Read a tweet on Twitter that the flight returning bodies to Holland, has crash landed in Eindhoven.

Both flights, one from the Royal Netherlands Air Force and one from Australia (I think) are safely back in Eindhoven and the bodies being repatriated.

A passsenger plane went down yesterday in Taiwan as well though it was hardly reported over here.

I have no clue why I even did this but I looked at a photo on the Reddit site and I don't think I've ever been so horrified by something - a dead kid still strapped in a chair, basically - beyond heartbreaking.  I only looked at it for a second but it imprinted itself on my brain and it's only 4 days later that the memory of it is fading a bit, and I've felt a bit f**ked up by it, so how someone actually connected to that kid would feel if they saw it - or even if they didn't - is beyond my imaginings.

 

I had to sift through several of those images at work, as they were jumbled with ordinary wreckage shots (not exactly a barrel of laughs I can tell you)  

 

Odd how some bodies were badly mangled, others unmarked. Many were naked, apparently stripped by the rush of air and the fall.

I well remember having to look at photos of murder and accident victims. for police training purposes.

There is a video on YouTube filmed inside the plane when it was being boarded in Amsterdam. Its only 15 secs long, uploaded to Instagram just before takeoff, but quite harrowing to think that everybody in the video was dead about 4 hours later.

Yeah, and many of them are clearly recognisable in these pictures, lying dead in a field.

 

As someone said, it must be very disturbing for the families if they happen to see this stuff. Even knowing it's out there is bad enough

A possible crumb of comfort amongst all this horror is that the consensus amongst folk that would supposedly know about these things seems to be that everyone on board would be unconscious within a few seconds and wouldn't have suffered. I really hope they're right on that
