Steven Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Leicester boss Nigel Pearson says fans can 'stay at home' http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30304343 All I can say is that many of the fans were fans before Pearson and will be after he has left. Then come up with cliches about kitchens and heat, only the weak feel pressure, etc. Leicester boss Nigel Pearson says fans can 'stay at home' Nigel Pearson said Leicester fans can "stay at home" if they cannot recognise the efforts of the team and admitted to an altercation with a supporter during the 3-1 loss at home to Liverpool. The defeat left the Foxes at the bottom of the table, having now lost seven of their last nine league games. "I had a spat with a fan towards the end," Pearson, 51, said. "If they cannot see the players are having a proper go maybe they need to stay at home." Pearson, who led Leicester to the Championship title last season, added his players were giving their all. "I will always look for the positives," he said. "It is very easy for people to look at what we are not good at. "I don't like the commitment of my players being questioned. If they honestly think they are not committed, they are very wrong. Maybe that is why I stay in the stand." Floundering Foxes The Foxes have won just two of their last 20 Premier League home matches Their sole home victory this season is their 5-3 triumph over Manchester United in September Leonardo Ulloa scored five goals in his first five league appearances, but has failed to score in the nine games since in the competition They have managed just two points from their last nine games Leicester took the lead when Leonardo Ulloa's shot hit the woodwork then went in off the head of Reds keeper Simon Mignolet. But Liverpool hit back through goals from Adam Lallana, Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson. The home side's cause was not helped when defender Wes Morgan was sent off with the score at 2-1. "We can ill afford to play any game with anything less than 11 v 11. Their third goal knocked the stuffing out of us," Pearson added. "We have quality and commitment. We can't get downbeaten by tonight's result. We have to break the cycle we are in at the moment."
Captain... Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 "The Foxes have won just two of their last 20 Premier League home matches" What the fvck has that got to do with the price of fish? Another piss poor attempt at journalism.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 That article is an anagram of stit shirring.
lgfualol Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Don't blame him for saying it. The fans abusing him wanted that reaction and were surprised his retaliated.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 If someone came to your work and boo'd and shouted at you for weeks on end when you're having a tough time of it, you'd snap very quickly. Don't give it out if you can't take it back.
Guest MattP Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 He's spot on. A lot of us knew we'd get this poisoness element down here this season, comes with the PL territory. It certainly doesn't feel like last season where everyone was pulling in the same direction.
Callabinho Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 He's not wrong, all these "fans" jumped on the band wagon when we started winning, and then have the cheek to to complain when things aren't going well, because they're paying customers. How many of them stayed loyal when soppy bollocks Holloway sent us down to league one? Nut the arsehole next time Nige.
RedSoxUK Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 "Nigel Pearson says fans can 'stay at home'" ~ Ian Stringer Can we as fans please look beyond this pathetic attempt at boohoo'ing Pearson's comments and change the quote to it's actual content / meaning "Nigel Peason tells fan he can 'stay at home' - if he's going to be a foul mouthed ****" ~ Everyone that looks beyond the bullshit headline.
C-man Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 If someone came to your work and boo'd and shouted at you for weeks on end when you're having a tough time of it, you'd snap very quickly. Don't give it out if you can't take it back. But, but, but, he gets paid so much money?! Plenty of my clients earn more than NP and I'm sure if one of their shareholders stood at their desk abusing them I'm fairly sure there'd be a bigger reaction than what NP gave. Some of our fans are the ficklest clowns around and sadly need telling.
blueoveru Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 what sh8t stirring.........look at the statistics and we are a championship side up against premiership footballers and although some are not miles better , our record so far is dismal, the fans reaction is from waiting 10 years to get back and seeing us going down as quickly as we went up. We have to face facts we are not good or even competitive enough in this League, the evidence is there for all to see....last night we played an extremely average Liverpool side and did not compete very well, there is very little energy very little skill........ and endeavour will only go so far, we capitulated in midfield to one of the poorest partnerships Liverpool has had in years our defence was sloopy as it was against QPR, so all we are left with is scraps that wont amount to pi$$ing in the wind
hackneyfox Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 I think the fans have been extremely patient with both the team and manager, they haven't really turned on them yet despite some bloody awful performances and decisions by some players and the manager. You don't call the people who pay your wages a Cnut. You also don't tell them to stay at home, we need as. Any in the ground as possible and the manager should be professional enough to rise above it, he should know fans get emotional and passionate especially when they've just spent hard earned money watching us throw another game away. Can't believe that so many on here are excusing him, his reaction clearly isn't the norm as it's making the news. Pretty sure the owners, being in the business they are, appreciate the importance of good customer relations. He's not helping himself.
inckley fox Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 If someone came to your work and boo'd and shouted at you for weeks on end when you're having a tough time of it, you'd snap very quickly. Don't give it out if you can't take it back. Apply that to teachers, policemen, plenty of shopkeepers, hospital staff, social workers. If any of these far less well-paid individuals, who routinely deal with abuse, snapped as easily as Pearson then pretty much every last one of them would have been fired by now. He did it because he suspects he can get away with it and because he wants his players to see he's going out on a limb for them. If it works, then it was a master-stroke. Or, alternatively, you could take the Daily Mail view and conclude he's just 'cracking up'. But don't try to justify this. It's getting such wide coverage because it's an unusual thing in his profession, especially when you're bottom of the table. And don't try to justify it on the grounds of a comparison with other professions, because regardless of the provocation, he'd be fired in most other lines of work.
Fox92 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 We pay the money which is essential their wages. Regardless of whether I agree with it or not, people who pay (and following this sport is expensive) are entitled to show how they feel. People in everday work, people who earn far far less, get abuse at them. Teachers, paramedics, police officers...

We weren't in the Premier then. If Pearson can't take the pressure and abusers those who pay his salary what is he like if someone who works for him questions him?
Monsell1976 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Really pissed me off with his arrogants again, but then thought about it. I'm really fed up losing every week, puts me in a mood, and I'm not under the pressure he's under. And I thought about it, stringer asked question that probaly should have waited, I.e the argument with the crowd, but was trying to push his buttons. I watched the bt interview and he said similar things but presented himself in a less arrogant way. I would like to think Pearson has regretted the things he said in the interview with stringer, and I hope he feels disappointed that he's let stringer get under his skin, because he did sound a cock. What he said about he cannot understand the fans concerns, is just arrogant and naive with the run, if he really thinks like that, but like I say, I think he fell for stringers provoking.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Pearson's bum lickers would defend him, even if he committed murder. He should realise that his salary is ultimately paid for by the fans. Get real Pearson ffs.

He should bite his lip in his position, but I'm trying to kind to him, he's under serious pressure now, and it's starting to show.He is human and reacted, when in his position, should just walk away, bad enough young supporters hear abuse from fans, but when one of their idols throws of volley of foul language, makes them both as bad as each other. Like I posted, I hope in the cold light of day, I hope he's not that arrogant, he has no regrets about his behaviour, or comments
Guest MattP Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Do people still think we pay his salary? It's not 1995 anymore. Gate receipts are a very minimal part of club income in this day and age. I can't believe people are trying to justify this on the basis that nurses and teachers get abuse from the public on a regular basis, do you think that's an acceptable way to behave?
Babylon Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 You also don't tell them to stay at home, we need as. Any in the ground as possible We really don't need abusive people at the ground. Buying a ticket doesn't give you the right to abuse anyone. Can't believe that so many on here are excusing him, his reaction clearly isn't the norm as it's making the news. He has the right to reply to any plonker abusing him. Is he wandering around having a go at any fan having a grumble? Has he had a go at you? I've managed to escape the ground without being told to sod off by the manager so have 99.9999999% of the people who go there. That's because most of us have the good manners to not act like a little child and think that you have a right to say what you want to whoever you want. You don't, simple as that. Pretty sure the owners, being in the business they are, appreciate the importance of good customer relations. He's not helping himself. Yep I'm sure their shops would stand for having their staff abused errrr not. You have heard about their shops and their security guards haven't you?
James. Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 All this "we pay his wages" stuff is a bollocks argument. Your season ticket contributes f**k all in the grand scheme of things. A few hundred quid and you think you have the right to behave like an absolute **** to the guy who turned the club around and got us to the PL. That guy should stay at home and keep that poisonous mentality away from the club. It'll make f**k all difference to our finances and might just make the stadium a little but more of a positive place to be.
Babylon Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 He should realise that his salary is ultimately paid for by the fans. Yep... and as these boards show most of those fans think he's absolutely right to give it back if someone is dishing it out. So Nigel, you have my permission to spend 3 minutes abusing anyone you like with my £400. When it's Dangerous Tigers money, just role your eyes and scratch your arse or something. All this "we pay his wages" stuff is a bollocks argument. Your season ticket contributes f**k all in the grand scheme of things. A few hundred quid and you think you have the right to behave like an absolute **** to the guy who turned the club around and got us to the PL. That guy should stay at home and keep that poisonous mentality away from the club. Arriba Los Zorros Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 I think the whole point here is that negativity does not help anyone (unless you are in St James Park) and the guy is a knob for not getting behind the team - we should not be making the players nervous and inhibited at the KP. For this alone I support Pearson in his reaction. He can take criticism but not when it affects the team's performance.
MHC Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 What a disgrace. Any other person in the country would get most probably fired from their job for verbally abusing a paying customer yet Pearson is still in charge and untouched by his superiors. This is the beginning of the end for him. There are fans out there that pay to see Leicester win and there is nothing wrong with that, so when they aren't getting what they paid for they are well within there rights to moan about poor produce. Very poor Nigel, very poor.
