Good post, although in no way did I say Muslims vote for respect, I said based on the muslim demographic in South Leicester it would be highly likely in the election where they got 16% of the vote they would have elected Respect had the demographics been that of Bradford West or Bethal Green and Bow.

Has a good voting record, although was one of the Labour MP's exposed employing people on zero hour contracts and not paying the living wage.

My bad, mate!

It's an allegation constantly levelled - it's generally people who are ignorant who just happen to be Muslims.

Nationalists are pretty much always nutters - amazed people still think the SNP are a bunch of lefties.

Not really, Sturgeon comes across as ferociously left-wing these days.

They do seem to moved on now from the 'Tartan Tory' days, although it would be interesting to see them if they actually had to run a budget properly without subsidy - I get the feeling UKIP are going to try the same route of right to centre/left judging by their mainfesto.

Question - is it a breach of regulations or illegal to post exit polls? Think it is but not certain.

Yep, carries a 6 month prison sentence for posting before polls close - guess which George G has posted one on his Twitter at lunchtime today? lol

You want to read some of the SNP stuff. Obsessed with conspiracy theories, a lot of them still believe the referendum was rigged.

There is some fringe group of the party tonight stationing themselves outside polling booths to follow the boxes to the count.

Source? Haven't seen anything like that... not saying you're wrong but it would be a good read.

UKIP's policies seemed very hotch-potch to me. They ranged from old fashioned Tory (reintroduction of grammar schools) to quite left wing policies such as abolishing income tax for workers on minimum wage.

Was in The Times this morning, Operation Scallop.

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politics/police-scotland-warn-polling-stations-5650534

CONSPIRACY theorists are urging voters to photograph their ballot papers and follow ballot boxes to counting centres to stop the election being “rigged”.

The social media campaign, called Operation Scallop by organisers, has forced police and election officials to send warnings to polling stations.

The plan has been formed on the back of unfounded claims – repeatedly rejected by the

SNP – that the independence referendum was rigged. Activists have issued a bullet-point “to do” list for supporters – including advice not to act “too suspicious”

The organisers suggest voting in the last hour before polls close at 10pm and tell people to photograph papers while taking care not to reveal identities.

The advice adds: “After voting, hang about outside, ideally near the car park. But do not act too suspicious. We want the police watching the polling station not distracted by us.”

Voters are then told to follow ballot boxes to counting centres, taking careful note of timings.

Followers are asked to be polite and courteous to police.

Scotland’s electoral management board have sent warnings about the plan to returning officers nationwide.

Officials have been advised to ban photos in polling stations.

Police chiefs have told divisional commanders about the campaign, and urged them to be aware on the roads when ballot boxes are being transported.

Can you imagine Scotland going independent? Now that north sea oil and gas has well and truly dried up I don't know where they think they are going to get the money for all the wonderful left wing proposals they come up with let alone the things we already subsidise. And they can hardly raise income tax massively when people can just move south of the border. Could be good news for the north I suppose.

They also think they can keep the pound but it wouldn't be in our interest to let them and they have more chance of reaching a world cup final than getting into the Euro after the mess with Greece, Cyprus and Portugal. I could actually see it getting quite ugly up there.

Ugh. Was going to stay up, think I'll just set my alarm to see Farage lose South Thanet and go to bed.
