daddylonglegs Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 I'll be shocked if he makes more than 10 appearances for us this season. Time to get in another centre half in. you think so? would you now argue CB is a priority?
Soar Fox Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 you think so? would you now argue CB is a priority? I wanted another centre half in anyway, but after reading that article it doesn't seem like we'll be seeing him play anytime soon. Yes I would say it is a priority along with a new left back.
Dickov22 Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Centre half is an absolute necessity! Preferably one who is the right side of 30 and can dominate a penalty area aerially

Guest Col city fan Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Would love Steven Taylor from Newcastle, if he's over his injury that is. Yep, I can see that. A 'Pearson type player' no less.
Leicesterpool Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Is there any decent premier league defender we can pull in on loan?Â
Fox92 Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Is there any decent premier league defender we can pull in on loan? Doubt it. Like Nige said, these sort of loans would command a large fee which would be used to just get a permanent replacement in.
johnny the fox Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Lescott would have been perfect sounds like he is becoming a crock,,
kingfox Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Just get in Russell Martin from Norwich, can cover right-back & centre back, jobs a goodenÂ
queensguardfox Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Pearson as player manager would do me! two players with lots of potential red cards for sticking the nut on players!
Tielemans63 Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Just get in Russell Martin from Norwich, can cover right-back & centre back, jobs a gooden One tiny flaw in that plan..... ....he's shit.
Stadt Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Well what a pointless signing!Well he's going to recover from this injury and Coukd potentially be a key squad member do it's not pointless yet, is it?
Tuna Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Surprise surprise, What did we expect, an absolutely useless signing. Â We need to get proper cover at Centre back as a priority, an injury to Big Wes or RDL and we are fooked. We've no genuine cover whatsoever.
LAprice_ Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 I'd only call him a useless signing at the end of the season. He was fit during most his time at Brighton and was one of the best CBs in the league. Nobody could have predicted the injury, it's just one of those things. I hope he gets fit quickly because he could be very important for us.
cc_star Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 Crikey a lot of people crying on here, want cover for this or cover for that  Forgetting that cover for cover's sake causes all the problems we only got rid of over the last triumphant season as Pearson worked hard to cast off players upsetting the apple cart because they thought they could pick the team with their name first on it.  A small close knit squad who will go the extra mile for each other is worth 10 also-rans as 'cover' Record after record after record fell last season & people are writing us off because of perceived issues before we've even kicked a ball.  We need other options upfront, we've got that, we need a better aerial presence at the back particularly for set pieces, and if fit, in Upson we've got that.  A promoted club isn't going to attract any player of real genuine top half of Prem quality until we've survived a season, unless they come purely for the money... and Pearson has not long got rid of those types  I love the way Upson is being blamed for Germany tearing us a new one, yet no one is mentioning that Germany could tear everyone a new one and in fact Upson & the defence as a whole was horribly exposed by unsuitable tactics and a slow as **** midfield with Barry & Milner particularly exposed, but yeah... it's all Upson's fault
theessexfox Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 If Big Wes gets injured, I'd be confident in Was and Moore to step up.  Not so sure about if De Laet gets injured though, would like competition for him.Â
Claridge Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 If Big Wes gets injured, I'd be confident in Was and Moore to step up.  Not so sure about if De Laet gets injured though, would like competition for him. Was in the prem  and Moore couldn't even get in above him last season
theessexfox Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 What's wrong with an experienced international in the Prem? Moore played well until injured and struggled to break back into a winning and record-breaking side, doesn't make him any less of a good defender with bags of potential.Â
lcfcsnow Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Pearson has signed a dud every season since he came back. Whitbread & Futacs (2012), Bakayogo (2013), now Upson.
