johnny the fox Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Don't know what the injury was but I could of been back quicker after having a foot amputated.
jamesmilner Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 A 35YR old coming back from a long lay off after injury would be hard for any player . we will have to see how he does .
ronnup Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 Given his fitness and his age it's an absolute shocker that we have him a contract. However, if he comes and and does a great job for us. It'll be worth it. Nobody can argue that we don't need sone experienced premiership defenders right now.
AyewJoking Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 do you think were paying him more than he was on at brighton?

It'll be worth it. Nobody can argue that we don't need sone experienced premiership defenders right now. It is rather unfortunate that he got injured early on or rather that he requires a surgery that keeps him out of the game for that long. However, we signed him on a free transfer and none of us really knows on how much money he is on at the moment. I'd rather have a fully fit Upson than one that is rushed back too early, aggravating his injury even more and ending up being no use to us.
AyewJoking Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 I hope he's back in time for next seasons Championship campaign
Tommy G Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 ''it will be like a brand new signing for us'' Pearson in about 6 weeks
Freesolo Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 He must know his career is pretty much over he has one season at best, slam him full of painkillers and cortisone shots and run him into the ground till he can walk anymore
sylofox Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 He must know his career is pretty much over he has one season at best, slam him full of painkillers and cortisone shots and run him into the ground till he can walk anymore lol Do you not think that is just a little harsh on him.
sylofox Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 Desperate times call for desperate measures Not a problem then. So if we don't get the 3pts on Saturday can we handcuff the whole team to the back of the coach. Then drag them behind along the M27 up the A34 to the M40 after all the have 2 weeks to recover?
sylofox Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 We're on to something here Fifa coaching badge grade 1 +cp (corporal punishment)
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 No worse than Wasyl and knows the Prem inside out...... has to be a positive

It'll be worth it. Nobody can argue that we don't need sone experienced premiership defenders right now. yes his fitness was awful last season only managing to play 47 games in total and was Brighton's player of the season. What was Pearson thinking. if only he had 'anothershitseason's' crystal ball to know he would be out injured for so long....

ImBlue Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 No worse than Wasyl and knows the Prem inside out...... has to be a positive Please explain the basis for saying he is as good or better than wasilewski?
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 Please explain the basis for saying he is as good or better than wasilewski? 1. As good, if not a better header of the ball 2. Doubt he will be any slower, neither are very quick to be fair. 3. Better distribution 4. Experience of the Prem Those above points dont mean to say he's class but i dont see how he'd be any worse
lgfualol Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 I like how is is the only player wearing last seasons training jumper. Pearson wants him to prove his worth before upgrading his training jumper
sylofox Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 1. As good, if not a better header of the ball He may have been 2. Doubt he will be any slower, neither are very quick to be fair. Again he may have been but as you have not seen him week in week out how do you know 3. Better distribution When have you seen him week in week out to know this 4. Experience of the Prem Yes will give you that one Those above points dont mean to say he's class but i dont see how he'd be any worse So 3 of your 4 points are just guessing.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 So 3 of your 4 points are just guessing. I've watched him play many times and know how good he is in the air in both boxes..... Ask Brighton fans last year as well..... Pace wise, fair point but Waysl isnt quick so Upson cant be alot different, he's never been rapid has he
