JonnyBoy Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 you are absolutely right, however people who are in delusion over nugent will hate you for writing such a post, nugent is a good player and what he has done for us has been fantastic, the fact is he will not cut it at this level and should not be first choice at the most he should be 3rd choice striker, people will go mental on this forum for people saying the truth about him, then there might be 1 in 10 games where nugent will score a open goal and lcfc fans see him as good as ronaldo, people need to wake up or enjoy life back on the championship! could not put this better myself, Should have scored v Chelsea, his touch is shite, hes slow and runs around generally trying to but not delivering. Yes he did it for us last season in the CHAMPIONSHIP but that's a different kettle of fish. i don't think he will get any more than 4 league goals this season. Vardy and Ulloa for me, Chris Wood third choice. People will definitely have a period about this opinion
Spudulike Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 I'd have thought a centre-back will be on the loan radar to cover until Upson is available. 3 is not enough, lose one or both of Liam and Wes and we'll be in trouble. When does the loan window close ??
kingfox Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 Beg to differ a little, thought Jeffrey scared the 'kin life out of 'em with his pace tbh! Pace will be important, Schlupp, Mahrez & Vardy will offer it, but I think a bit more wouldn't go a miss. For me Nugent off the ball works hard, but on it he isn't a player who will frighten defences when running at them, he is a player who has to slow play down and wait for others to come into play, instead of taking the ball forward himself. Another striker with pace who can play out wide also would be decent.
MC Prussian Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 We might need another striker, yet we already have Ulloa, Nugent, Vardy and Wood on our books. I can't see Pearson favouring a formation with two strikers up front in the starting eleven (as in a 4-4-2, for instance) too often this season. He likes to work with wingers or midfielders on the left and right flank, so it's either a 4-3-3 or maybe even a 4-4-1-1 (or more a 4-1-3-1-1 with a CDM covering the centre three), where Nugent is the centre-forward behind whomever is playing up front. I'd rather have us go for another left-back and centre-back. All other positions are pretty much covered. I was an advocate for a left-winger, too. But having seen Schlupp operating up there, we'll be fine with Albrighton and also Mahrez able to play in that position.
5waller5 Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 For what it's worth I think we'll get two new signings and maybe one outgoing .... As long as the outgoing is someone like GTF then I think that's just about enough with the two signed in the last few days.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 I noticed Jay Lloyd Emmanuel Thomas scored again for Bristol City again today He would be a Great signing
SystonFox Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 I hate the hype about Sky Sports deadline day, I hate how the window always SLAMS shut, I hate Jim White's booming voice, I hate seeing absolute goons standing around an unlucky presenter outside a stadium and I hate seeing the wheela-fackin-deala hanging out of his car window telling us that he doesn't deal with transfers for the 232nd time this window. I quite like Natalie Sawyer though.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 1 September 2014 Author Posted 1 September 2014 The next four hours will be very interesting. I just wonder if there be any surprises in store?

FoxLAD Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 If Hull sign Ben Arfa .. they're going to be a right force this season. very good squad.
Kitchandro Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 If Hull sign Ben Arfa .. they're going to be a right force this season. very good squad. They've got a few good players but plenty of average ones. Bruce, Rosenior, Snodgrass, Boyd, McShane, Brady, Quinn. I wouldn't be interested in any of them. Ben Arfa is a great player on form though.

Kitchandro Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Boyd has gone Burnley. But still... Huddelstone, Jelevic, Diame, Livermore, Hernandes and dawson Right you are. Meh, Jelavic has been less than impressive for some time and I've never really rated Huddelstone. I can't say I'm massively jealous.
Collymore Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Ben Arfa is an unbelievably bad person to have in the dressing room and Newcastle can't wait to get rid. I am actually ITK on that.

I can believe that. That's the catch. Great player on his day, but a fvcking risky signing - could be poisonous for the team as a whole.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 September 2014 Posted 2 September 2014 I noticed Jay Lloyd Emmanuel Thomas scored again for Bristol City again today He would be a Great signing oi! You leave JET out of it. He's quality, the lad.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 2 September 2014 Author Posted 2 September 2014 The two signings yesterday were ok, so I'm happy.
Buce Posted 3 September 2014 Posted 3 September 2014 The two signings yesterday were ok, so I'm happy. DANGEROUS TIGER07 Aug 2014 Oh man! If he came, I'd walk backwards from John O groats to Lands End, and back again! Can I have your season ticket?
