Why do people consider it ok knowing they have hit a parked car and then drive off anyway 😡 My daughter was parked in the car park at her netball club tonight and a van pulled out of the space next to her and has scratched and scrapped the corner of her front bumper. Witnesses saw the male driver get out the van and look and then just got back in and drove away. We have very clear photos of the van and registration so do we report him to the police straightaway or do you give him time as it has been reported to the football and rugby teams that share the car park that there are witnesses

Putting the proverbial knife into a cyclist today. Was at a cross roads and going straight ahead with a cyclist some way behind me. He flies through on the inside without looking for traffic after I'd set off and then turns right missing me by a fraction. There wasn't any cars near us where I could even justify this to get ahead of some cars, just absolutely stupidity and miracle he wasn't under my car.

Cyclists are as bad as lorry drivers they think they own the road.

if you have photo, registration and witnesses then report it to your insurance

We arent all feckers but there are a load of twatty cyclists nowadays.

I always go out of my way to be as courteous as possible to car drivers as it only takes one fecker to swipe you off the road

Report him.

When it happened to us, the driver ended up with a £2.5k fine and an awareness course. He was done for leaving the scene of an accident.

Had a note on my windscreen with their details as they had driven off.

My daughter has logged it via the police website and has notified her insurance. It didnt look too bad last night but in daylight it shows up more, it has scratched the bumper and the wing so basically 2 panels will need repairing so its not something we are just going to let go.

Well that's different. Perhaps they didn't have time to stick around and wait but they did the right thing so you could contact them to get it sorted.

The fine and charge is a bit harsh in that situation IMO.

The note wasn't from the driver.....

My Uber driver last night.

Pulls out onto several roundabouts without looking. One was a very close call resulting in a very angry fellow road user.

Runs several red lights, including that resulted in a very sharp turn as he realised he was about to go straight on and miss the turning. Bearing in mind there was a cyclist approaching the lights at around the same time and we all know they can often run red lights, I'm not sure he checked his mirror and blind spot before he swung around the corner.

At the red lights he did stop at he just cut a knackered, disinterested figure.

Dropped me off, clearly didn't check his mirrors or blind spot before he pulled away as he almost pulled out straight into a car that was driving past. Another loud honking from a fellow road user.

Boggles the mind.

I was gonna say go to Insurance first and then report it to Police. Unlikely the latter will have resource to follow up but if you've got the other vehicle details that's usually okay and enough for the insurance company.

Have done this before. I saw a car get hit by another driver in a retail park.

It was quite substantial damage on what seemed a fairly expensive car.

Later that evening the driver/owner of the vehicle contacted me about it, saying she was really grateful I left a note etc. I then said if you need me as a witness etc let me know.

Then to my surprise she said 'don't worry about it I'm not going to do anything and will just get it replaced myself' lol

Bizarre but felt like I did my bit!

Did anything come of your accident?

Not yet, still waiting.

I need to email the police and I still can't get my arm up high enough to type and, a bit lazy I know, I don't want to type one handed, it will take forever lol

Thanks for asking.

I bet they would point you to your insurance provider anyway given all the details are there:brendan:

Joining the M69 from the M6 where the lanes merge from the M6 and the A46 I was in the left merging lane but I had to brake hard as some dick was in lane one, undertaking a van in lane two.

There's so much ignorance and blind stupidity on the motorways.

Saw a driving instruction car driving down a full-time bus lane today. There was only one person in it so I assume it was the instructor

Sheffield is very good at a 2 lane approach to a traffic lighted crossroads, the right hand lane says straight ahead and right..... until it says right turn only.

By which time you're rather stuck in the wrong lane to go straight on.
