An open letter to Russell Brand....

That got me thinking....who talks most shit, brand or milliband? Tough call. I'll go brand.

Can you imagine the horrors that would be a Millibrand?

Posted

Like having a heart attack when being assessed or lying in hospital with cancer?

Perhaps they should employ medically trained doctors to do the examinations?

Would you agree that this would be a fair way of doing things?

This is the sort of thing Russell Brand is trying to bring to the public's notice and he is being told he is wrong for doing it.

If he doesn't who will?

If he doesn't who will? I don't ken how about the daily mirror?

That's a poor article. People don't care about things like that because it's so obviously a load of rubbish. Two anonymous sources? Yeah very believable. Eleven months since the article was published and presumably they still can't put names to these stories, much less provide any evidence that these events actually happened. Crap journalism, obvious intentions, you seriously wonder why nobody cares?

Well you don't care so obviously it means noone else does. Maybe they did not want their names spread across the front page so more letters and sanctions come their way. I happen to think the Daily Fail blaming low paid workers for everything is bad journalism.

Can you give us an example of that?

They do not say it outright but they are the voice of Cameron and report on people drawing thousands of pounds of benefits which it;s readers believe.

'Oh yeah I know a bloke like that ten kids none of them work down pub every night. Disgusting aint it'

My point was just because the story comes from another source does not mean there is not an element of truth in it. That sort of thing is happening on a daily basis and it won't go away by ignoring or dismissing it as lies because it does not fit your views.

Well the article has been there in the mainstream media for nearly a year and it doesn't appear to have gained any traction. What conclusion do you draw from that other than that people are either unconvinced or uninterested?

Are you saying there's an element of truth in the Mail's stories?

Even if it was true and factually correct, with the amount of people put through these tests, it's hardly a concerning amount of errors. Brand is not raising these issues because of any caring traits, it's shameless sell promotion and egotistical drivel. He would jump on any namby pamby bandwagon rolling, so long as he can front it.

I think anyone with half a brain can see it's probably made up.

The Mirror is more Labour than any paper could ever be Tory, they were even the only national to openly back Gordon Brown still.

They have a vendetta against conservatives and have been telling lies about them for years.

I think the Mail runs it pretty close, but you're right - they're both rags.

The sun and the mail are dreadful papers, I've never really read the mirror or the star and I'd imagine they're the same.

Its very difficult to even label the sun, mirror and the star as newspapers

The mail is as bad, why do people even like reading the celebrity scandal shit everyweek?

If you just look at the pictures in the Mail, that's it's one redeeming feature - good photography.

It infuriates me that Brand gets airtime. He's like a 17 year old who's just discovering politics and who doesn't quite understand things as well as he thinks he does.

Obviously actual 17 year olds will naively assume that, because he uses elaborate English, he obviously knows what he's talking about.

If you're planning on being as mouthy as he is, you have to be sure that you know what you're talking about.

The Guardian's obsession with the man continues. Some of the comments at the bottom are simply nauseating! This in particular made me actually 'urgh' out loud, before having to close the page lol

Who cares what he looks like, or his accent? But since you commented on it, I think you're just a bit jealous that you aren't such a caring, intelligent, witty, charismatic and sexy person.

I particularly like the shots of the 'real people' they interview doing the classic Daily Mail sad face.

And another click from you on the Guardian website. Kerching!

Haha I do actually use their website anyway, they have an excellent sport and environment section. I know what to expect when I go on there, just as you know what to expect if you read the Daily Mail. I'm just finding their woshipping of Brand a little tiresome now. They must be short on other saviours to grab hold of at the moment

I particularly enjoyed the pictures of Paul Weller's children and Evan Rachel Wood's pregnancy ultrasound scan.

And people say they publish things that aren't in the public interest!  It's political correctness gone mad, is what it is
