Lauda won in 77. Hunt won 3 races in 77, had a dismal 1978. Then raced for Wolf before retiring

Did he retired because he had enough?

Lewis kept his baseball cap on during Justin Wilson's minute's silence at the Italian GP. What a disrespectful ****.

I also read he was the only driver to pay a personal tribute to him on Twitter before the race. What a bunch of ***** the rest of the drivers are

What I also don't like is that he's the most talked about driver, ever since last year the British media have been fawning over his success and they will continue to do so. They treat him like he's the best and most important driver and it really irritates me.

As far as the BRITISH media goes he IS the best and most important driver though. He's the reigning world champion, he's smashing it again this season, and he's British, what the hell do you expect??

I want to hear exclusive interviews from Marcus Ericsson every weekend.

Hes world champion, plus the top British F1 driver, so carry on being irritated. Its how sports journalism works..!!!

God knows what you would think, if you lived in Germany, When Schumacher, or Vettel were strutting their stuff.

Others hate it and shout loud, when the British press discredit, and write trash over other Britishvteams or sportsman.

So tell us fella, which side does your toast land when falling on the floor

Like Schumacher, Vettel, Hill, Mansell, Prost, the departed Senna, before him, Hamilton,

speaks, codswallop, nice, intelligently, spitefull, sporting, like a bum, like a gent, according to his mood of the moment.

BUT... B UT!!!!!! , like all of them, he gets paid to drive in F1, if none of them are child abusers, thats how I will rate them, because, we the fans have no other right to judge anybody just on interviews,2 mins or 1hr of chat cant be enough for character assasination.

I got to know, some city players, and Rugby players, in the -70s, at events, at clubs, spent some great evenings, and shared physio benches with some, but wouldnt take the right to say, I could judge them, or have the cheek to say what they are like as people.

I've seen 2 famous city goalkeepers, in seperate periods,..tell kids to buggaroff, and leave them alone, then coincidently also when in private family atmosphere, sitting on the fountain, or river wall at Abbey park, give their autographs willingly and taking time to talk, to the idolising families and young kids, once on a sunny weekday, a couple of times on Sunday afternoon.Plus after they said they have to go, the fans, didnt badger any further.

Some fans just like points scoring, over celebraties, on a short interview, or a coincidental crossing of ways in a pub or Cafe.

lol you'd say that if they qualified last!

Overtaking isn't great here. Unless they can get a great start, or jump ahead in the stops it'll probably just be a processional race with the pole sitter winning.

Think the Mercedes will come out on top still?

Think they will get beat. Not been on the pace this weekend. They'll probably fall behind the Williams at the start too. They've not been getting away well.

I can't believe the situation Mercedes have found themselves in. Going off the race simulations on Friday, it looks like a close fight between the two drivers on the front row. I want a Ferrari 1-2, but I have to admit that Ricciardo jumping Vettel at the start would set up a great race. Even better if Kimi jumps both of them! Probably more chance of him being last at the first corner going off his starts since the rule change though. As for Mercedes, it will hopefully be a good battle between Lewis and Nico. I expect the Mercedes duo to remain in the gap between the front four and the Williams during the race, but a lot depends on the start of course. I expect some excitement from Max, he looked pretty wild at the end of qualifying.

Ferrari under investigation for breeching Parc Ferme

Any idea what they've done? There's been so much sport on today I hardly seen any of this and have just got the "highlights" on record.

Looks like the mechanics pushed aside the officials and celebrated in a forbidden zone, so I assume it'll only be a fine rather than effecting the race result if anything comes to fruition.

Don't think there's been an overtake for the lead this season on track , except Malaysia, and that was because Hamilton hadn't pitted. Last proper battle was Texas last season.
