veezeeblue Posted 5 December 2014 Posted 5 December 2014 Policemen? Next time you see a policeman patrolling the High Street walk up to him ... or her (i'm so PC)... and loudly shout " fvckin twat" in their face. Then tell them they should "rise above it." as they bundle you into the back of the van. The reason why most people are behind Pearson on this is cos he shouldn't have to put up with that kind of abuse in the first place. Being part of a football crowd is not an excuse to stop being a decent human being. If Pearson had yanked that bloke out of the crowd and slapped him about a bit I'd still think Pearson's response was reasonable. I thought Cantona was right when he kung fu kicked that Palace nob all them years ago, so I certainly have no problem with Pearson standing up for himself in the face of personal abuse. Cantona for NP Head of Security !!!!
Monsell1976 Posted 5 December 2014 Posted 5 December 2014 Yeah, hopefully the fan will write in and apologise to Big Nige.Keep saying it both in the wrong, calling someone a twat is abusive, but isn't as vile as telling someone to **** of and die. Those who think Pearson is justified in taking insults that far, need to check their own morals. Lose his rag with the fan, call him a twat, ****, whatever, but there is a line and he crossed it
veezeeblue Posted 5 December 2014 Posted 5 December 2014 Yeah, hopefully the fan will write in and apologise to Big Nige. write ? maybe a thumbprint wil have to do
veezeeblue Posted 5 December 2014 Posted 5 December 2014 yes, two negatives don't make a positive. -1 x -1 = 1
EnderbyFox Posted 5 December 2014 Posted 5 December 2014 @StringerSport 42s42 seconds ago 'There certainly won't be an apology'- Nigel Pearson #LCFC @John__Percy 25s25 seconds ago Nigel Pearson unrepentant over spat with #lcfc fan: "I regret it but there is certainly no need to apologise to someone of that ilk." Good on you Nigel.
Harry - LCFC Posted 5 December 2014 Posted 5 December 2014 He has it spot on. The bloke doesn't deserve an apology. The only reason to apologise would be as a demonstration of professionalism to those who think it's important. But that would be dishonest given his view of the situation.
tylesta Posted 5 December 2014 Posted 5 December 2014 All the abuse Alan Pardew received over the month or so from Newcastle fans, didn't see him retaliate once and he was subject to much more than twat, he just got on with his job and was as professional as can be under the circumstances. I'm not agreeing with the fan but nigel is a football manager and people look up to him children etc, he should of kept quiet.

Robin JD Popley Posted 5 December 2014 Posted 5 December 2014 I know I'm in the minority but I think Monsell1976 has hit the nail on the head with what they said. The fan in question was completely out of line but the terminology Nigel used in response was equally as bad - if not worse. I wouldn't even say something like that to my worst enemy so, yeah, I've lost a little bit of respect for him if he thinks that is an acceptable phrase to respond with. I agree with his sentiments about the lad's general efforts in recent weeks but he could and should have handled it so much better.
Harry - LCFC Posted 5 December 2014 Posted 5 December 2014 "I don't think they (the fans) are frustrated with how they're playing, I think they're frustrated with the results." I don't think he's too far off with that statement too. Nice to know that he (rightly) believe the fans are behind the team still and that he doesn't feel Ginetta and twatman represent the crowd. EDIT: I should say by 'frustrated' he meant 'angry', much like twatman was.

Pearson stating he will accept criticism but fans who dish it out must accept they will get a taste of their own medicine.

So let me get this straight, you're saying that Pardew, who has headbutted a fellow professional and has made light of rape on tv holds the moral high ground over Pearson, because Pearson had the audacity to tell some abusive twat to **** off? Jesus.
LcFc_Smiv Posted 5 December 2014 Posted 5 December 2014 Holy sh*t, anyone hear that aimed at Stringer, brilliant, pure brilliance! Stringer: With the incident that happened on Tuesday, are you going to change how you manage yourself on the sidelines. Pearson: People in glass houses, I think you can answer that one yourself. Not word for word but that was the response!
Babylon Posted 5 December 2014 Posted 5 December 2014 Not sure Pardew is the best example!! A manager who actually does headbutt players
filbertway Posted 5 December 2014 Posted 5 December 2014 Always makes me laugh when people say Pardew headbutted Meyler. It wasn't professional but that wasn't a headbutt.

I'm not agreeing with the fan but nigel is a football manager and people look up to him children etc, he should of kept quiet. Yeah you're right, never seen Pardew react to anything in the past.... ControversiesSo far in his career, Pardew has been involved in several controversial issues and events. In 2003, the BBC described him as being a "dangerous and distant animal" in the media, referring to his lack of public relations abilities, which has led him to making several rash comments.[51] When at West Ham, the club employed a media advisor for Pardew to help him win over sceptical fans.[1] The following is a list of controversies Pardew has been involved in: In September 2003, Pardew resigned from Reading after being refused permission to become manager at West Ham. Reading's chairman John Madejski attempted to create an injunction in the High Court to prevent him from moving to West Ham. Eventually Reading's legal action was dropped, and Pardew joined West Ham after a period of gardening leave.[6] In March 2006, Pardew had a dispute with Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger, after he criticised Arsenal for failing to field an English player in their UEFA Champions League win against Real Madrid.[52] Wenger suggested that Pardew was being xenophobic,[53] a claim Pardew denied, citing his marriage to a Swedish woman.[54] In November 2006, Pardew had another dispute with Wenger after celebrating West Ham's win over Arsenal.[55] Wenger claimed he was provoked into pushing Pardew after Pardew's celebrations at West Ham's late win.[56] Wenger was later fined by the Football Association,[57] whilst Pardew was cleared of the charges in January 2007.[58] In February 2007, shortly before Pardew's new club Charlton faced West Ham, The Sun published a report documenting a video of one of Pardew's media training sessions he took whilst manager at West Ham. In the video, Pardew jokingly made several disparaging comments about West Ham's fans.[59] In October 2007, Pardew intervened on the pitch in a match against Hull City to try to break up a confrontation between Charlton and Hull players after Lloyd Sam and Ian Ashbee were sent-off. Pardew denied he made the situation worse by intervening.[60] In March 2009, on Match of the Day 2, Pardew stated that Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien "absolutely rapes" Man City player Ched Evans during a midfield tussle for the ball, in the sense that he bested him physically.[61] The BBC said there would be no on-air apology, despite 35 viewer complaints, insisting it had been misheard as "rakes".[62] On the opening day of the 2012–13 Premier League season against Tottenham Hotspur, Pardew pushed an official after an incident where the ball appeared to go over the touchline, but the referee deemed it to still be in play. Pardew later apologised, citing his behaviour as "ridiculous".[63] In January 2014, during the Premier League match against Manchester City Pardew verbally abused opposition manager Manuel Pellegrini. Pellegrini initially confronted Pardew on the touchline and accused Pardew of frivolously contesting every decision by the referee and was trying to dishonestly deceive the officials even when it was an obvious decision in Manchester City's favour. After the initial skirmish Pardew was caught on Sky Sports television cameras calling Pellegrini "a ****ing old ****". Pardew later apologised only after being confronted by journalists about his abusive language.[64] Pellegrini shrugged off the incident but said he disagreed with Pardew's approach to contesting every decision by the referee.[65] In March 2014, Pardew was sent to the stands after headbutting Hull City player David Meyler. The ball went into touch near Pardew and Meyler pushed past him to quickly resume play, at which point Pardew headbutted Meyler. Although Pardew apologised for his actions, he was fined £100,000 by Newcastle United and given a formal warning.[66][67] On 11 March, the FA handed Pardew a three-game stadium ban with a touchline ban for a further four games. He was also fined £60,000 by the FA, in addition to the £100,000 fine from Newcastle United.[68] A true professional.

tylesta Posted 5 December 2014 Posted 5 December 2014 Not sure Pardew is the best example!! was on about this season, when fans are against him he was really professional about all the fans abusing him, he couldn't even go the town centre! he just got on with it and never retaliated to them.

Because of course, having paid our money we can shout what we want at people.
