Monsell1976 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Do people still think we pay his salary? It's not 1995 anymore. Gate receipts are a very minimal part of club income in this day and age. I can't believe people are trying to justify this on the basis that nurses and teachers get abuse from the public on a regular basis, do you think that's an acceptable way to behave? Understand what your saying, but football would be nothing without fans, and this is where football has got it wrong in recent years.Football grounds would be a dull place without supporters.
Babylon Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 What a disgrace. Any other person in the country would get most probably fired from their job for verbally abusing a paying customer yet Pearson is still in charge and untouched by his superiors. This is the beginning of the end for him. There are fans out there that pay to see Leicester win and there is nothing wrong with that, so when they aren't getting what they paid for they are well within there rights to moan about poor produce. Very poor Nigel, very poor. If someone was in your place of work verbally abusing you for just doing you job they would get chucked out the door without a seconds notice. This was started by that person and not Pearson, you'd do well to remember that. You don't pay to watch Leicester win, you pay to watch Leicester knowing very well that you could see your team lose. Especially when you are a newly promoted team. Just as you go to the cinema to watch a film knowing very well you might not actually like it once you've seen it. That doesn't give you the right to abuse the cinema manager, or the director and actors. If you did I'd imagine they would give you exactly the same response, sling your hook. Usual people coming out with their usual half baked clap trap that they have been since Pearson arrived.

Very poor Nigel, very poor. Horseshit. A paying customer hurling abuse fully deserves to get it back. Just because they have paid doesnt give them the right to throw abuse. People pay to watch a game of football in the hope of a good result. Case in point. I used to work for Next call centre in the home department. Obviously customer service is paramount and i dealt with a lot of irate customers as you can imagine. My bosses told me to be apologetic but if a customer starts to be abusive then i am allowed to say whatever i want and the bosses would back me all the way. Oh the amount of times i heard 'you cant say that' after calling them a willy puller . Pearson was well within his right to give it back and defend himself and the team. I applaud him in fact

I applaud him in fact I'm not defending the fan, Pearson have every right to defend himself against critics, but did he have to use foul language. He cannot take the moral high ground, if the language he uses is as bad.
davieG Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 I'd guess their wages are mostly paid by people sitting at home watching it on the TV

He cannot take the moral high ground, if the language he uses is as bad. I'm not sure he's trying to take any high ground. He just thinks that they are a c*unt and shouldn't bother if they can't handle going to an event with an unpredictable outcome. I agree with him. I'd guess their wages are mostly paid by people sitting at home watching it on the TV On BT sport that's about 10 people.

For me it makes no difference if it was the manager, player or ball boy. Nobody should have to take that in any walk of life. If anybody needs slating its the fan and not Pearson.

Carl the Llama Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 I think the fans have been extremely patient with both the team and manager, they haven't really turned on them yet despite some bloody awful performances and decisions by some players and the manager. You don't call the people who pay your wages a Cnut. You also don't tell them to stay at home, we need as. Any in the ground as possible and the manager should be professional enough to rise above it, he should know fans get emotional and passionate especially when they've just spent hard earned money watching us throw another game away. Can't believe that so many on here are excusing him, his reaction clearly isn't the norm as it's making the news. Pretty sure the owners, being in the business they are, appreciate the importance of good customer relations. He's not helping himself. When did he call Aiyawatt a cvnt?
Babylon Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 When did he call Aiyawatt a cvnt? Just before he nutted him and ripped up his P45.

Like I say don't have an issue with him defending himself, but being in the public eye, wether he thinks the bloke is a ****, he should refrain from using foul language.Babs, I don't like defending Pearson to much , but what he did was fine, the way he did wasn't. The moral high ground is the stance some people are defending his actions, nobody should be abused, but using the same language is no better.

Very poor Nigel, very poor. You're making it sound as if we have a divine right to be winning every game just because we paid good money for attending, football doesn't work like that of course! We always knew it was going to be tough of course, regardless of how convincingly we ended up winning the Championship last season. Granted, it is a surprise to find ourselves below the two teams we came up with and the other alsorans in this division, while on present form the team doesn't look as if it's good enough to turn this alarming slump around ever since the Burnley game two months ago now - but you never know. Given how they started off the season some would say that was 'beginner's luck' but we did actually play as a team, showed what we can be capable of on our day when the team formation and balance is correct and when having the confidence to go at teams. We fully deserved our good start and the praise that accompanied it from all. It's a shame the team has changed since then and lost it's way - and with it the manager at present - but no excuse for abusing him in the way that so called "fan" did last night!

Football grounds would be a dull place without supporters. Football would be nothing with fans - I agree. But football would also certainly be a better place if we could rid the ground of people who find it acceptable to throw abuse at a man who has lifted us from our lowest point in history in the Third Division to the Premier League.

Got to put into perspective though mate, it was 1 fan, we all moan when things don't go well, but abusing the bloke is a totally different thing.Just think a few on here having a go at anyone who has a moan or shows frustration at a match is unfair. I don't think anybody can say they have sat there recently and said after another silly goal let in, or a miss placed pass, and gone great stuff, and appauled it, we all groan, and get frustrated, just that bloke went well to far.

I've moaned and groaned at football, I've never sat there directly shouting and abusing one of our best managers, this isn't normal behaviour at all and it's injurious to even try and pretend it is. It's massively different from a fan showing a bit of displeasure. This doesn't seem an isolated case either - from a few posts and reading on Twitter numerous people have said this isn't the first, second or even third time this bloke has gone 'too far' - he's seems to consistently behave in this way. The club should refund his season ticket and tell him he isn't wanted.
Corky Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Last night was our fourth defeat in our last 30 home league games. Spurs have lost that already this season and I bet their fans aren't calling Pochettino a willy puller. I don't particularly want managers getting into spats with fans but sometimes pashun spills over in the heat of the moment. The fan has a choice to slag people off but don't complain if the manager tries to defend himself or his players.
Babylon Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Last night was our fourth defeat in our last 30 home league games. Ha amazing. Bloody Pearson serving up regular non losing football.
tommyh Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Really annoys me this type of thing does! Me and my 7 year old son dont have season tickets because we cant make every other week and when we do try and get tickets to a game we have no chance because there are none going into general sale etc, we would love to go and support our team and our heros more but alot of seats are taken by people who moan and criticize the team / big nige! Dont bother going if you arent going to support them and hopefully that may give myself and son more chance of getting tickets, two people who love going and supporting / cheering our team! Does my head in
Corky Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 They are discussing it at 4pm on TalkSport, hope someone rings in and explains that this was a row with one fan in particular and not a complete criticism of our support. No doubt they'll trot out the usual "fan can say what he wants, pays his money etc" but fans began to turn on Pearson after Newcastle so this isn't out of the blue.
Babylon Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 What did the guy say to Pearson? "Oi Nigel, my trainers are whiter than yours." Turn it off and don't even listen, that lot (with the exception of a few) are bigger WUMs than Stringer.

Adrian Durham @talkSPORTDrive @WardyizPukka a manager tells fans to stay at home and you think it's the media's fault. Ridiculous Dan Ward @WardyizPukka 8m8 minutes ago @talkSPORTDrive one fan adrian! ONE fan! we played well in parts last night if fans can't see that then they're pathetic - we arent PL class
