must admit some of the postings on social media is not my cup of tea but again i am not always impressed with what my kids post on facebook.

If and if it is an if he has a big time Charlie attitude i hope it changes for him. Remember someone who was supposed to be looking after the best interests of Joe Mattock got it into his head that he had learned enough here and his career would be better suited by a move. Hindsight shows staying and being mentored by the likes of Chrissy Powell  and learning the basics (always thought his positional sense was poor) would have took him further.

I saw him play pretty much a whole season on loan at Kettering and though he was playing in a truly gash side, he didn't look that much better than those around him. Good in the air but a bit of a hoof merchant. I think he'll go the same way as lads like Tom Parkes and Cian Bolger and forge a decent career at L1/L2 level.

This is the thing with academy football though. Ours always seems to be successful in the youth leagues but if they're focused on winning rather than developing players for professional football then it's less likely the most talented will break through. Their talents will be dulled and their potential stunted.

If you get a striker that's a good finisher but only knows how to use his pace to get on the end of direct passes, not a rounder game then he might succeed in youth football but he's learned nothing about the wider game because he's ridden on his natural ability that's made him a success against inexperienced players.

I would like to see a change in the mentality of our youth teams, more towards integrating some of the younger lads (16/17) with the seniors. They need to learn from better, more experienced players, not just focus on winning the u17's league.

What's he going to wear when walking round the Highcross now he won't have an LCFC tracksuit.

I remember someone saying a few years ago he will play for England soon.

Funny how these accounts pop up whenever there is any mention of Taft on here.

jesus christ. where's he at now?

On 3 August 2013, Sappleton joined Billericay Town as they rebuild their squad for an attempt of promotion back to the Conference South.

What you have got to remember is he has made it further in the leicester ranks than any of us so to question his football talent is poor .

That means we can't question any player at the club.

Which makes a decent percentage of the Internet redundant

Completely off topic but seeing Ricky 'Chunk' Sappleton reminded me of this:

Anyone remember Neil Shipperley....

Reminds me of Steve Mcnulty who next year will be playing in the FL...
