Spanner73 Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 It's good to know that not all of us are burying our heads in the sand and can identify we need 2 goalscorerers , for those who disagree I'd love to know which of our current strikers are going to score enough goals to keep us in the Barclays premier league

Not so sure when it comes to the others.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 31 August 2014 Author Posted 31 August 2014 We really do need another striker, and a left back, but I hope we don't bring in two players, who are unproven, and merely brought in due to time running out.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 First deadline day in a while where I do think we will be busy. Id expect lots of rumors and maybe two signings
MHC Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 First deadline day in a while where I do think we will be busy. Id expect lots of rumors and maybe two signings After today's game I'm not sure we need anybody. I don't think we will be busy at all. Nigel will go for a bike ride instead.
copunk Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 can defo see a new striker coming in, maybe a new left back although I think konch has been superb so far this season
Lestoh Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 As others have said, I love Nuge and appreciate what he's done for us, but I'm not totally convinced he can be a top striker in the Premier League. I'd like to see us bring in another quality striker to give him competition and, if necessary, replace him as our first choice. Doubt we will, though.
majaco Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 Bringing in a quality player or two will be a bonus. The bench was strong today. We could cope with no deadline signings.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 I don't want to bangle on about it but it will just another manic Monday

I see your point in relation to Nugent's finishing mentality which could improve. Even though today's chance would have gone in if it wasn't blocked he had time to take an extra touch which could have proved to be the difference of scoring and missing, and last week's miss was a case of Courtois making a good save and Nugent failing to go around him which would have resulted in a goal. He has the ability to finish, he just needs to improve on his mentality in these situations. If he does he could be a devastating attacker because his work rate is second to none.

Problem we have though is if he isn't able to make that step up, do we stick with an average player who occasionally puts in an above average performance but definitely deserves to play for the team he helped get promoted, or do we replace him with someone who will get us more goals? Heart says the former, head says the latter. Still, none of us are qualified to make that call after 3 games against top 7 sides, and I really hope he does manage to put a few away this season.

I reckon Nigel has got him playing more deep so far this season which might be preventing him from getting into the positions strikers like to be in. I get your point and I think he will struggle to get 10 goals this season but I don't think Pearson is in a rush to get someone else in, if the right players comes along at the right price than we will probably sign them. I just can't see Nigel getting dragged into the whole deadline day panic buy drama.
AKCJ Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 Can see someone coming in for Knocky but I think we'll keep him. Also think we'll put in one serious money bid for a forward. Maybe someone like Deeney after his manager has gone.
ktfox59 Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 I can honestly say after watching today's match, that with the two week break coming up and the injury situation nearly sorted, I would be very surprised if we did much business tomorrow. The signing of Danny Simpson will be a welcome addition esp covering RDL. Maybe a cb and a striker if nige finds some quality at the right price. Today I was proud to be a city fan. Only one thing. This is a tough learning curve. We need to put away glaring chances. May be on niges mind tomorrow.
LCCFox96 Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 One arrival tomorrow I think. An attacking player or an out and out striker.
Happy Fox Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 Striker. Another player similar to Vardy would be nice!
AKCJ Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 Winger maybe? Proper out and out left winger. Why oh why did we release Dyer?
Brooksy Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 Just a striker I reckon. Probably that N'Doye bloke.
Spanner73 Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 He mentioned tonight players and signings so could be more than 1 , the only thing he didn't do was punch stringer ggggrrr I can't stand that @@@@

kingfox Posted 31 August 2014 Posted 31 August 2014 We lacked raw pace today, until Vardy came on. Schlupp & Mahrez are fast, but not fast enough. Bit more pace & maybe a CB bit worried if we get an injury or suspension in defence, like we have done in midfield.
