foxes_rule1978 Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 That's a bit harsh. Ecclestone built the f1 brand. He needs to step down, he built the brand and did a great job but it is clear the sport needs a refresh and he should make way for someone else to take his place. The sport is on a decline and has become very boring recently...

The sport is on a decline and has become very boring recently...This word boring, comes and goes around every few years in F1.Schumacher, Vettel eras, where often only 1 result was nailed on.Now Hamilton and Roseburg are hogging the limelight. Too many rules and regulations, too many silly non dangerous penalties on teams and individual drivers. We got into this, because too many believed regulations would open up the field, and give every team a fair crack.Thats been proved also to be dis organised, and frustrating.Natural Technical evolvement has just been too fast for the organisers and regulaters to keep up with, no different to the normal world really.Alot of common sense relevant to the sport is being lost, because, they reckon swap and changes qualify their jobs. My opinion, is to have a closed season, get all parties together, listen to All drivers concerns (shame Schumacher cant give feedback), the drivers who are just pilots, the drivers who are technically involed, retired drivers should be encouraged to put in their suggestions. Ecclestone has done a magnificant job, but there never seemed to be anyone else , not 1-4 people who could take up the reins, with such vigour.Teams are too selfcentered, too involved looking at what other teams are doing and what rules are being broken or not adhered to. Maybe start to diregulate the regulations, get back to the racing. F1 is just in that situation, unlike other sports where 10s millions of dollars are needed, for each team just to survive, plus the fans have to fork out 1000s to follow the sport. The maintenance of the venues again is in the 10s millions. F1 is in a situation where it could die a long death, or survive with only 6-10 teams, with over the top sponsorship. Then again, F1 has been through the whinger before, so long enough rich types are around, I suppose it will survive.

VinceNoir Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 These first 4 laps have been better than the rest of the season combined. Hope Springhead and bottas keep it up!

foxfanazer Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 Hamilton does make mistakes when chasing. Should be interesting now if Massa and Bottas hold out a while
isaidno Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 What was Hamilton doing, you can't overtake until you cross the line
VinceNoir Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 Team orders in F1.... well i never! Yawn! I kind of get this particular one though. Surely the Mercedes would find it easier to get past them if Bottas and Massa were battling each other
foxfanazer Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 I kind of get this particular one though. Surely the Mercedes would find it easier to get past them if Bottas and Massa were battling each otherYeah true but sure Bottas should be let through then? I'm no expert on F1 btw
isaidno Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 Let Bottas through and let Massa do the Jarno Trulli role
VinceNoir Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 Yeah true but sure Bottas should be let through then? I'm no expert on F1 btw Yeah, he should Me neither. I'm basically just paraphrasing what the commentators on my feed are saying
Jimothy Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 Surely if Bottas has more pace they're ruining their chances of winning because Massa is keeping them closer to the Mercs. Let Bottas through and at least win the race, even if you don't get a 1-2.

Jimothy Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 And now Hamilton has managed to jump ahead of Massa and will probably get Bottas when he stops. All because Massa held Bottas back. And Hamilton did get Bottas.
Strokes Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 Hamilton must be loving rosberg getting caught behind the Williams.
Jimothy Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 Hamilton might come first, but he's not won it, Williams have lost it. So poor from them. And now they're letting them race
foxfanazer Posted 5 July 2015 Posted 5 July 2015 Would teams rather guarantee a first place and risk the other driver finishing fourth say or try for a 1, 2 finish and risk both for podium finishes If that makes sense
iamafox Posted 5 July 2015 Author Posted 5 July 2015 Williams are doing Hamilton a massive favour in keeping Rosberg at bay.
