GDubyah Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 As the admin of a forum that specialises in the premier league, I 'm interested to know how you think Leicester will fare in their first season back in the top flight. You took the Championship by storm really, and it's known as one if not the toughest league to get out of, and stay out of, realistically looking at things it's a fact that one if not two of the promoted clubs go striaght back down each season. I know you don't think Leicester will do that, but what can you see them doing, where will you pick up points, and where will you drop them. All decent replies will be copied to my forum with a link to here. TIA G Dubyah.

kane Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 i think we will stay up and with one or two quality additions i think 13/14th is realistic. i think we can beat the two teams promoted with us and the likes of villa hull and palace will be potential 6 points . we have a quality spine of the team from schmeichel Morgan (pace may let him down) drinkwater and James. we do need some strengthening in attack though as we are a little light weight however i think vary will surprise a few and can easily get 10 goals . knockaert and mahrez should dazzle and will expect to see them flourish pearson is becoming a father figure to the team and we will get stronger and stronger . i just hope the new season ticket holders don't expect miracles and support the team through the inevitable tough run ins grammer is not my strong point so i hope it makes sense
Fifties Blue Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 For an average to fair season 8 or 9 home wins Burnley QPR Newcastle WBA Palace Villa Hull Stoke Swansea 27 points 2 or 3 away can-wins Palace Burnley Hull 36 points Always surprise wins away Tottenham Swansea 42 points Usually at least one unexpected left field win Home to Man U 45 points 4 or five hard fought draws 50 points final position 12th/13th?
Fox Ulike Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 For an average to fair season 8 or 9 home wins Burnley QPR Newcastle WBA Palace Villa Hull Stoke Swansea 27 points 2 or 3 away can-wins Palace Burnley Hull 36 points Always surprise wins away Tottenham Swansea 42 points Usually at least one unexpected left field win Home to Man U 45 points 4 or five hard fought draws 50 points final position 12th/13th? Could you be a bit more specific please? But yeah. Agree. I'll go for 12th. We have a lot of players who are already good enough to play in the Premiership. We also have a great team spirit, and bags of confidence following a season where we where clearly head-and-shoulders better than anyone else we played. We also have the advantage that many of our players like Mahrez, De Laet, James, Moore and Drinkwater are relative unknowns. I can see a fair few sides under-estimating us in the first half of the season and getting well beaten by us. As always for promoted sides, the second half of the season will be tougher, but I think Pearson has the mental toughness to carry the squad through any difficult period.
Ric Flair Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 I'm nowhere near as confident as most of our fans, but I'm more than happy for me to be proved wrong. I think we will ship a lot of goals as our defence is nowhere near good enough and I worry that our management thinks they are better than they are. The signing of Upson hardly installs anymore confidence even if he might help with our chronic set piece issues. I think Morgan will be atrocious next year and Wasilewski might not get the same leniency shown by premier league refs. That said, I've every faith in Liam Moore continuing to prosper if given the chance (doubts he will be) and I can see Schlupp improving as well. I think our midfield has Premier League potential and with another addition or two will be even more welcome. Up front I think Vardy will be a threat but I'd like to see at least 2 more forwards come in before I'm confident we'll score enough goals to stay up. Prediction is 16th because I can't bare to type " relegated "

The expectations on them will be much greater than us.
wight88 Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 We went straight back down the last time we were promoted to the prem so someone else's turn this time. Hopefully we can emulate our previous first season showing of 9th from 96/97.
copunk Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 realistically I reckon we can finish anywhere from 14th to 10th, would happily take 17th without doubt, IMO this squad, with a few more editions are a lot better then like likes of west brom, stoke, palace, sunderland, burnley, qpr
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 I think we will finish around the 13-17th slots and I would be happy with that first season back etc
Captain... Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 It is still very early to tell, we have the nucleus of a great young squad, but with 0 prem experience, we could capitulate or get off to flyer, it really depends how quickly the likes of Drinkwater, James, Vardy, De Laet, Mahrez and Knockeart find their feet. I would be happy to finish 17th, I really have no idea where we will finish too many variables.
Webbo Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Somewhere between 10th and 15th, I'm fairly confident we can stay up.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 I am not overly confident, but there will be a couple or so more players coming in. Last season was a massive turn around from the previous one, where we had a disastrous run towards the end of the season. This year we have been fantastic, and were deservedly run away winners. The Premiership of course is a "horse of a different colour", and I feel we will struggle to come to terms with it., and just hope we can produce enough positive results to keep us up. If we can do that, then I am optimistic that we can establish ourselves and become a fair side at that level.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 When on form this season we would've competed with the bottom 10 of the PL. We have a very good squad and with a couple more additions and assuming the camaraderie of the squad isn't upset by some players being on PL wages i could see us finishing around 15th
Culletonfox Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 It's very important we get off to a good start! As history tells us racking up points early in the season helps with the survival cause! So for me it's down to the fixture list we get, if we can avoid any tough teams like man city, Liverpool and Chelsea in the first 10 games we stand a good chance IMO. Prediction 16th.

Sorry I do not go with that I would take any of them and Man U ASAP. The amount of times top teams struggle with form at the start of the season means you can have a go at them. Plus not facing any of them in the first 10 games means you could face 5 of them in your last few games. Would not want a Norwich type run in for nothing. Knowing you have to be safe going into your last four games.

gerrytaggart Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Unbeaten at home and picking up serious points on the road.
seenitall Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Obviously less optimistic than some, I can see us surviving but in a Hull like manner - perhaps a good start followed by a disaster as teams work us out followed by a scrap to stay up - but I think it is too close to call until we perhaps sign some more quality

Palace and Hull as examples. Hopefully not doing it the way Palace did with being last Xmas and then sacking our manager.

I do, teams that have accumulated over 100 points in the championship have gone on to finish 14th and above in the prem, Reading finished 8th, Newcastle 12th and Fulham 14th. We will finish conformably above the relegation zone imo predicted finish 11th-15th.
