For the record I can't think of many drivers who deserved a F1 championship less than Jacques Villeneuve. Immediately brought into what was by far and away the best car, lost in the first year to Damon Hill (who was equally pretty average) and then only just edged out Schumacher in the inferior Ferrari. Ok, so the Williams dropped off a bit but you never saw him even in contention for a win following that '97 season.

I don't think you can confidently say he's any better than a Coulthard, Barrichello or Massa who haven't won it.

Agreed. I usually judge drivers by how they do in an average car , and Villeneuve was crap at Bar and Sauber

You can't compare Moss to Villeneuve because they drove very different cars.

I wasn't comparing them. You said age didn't matter...

A little bit. I'm not sure it's a great career move for younger drivers, as I don't think Piquet Jr's stock has massively risen even from having won the first championship.

Is Jarno Trulli still knocking around at the back of the grid?

I think with the increasing buzz around it, I definitely think we'll see a few springboard back into F1 on it. Piquet Jr might have, if he didn't have the baggage.

Fair point, Singapore 2008 took away his credibility. Still, if Buemi or di Grassi had won I still don't think they would be particularly sought after. I agree though, if it continues to gain popularity it could be a more attractive option.

I really do hope Kimi will win a race before he hangs it up.

Kimis never really bothered me, I wouldn't really care if he didn't, it's just how part of his job is cooperating with the media and he can never be arsed, really annoys me

Amazes me that people watch it at the mo. Awfully boring and with so much money involved. People need to turn off else it's gonna continue.

The people who say its boring are the kind of "fans" who probably only have knowledge about the front of the field and can't appreciate a 4 way battle for 10th place. That race started off well and ended well with a bit of a lull in the middle. Truth is most people probably found Hungary exciting simply because somebody different won, not because there was good racing and a lot of incidents. If Hamilton and Rosberg had finished that race 1-2 the same people would label it as boring.

Walkers-stop thinking you know it all about F1 and the rest only know of Hamilton vettel etc.You sound like a 12 year old kid!!It was boring and tedious.Fact

Says the guy who wrote fact on the end of his opinion lol

Just to stop you coming back with any other boring drivel which it succeeded in doing.

I'm a Hamilton fan and find it boring... Hamilton and some of the other drivers have also said that things are boring at the moment, Hamilton has been vocal about wanting the other teams to be far more competitive as well.

Walkers. You've been told now by numerous posters it was boring.Don't keep defending the indefensible.

I'm not sure you can call Hill average, he was a dodgy clutch on the last lap away from winning in a chuffing arrows!

Ferrari took the risk and ****ed Up.

Always someone Else to blame though in true sportsman style!

Former British F1 driver Justin Wilson is in a coma after an incident in the Indy Car yesterday.

He was driving past another car that had just crashed and it looks like a piece of debris smashed him on the head. Very worrying.
