DennisNedry Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 COME ON GERMANY deutschland über alles!! Ich liebe die weiner!! ich tragen Lederhosen und Bier trinken!!
Guest ttfn Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 Exactly, really annoys me. All the pointing to the sky crap. Thanking The Lord/praying for one Christian country to beat another is pretty odd.
fazzyfox Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 I never thought I'd want the Germans to win, but after that Deutschland Uber Alles I've already put my towel on the best chair, ordered some German Beer and become ever so disciplined and organised in everything I do.
theessexfox Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 Not sure which was most painful; the commentating, the refereeing or Brazil winning.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 Whilst it's not a yellow the free kick Luiz scored from was without question a free kick.
Guest ttfn Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 As for the referee it was one of those where rather than failing to get the big incidents right, he was entirely responsible for creating a culture in which James got kicked out of it.
lgfualol Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 Thanking The Lord/praying for one Christian country to beat another is pretty odd. "God, before you go ahead and feed all the starving people and end suffering, it's REALLY important you put all your powers into letting us win a trophy"
Tom17LCFC Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 Whilst it's not a yellow the free kick Luiz scored from was without question a free kick. yeah think those suggesting otherwise are clutching at straws a bit. still a shit ref though.
Kitchandro Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 Did Hoddle just say that an erratic Brazil is not 'the Brazil we know' Has he ever watched a Brazil side in his life?
ScouseFox Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 Whilst it's not a yellow the free kick Luiz scored from was without question a free kick. Yep, that was right, the pen/yellow decision was right but as has been said he ruined columbia's chances by letting brazil boot the shit out of James. wasn't even subtle volleying him every time he had the ball. Brazil looked shit in open play, two set piece goals to go with the one they scored last round. Uninspiring.
Amin Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 My ****ing heart. I don't think I'm going to make it to the semi's. Forget James, David Luiz just scored goal of the tournament. Brazil are apparently shit, but it's got them to the semi's. I'll take that any day.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 Thanking The Lord/praying for one Christian country to beat another is pretty odd. "I lifted my eyes to the heavens and asked for help because if God exists, there's no way he's French." Andrea Pirlo, possibly the best quote ever.
fazzyfox Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 Small consolation perhaps but my Totty Of The Tournament award goes to the Columbian fans.
MC Prussian Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 Did Hoddle just say that an erratic Brazil is not 'the Brazil we know' Has he ever watched a Brazil side in his life? Brazil in the past were a footballing side with an attractive style of play - the classic image, almost cliché-ish. This WC's Brazil is a shadow of its former self. A collection of talented footballers, no doubt. But without any flair, bar Neymar. They're huffing and puffing towards the finishing line and have flattered to deceive up to this point. Long balls forward, kick and rush, little to no concept, passes going all astray, etc. So, he's got a point there, that Glenn.
Kitchandro Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 yeah think those suggesting otherwise are clutching at straws a bit. still a shit ref though. What's clutching at straws is saying that a playing jumping over another player who's pulling out of a tackle and then making no attempt to land on his feet is now a free kick. Unfortunately, people have been brainwashed by modern football so much that they have accepted that almost anything is a free kick. Man falls over = free kick Slide tackle (regardless of how much contact is made or whether he wins the ball) = free kick Man opens mouth really wide and screams as if shot in the testicles with a bazooka = red card Man holds face = red card ball goes into the box from a set piece and the goalkeeper doesn't catch it = free kick It's just been a slow change of the rules since Jurgen Klinsmann introduced diving on a world scale. And again, tonight it has spoilt a match which could have been great. My ****ing heart. I don't think I'm going to make it to the semi's. Forget James, David Luiz just scored goal of the tournament. Brazil are apparently shit, but it's got them to the semi's. I'll take that any day. no

(Are you even watching ITV where you are?) He said they were erratic, and that wasn't classic Brazil. They've always been erratic. They've always been a flair side who are suspect defensively and give away crap, amateurish goals too often. Look back to any world cup and you will see examples of this. It's why they got knocked out of Spain 82 for example. Think of players like Roberto Carlos (quick, forward thinking full back who was a poor defender). That side of Brazil has always been. What is true, is this is the worst all round Brazil side I've ever seen.
Salieri Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 Spoilt the match?? Was a great spectacle regardless of refereeing decisions.

No Thiago or Neymar against Ze Germans and they could be in trouble. Unfortunately I'll never forgive the Germans for 90 or 96 or even the last game at Wembley (very impressionable ages) so that's a lose lose for me.
Haydos Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 https://vine.co/v/MUjJvVixHAn More class from David Luiz. Proper bloke.
Kitchandro Posted 4 July 2014 Posted 4 July 2014 I don't know what game you were watching, I had Brazil vs. Columbia on telly. Yeh so did I, that match where the best team was stifled by a poor Brazil side who were allowed to break up play by fouling in what would have otherwise been an open game with plenty of chances, and would have been lit up by the best player of the tournament so far. What we got was a match which promised much but delivered little, and the referee is totally to blame.
