Super_horns Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 What happened there.. Hamilton got away with that.. Red Bull were strong all weekend and nice to see Mclaren get decent points. Strokes Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 fair enough he does think he's a gangsta and if that bothers you fine. But he's not arrogant or a cry baby, and that's what I'm defending him on Arrogance and confidence is mostly down to interpretation. If you like someone, it's confidence if you don't, it's arrogance
The Horse's Mouth Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Is it true Maldonado only gets a drive cos of all the £££ he brings to the team through his sponsorship deals? He is a jackass driver basically, he brought something like 45mill to Williams in his brief stint here. He's an absolute godsend for teams like Lotus and Saubers of the like who are struggling financially, he's not that bad anyway he's shown before he's got strokes of genius

He's an absolute godsend for teams like Lotus and Saubers of the like who are struggling financially, he's not that bad anyway he's shown before he's got strokes of genius Agree with this. In fairness he's won a Spanish GP a few years ago albeit in the crazy start to that particular season when something like 6 different winners from 6 different teams won the first 6 races.
Asha Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Oh he's quick, there's no doubt about that. He has ability. He's just fucking braindead when it comes to close-wheel racing. Who wasn't surprised when a moment between him and Pérez ended up in a collision!?
iamafox Posted 26 July 2015 Author Posted 26 July 2015 It's easy to forget that Maldonado won the GP2 title in 2010, but even back then he was reckless. It is such a sad sight when you have drivers unjustifiably buying their way into F1 at the expense of drivers who have pure talent. He should try his hand at IndyCar next year and see how he fares on oval tracks.
isaidno Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Best race in a long while. Surprised the Mercedes didn't w soft tyres on in last stint because they would have lasted 20 laps.
StanSP Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 I'm struggling to think of any 'stroke of genius' that Maldonado has performed. Maybe I just have a short memory...

Brainy Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 Maldonado made 3 mistakes today which is only one more than Hamilton. He's also won one more race than highly rated drivers such as Hulkenberg have even came close to winning. Oh no, he nearly won at Brazil in 2012 until he bottled it and slid into Hamilton. He hasn't ****ed up much at all this season, he was caught up in other peoples accidents the first few races. He's just one of them drivers that get blamed (by fans who probably couldn't even name every driver on the grid) every time they are caught up in a crash, like the utter planks that blamed him for being hit from behind by Button at China this year. Oh and Hamilton, Q: Do you take the blame for the race then? A: Yes Arrogant ****. I guess you'll always have haters when you're the best driver on the grid
Asha Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Jenson Button & his wife have been gassed and robbed while staying in their holiday home. http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/jenson-button-wife-jessica-devastated-6209282?ICID=FB_mirror_main Jesus...
bovril Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 I feel for the guy but I'm a bit sceptical about these gassing claims. There have been stories about this for years but nobody has ever appeared in court charged with a 'gas robbery' and I'm sure a couple of authorities on the subject have come out in recent years casting doubt on the feasibility of it, not to mention the high cost of such a gas to a common thief.
iamafox Posted 11 August 2015 Author Posted 11 August 2015 Former F1 world champion Jacques Villeneuve will race in Formula E for the 2015-16 season.
iamafox Posted 11 August 2015 Author Posted 11 August 2015 he's like 50 isn't he ? Doesn't matter how old he is as long as he still has the desire to continue racing.
stix Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Doesn't matter how old he is as long as he still has the desire to continue racing. Let's stick Stirling Moss in the fůcker then? Bet he has the desire still! Having the desire and having the ability are two different things.
ramboacdc Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Let's stick Stirling Moss in the fůcker then? Bet he has the desire still! Having the desire and having the ability are two different things. forumula E is barely racing!
stix Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 forumula E is barely racing! yeah I know! Mossy would still probably smash it.
Asha Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 he's like 50 isn't he ? Only 44... it's not that old really. Even back in the day you'd see like Denny Hulme racing competitively way into his 50s. I think he even died whilst racing in Australia in his mid-50's.

Asha Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 yeah I know, just a weird fit really. As Formula E seems like failed F1 youngsters trying to get back on map A little bit. I'm not sure it's a great career move for younger drivers, as I don't think Piquet Jr's stock has massively risen even from having won the first championship. Is Jarno Trulli still knocking around at the back of the grid?
Asha Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 For the record I can't think of many drivers who deserved a F1 championship less than Jacques Villeneuve. Immediately brought into what was by far and away the best car, lost in the first year to Damon Hill (who was equally pretty average) and then only just edged out Schumacher in the inferior Ferrari. Ok, so the Williams dropped off a bit but you never saw him even in contention for a win following that '97 season. I don't think you can confidently say he's any better than a Coulthard, Barrichello or Massa who haven't won it.
iamafox Posted 12 August 2015 Author Posted 12 August 2015 Gabriele Tarquini is 53 and he's still an active driver, competing in the WTCC. There was a series called 'Grand Prix Masters' about 10 years ago and the grid consisted of retired F1 drivers like Mansell, Fittipaldi and Patrese. But after 2 seasons they went bankrupt.
iamafox Posted 12 August 2015 Author Posted 12 August 2015 Let's stick Stirling Moss in the fůcker then? Bet he has the desire still! Having the desire and having the ability are two different things. You can't compare Moss to Villeneuve because they drove very different cars.
