willie-bell-in-rothley Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Over the last couple of seasons i watched Kasper Schmeichel in the warm up drilling the ball to the touch line week after week, when he get the chance to do it during the game quite often he will put well over the players head and we then have lost advantage, one of our main faults as a team is giving the ball away cheaply, surly it would be better in a lot of cases for him to throw the ball, His throwing seems a lot better than his kicking
Matt Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Been shit for the last season or two, I thoght it had improved at the start of this season but obviously not. As for his throwing did you miss him chucking it straight at a WBA player last week whilst Wes was in acres of space?
Buzzell Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 It's not just Kasper who's giving the ball away. Our passing overall as a team is an absolute joke. Clueless.
WardyisPukka Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Had time to catch the ball today but decided to punch it and create more unnecessary pressure! confidence looks low
StanSP Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Didn't he ping one straight out to Vardy at a point today? Pretty much pin-point.
LCFC Rennie Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Didn't he ping one straight out to Vardy at a point today? Pretty much pin-point. Once.
Soar Fox Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Didn't he ping one straight out to Vardy at a point today? Pretty much pin-point. Yes. Probably the best pass of the whole game.
StanSP Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Once. My point being that he is capable of it. No-one ever mentions the successful passes he makes though.
lgfualol Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Probably cus he has no ****ing clue what he's doing. "I'll kick it to UIloa, who cares if he has two equally tall defenders next to him lool :-)" Everyone is clueless. What the **** do they do in training every day?
Sampson Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 My point being that he is capable of it. No-one ever mentions the successful passes he makes though. You really think one out of about 20 is good enough? There were at least 6 which went straight out of play and several more which went straight to a Southampton player - including setting up their 2nd goal.

promised land Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 What the **** do they do in training every day? Probably not practice taking corners as they're always before the first man or over everyone's head. My one gripe is our corners, every game and every time it's short or too long.
AKCJ Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 I've not seen any better or any worse from any other Premier League goalkeeper. Fed up with people who just find things to moan about when things don't go our way.
Carl the Llama Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 I would imagine the distribution of Kasper Schmeichels is pretty sparse, it can't be a very common name.
Sampson Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 I've not seen any better or any worse from any other Premier League goalkeeper. Fed up with people who just find things to moan about when things don't go our way. Are you kidding me? I've seen many, many goalkeepers in the Premier League who have been better at distribution than Kasper. We've all seen Tim Flowers, Kasey Keller, Ian Walker etc. at this level and their distribution was not talked about as much. It's not like we're expecting him to hit his man every single time, just to at least play it into positions of 50/50 headers if he can't pick a pass, but he doesn't. He constantly kicks it straight out of play or to a completely unchallenged opposition player. It's not something that happens occasionally - every goalkeeper will miss the odd kick and fans will accept that, as they do with most Premier League goalkeepers, but he does it several times a game pretty much every game! Today he gave the ball straight back to the opposition unchallenged so, so many times and killed any kind of momentum or attack we might had so many times too. You can't excuse him just because he's a goalkeeper. If that was a central midfielder he'd be rightly slated, but keeping possession comes from all over the park in modern football. It's not finding things to moan about at all, it's a genuine problem and not only breaks up any forward momentum we may have but also allows the opposition to have their own chances, as we clearly saw with their 2nd goal today.
Callabinho Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 Kasper is bloody over hyped, just because his dad was good, to sum him up briefly, he doesn't command his area, he couldn't catch a cold let alone a cross, he is piss poor at positioning at set pieces and can't save anything on target from beyond 20 yards, apart from that he is a decent shot stopper from short range, say what you will but I really don't value him like most do.
Callabinho Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 That Kasper sig made your post funny. Haha, I like the GIF, I like him as a bloke, seems nice enough. Just think he is over hyped.

It speaks volumes of how far we've come as a team if you think that about Kasper. You're comparing him to the top quality keepers in the Prem and not to the subpar keepers we've had for the past ten years. You don't get voted club Player of the Year and make it into the PFA Team of the Year two years running not to mention cementing his place in the national team by only being a 'decent shot stopper from short range'...
Monsell1976 Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 I think people need to accept kasper for what he is, a great shot stopper, but the rest of his game is very limited. If he could add commanding his box, dealing with crosses, and better distribution to his amazing shot stopping ability, he wouldn't be at leicester, he would be at one of the top European clubs. He's just not as good as some think, but in goalkeeping terms he's still young, and may improve his short falls in time.
hesapeepingtom Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 He's not gonna make it,fair.championship keeper.
Stuliasz Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 Distributing the ball quickly is important if we want to play on the counter attack but it has to be done sensibly. It isn't productive when Schmeichel quickly aims for the lone man upfront as they are often left isolated against multiple defenders, with too much distance for any support to cover. The accurate kick to Vardy yesterday was a prime example of this. I'm all for the quick throw-outs but he has to play the percentages and take less risks. We're also not countering with any pace at the moment which makes any quick distribution from the keeper pointless.

What are you on about? If Kasper has the ball then we have no attacking momentum. Sometimes he gets a great ball out and sets attacks going, sometimes he doesn't he is the goalie his job is to clear his lines anyone expecting pin point accuracy from a goal kick is clueless. I would like to see us pass it out of defence more and start attacks from the back, because we have one person to try and hit, which is Ulloa who is a marked man these days, and he is surrounded by the opposition, or hit over the top and into the channels for Vardy, but that is a high risk attempt and will go out for a throw in sometimes. Really Kasper's distribution is not the problem and will create more chances for us this season, which we so desperately need.
SantiagoFox Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 Seems to be something to do with the modern coaching :- - Goalkeepers aiming kicks to the flanks instead of the middle of the pitch (so it goes out if you're not that accurate like Kasper). - All the players wandering across the pitch together at goal kicks like wilderbeest on the plains. - Not leaving anyone upfront when you have a corner meaning no chance of clearing the ball properly.
